As a new patient, I was very impressed here. The dental hygienist (Stephanie) had a great bedside manner and was very thorough. She always asked if I was comfortable and informed me of all the steps that she was taking. Dr. Rad and her confirmed that I have some grinding issues as my canine teeth were becoming worn down. My previous dentists never mentioned that to me, but when they pointed it out, I also realized that my canines were getting worn out. My dentist here is good and they saw me quickly as a new patient with a broken tooth to repair. However, the profile page on Google or Yelp indicates this is an accessible office and it is not. The office is located on the second floor of a building with no elevator or wheelchair access. There are two flights of stairs to reach the second floor from either the front of the building or the rear of the building where the parking is located. While somewhat challenging for me now due to knee and hip issues, I can make it up the stairs using the handrail along the way. However, there may be a time for me in the future that the lack of accessibility will prompt me to change to a different practice. read more

I have severe dental phobia. I took excellent care of my teeth to avoid the dentist. After 10-12 years it was time to face my fears. Dr. Jang acknowledged my anxiety, was transparent and set up a reasonable treatment plan. My teeth are great now and I actually look forward to going for my cleanings. I was looking for a nearby dentist to prescribe some antibiotics for a tooth infection. With Newton Dentistry, I was able to get in to see the dentist the next day and she did a very thorough work up and prescribed an effective antibiotic. Six months later, when the infection came back, I called them again, and was seen right away. They explained a number of treatment plans. I will be back. read more

I had a root canal and a crown at this place. Worst experience I ever had in my life. The dentist struggled with the root canal so it took a long time (and a lot of pain for me) to get it done. But the worse was the crown. First time, the dentist got the wrong size and it didn't fit, so she had to order another one. The second one lasted just a few months and came off and broke the tooth underneath so I had to remove the tooth (at a different dental office). I called the office and they simply ignored me. Dr Jang is nice but she is the worse dentist I ever had. I regret going to this place. It was a lot of money and time wasted and they didn't care about my lost tooth and all the trouble they caused. read more

Wonderful staff and practitioners! Susan was tasked with cleaning my poor neglected teeth, she was very gentle and didn't rush me. She was kind and friendly. I found myself enjoying my normally traumatic deep cleaning session. Dr. Jang has very modern equipment and was able to show me on the tv screen what needs to be done in my mouth and she worked with Tracy in the office on a billing plan that works best with my insurance. Very bad experience! Had severe pain/sensitivity after crown procedure and then they purposely delayed my care. Shameful! Stay away! I went to get a cracked filling looked at. I had no pain or sensitivity of any kind. Dr. Jang suggested I need a crown and I agreed. After the prep work and temporary crown I had increasing pain and cold sensitivity over the next several days. After returning for a follow up, Dr. Jang suggested removing and placing a new temp crown and a round of antibiotics. After 5 additional days the pain/sensitivity did not improve. I returned again and Dr. Jang suggested a root canal and did not offer a referral to an endodontist, instead asking me to deal with the increasing pain for several more day so she could perform (and charge me for) the work. I had to find an endodontist on my own. Then I came to find out that i had to wait 4 weeks for the permanent crown, instead of the normal 2 weeks, simply because the Dr went on vacation and they preferred to delay my care rather than have another dentist cover for her. I had an emergency wisdom teeth removal, and I couldn't have asked for a better team! Dr Jang was patient and thorough, making sure to explain everything that was going on and presenting options for treatment. I saw Dr Annie for the actual removal. She was efficient and made sure I felt nothing, giving me adequate breaks and making sure I was comfortable (I mean, as much as I could be, my teeth were being taken out!). She shared some stories about herself (she's been doing dental surgery for decades!) while we were in downtime waiting for the numbing to kick in. I have to say Rhonda who is my new favorite hygienist who never left me stranded! She made sure I didn't taste anything bad, didn't feel suffocated from the equipment. Incredible service! Can't forget the front desk, she was great at keeping my nerves at bay while helping me with the financials and paperwork. I spoke with Elizabeth and Tracy, they will make sure you have a price breakdown before anything is set in stone. I was so nervous to go because I haven't been to the dentist in years, but I finally have dental insurance and unfortunately had an emergency to force me to go. This is covid time, and I was a bit concerned about going into the office. No need to worry! They have rules for everyone who enters, the place is impeccably clean, and I had my temperature taken before entering. This is long, but everyone needs to know, this facility is the real deal. They are not entirely bad. If you are worried about the dentist I have been to worse places. However, I will not be returning. You are charged upon arrival for whatever services are to be completed that day. Which seems transparent right. I was only a patient at ND since April 2020 and the proximity of this office was something I could not pass up. I went in for a cleaning paid $190 upon arrival which is how much the cleaning is. They looked at my teeth for 5 minutes and checked my X-rays that I have already previously paid for to decide I needed a deeper cleaning that would require a longer block of time to be available so I needed to reschedule. I did not receive a refund of any kind. $190 for 10 minutes of their time. Not only was zero of the $190 put toward credit or toward anything.. I was told I had to put a down payment to secure my next appointment. Scaling cleaning is much more expensive so I placed a $200 deposit. $390 was charged to my debit card with an email confirmation as well my bank statement confirming the amount charged. I go into my appointment the day of my new cleaning and I have a "$140 dollar credit"... They acknowledge they charged me $390 that day but Tracy at the front desk gives me some convoluted story trying to date all of my previous payments back to todays date coming up with some ridiculous math problem that made no sense. YOU PAY FOR YOUR SERVICES AS YOU RECEIVE THEM.. this place basically robbed me. Unfortunate, Dr Jang seemed legit and specialist Annie was cool. read more

My troubles started with pneumonia in January 2020, and even though I was assured it couldn't be covid-19, I started to have rotten luck with my teeth. I had terrible pain in my jaw. One dentist told me I was grinding my teeth in my sleep. I didn't see how I could be grinding my teeth given how much my jaw hurt. I needed a second opinion, and Newton Dentistry was willing to see me quickly. Dr. Jang diagnosed the problem and arranged for me to see Dr. Annie. A loose filing had split a molar in two -- I needed an extraction, the jaw bone scraped (decay had reached the bone), a bone graft, an implant and eventually a crown -- a long process. Having your jaw bone scraped was no picnic, but Dr. Annie did a good job -- it healed well and I don't have any pain. A cleaning and x-rays identified decay under a filing -- necessitating a root canal and crown. And they kept finding more cavities. I ended up with 10 filings. Ten! And a wisdom tooth extracted. I'd only ever had a few filings prior to this from back when I had braces over 30 years ago. I'd had a hard time having two lower wisdom teeth out way back then, so I was dreading the extraction. In fact, I was miserably unhappy about all of it, but Newton Dentistry not only solved each problem as it occurred, but also were supportive and kind. Dr. Annie was patient and thorough with the implant and the wisdom tooth. Dr. Jang did my root canal with amazing patience and precision. She went on maternity leave and had an adorable daughter. Then she came back and helped with more filings. She prescribed tooth paste with fluoride and a waterpik for flossing, and the new regimen seems to be working. Fingers crossed that whatever is causing my teeth to fail, one after the other, will stop soon. Meanwhile, I'm grateful to Newton Dentistry and all their staff -- dental hygienists, assistants, X-ray experts, dentists and periodontists, who make a friendly, welcoming and supportive team. I haven't been at my best during this process, but they certainly were! The down side is the climb up two tall flights of stairs from the parking lot (no elevator), and that they like for you to pay in advance for all services, which sometimes results in overpayments that they credit to your next appointment. I was used to being billed for services after the insurance is deducted. On the other hand, who wouldn't like to paid up front for their work? It's been pretty expensive. I maxed out my insurance for 2020 and now again for 2021. But it's worth it to be free of pain and decay. Thanks Newton Dentistry! read more

I have been going to Newton Dentistry and Dr Vanaria for 3 years now. I have had multiple fillings and cleanings done at Dr Vanaria's. This is the best dental clinic I have been to! They are well staffed with an amazing doctor and hygienists and assistants who are incredibly accommodating. I have always been treated with kindness, friendliness and warmth by everybody at this place. I always feel reassured when I visit this clinic for my dental needs and they have always been a phone call away. I have nothing but the best things to say about this place and the people here. They are just wonderful, thoroughly knowledgeable and extremely professional. You always get the best treatment and you always feel better after a visit here. They are very thorough and truly have your best interests at heart and do everything in their power to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The biggest positive is each visit feels completely stress free as you know you are in good hands for your dental needs. Here's one more bonus to this place - hands down, they have the best music playing here.
