My favourite has always been a Japanese Slipper, mostly because it's a little bit fun but also because it's a little bit fun watching the bartenders make it. The price of the cocktails does encourage heavy drinking, so I recommend you go slow and don't get too excited like I did during my first $7 cocktail experience. Port Office is a really popular after-work-drinks kind of place, but it really comes alive during the wee hours of a Friday or Saturday night. Downstairs, you can sit around a high-set table and engage in some banter, or you can go upstairs where the action is a bit more, well, active. Upstairs is home to the dance floor and some pretty cushy lounges where you can flop down after engaging in some d-floor grinding. Or not, whatever tickles your fancy. Upstairs is also home to the smokers' area, where you can go outside and socialise and drink along a full wraparound balcony. Port Office has a dark ambience to it that I really quite like, even though it isn't a regular weekend stop of mine. Like I said though, if $7 cocktails are on offer, I'm pretty much there.

Basically one of the law firms that my company uses regularly books out the upper floor and invites all of their clients along for drinks, and twice I have been fortunate enough to have been invited along to one of these functions. I even asked a friend of mine about the place and he had a few stories to tell me. On my recent visit, I stopped by to find that nothing has changed. I guess it has more to do with the fond memories than the pub itself, but still, its a pretty cool place to have a drink.

I had the cheese burger with fries, instead of the good old fashion tomato sauce , it was served with a relish sauce with a slight hit of chilli , its quite nice and had tasted nothing like that before. They also had large variety of wood beer on tap as well as bottles , cocktails for the ladies as well. Very nice decor as well Quite a pleasant place to sit a have a few, with friends after work.

It's a semi-fancy-ish bar & restaurant and only offers a wide range of drinks (of course), but also has some delicious food you must try. The menu lends itself to sharing with small & large plates on offer, but if you're feeling hungry, you can have it all for yourself. Small share plates range from $8- $22, & large share plates range from $22-$42. We highly recommend trying the Pork & beef ragu pappardelle ($24), and the pan fried house gnocchi with guanciale, lemon sage & truffled peccorino. These two dishes were so heavenly. The pork & beef ragu was so tender & full of flavour, & the Pappardelle pasta was amazing. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly;light & fluffy like clouds. The pecorino & guanciale gave the right amount of saltiness, & the beautiful addition of the lemon sage was devine! Yum, yum, yum! We also ordered a side of the sweet potato wedges with taragon aioli. This is a MUST! So tasty! Service at the time was a little mixed, but it was only their first night, & it improved as the night wore on. We love what they've done with the place, especially the Frank & Mimi mural, & some old pinball machines near the bar. We unfortunately were way too full to fit in dessert, so we will definitely be back!

A young woman greeted us at the service desk and presented us with seats outside, we looked out at the bay admiring the lights of the hornibrook bridge and further along to kipparing and woody point. We settled on either Sandgate or Shorncliffe but as we passed the local fish and chip shops we were put off by the 10 deep queues. We noticed the Full Moon Hotel, which is neslted along the beach road, high on a cliff overlooking the water and bushland. We were lucky enough to snag a table with a view, although the table wasn't clean it seemed a better prospect than being sandwiched amongst the other diners without a view. The tables are set very close together to the point where I can tell you the business of all the diners who sat near us. The menu is a little expensive for what I would consider to be bistro style food. We settled on the beer battered Fish and Chips for twenty-one bucks a plate. It was well presented and tasted fresh but it didn't stand out from any other fish and chip plate I have had in the past. The customer service was friendly but in a superficial kind of way, I didn't feel like my experience was really all that important to them. It was nice to be able to walk off the stodgy fish and chips along the boardwalk afterwards. Good option if all the fish and chip shops are closed or too busy.

At first glance, it still has a bit of that 70s feel in the decor but looks clean & tidy. Staff are friendly & Reuben, the F&B Manager seemed to be everywhere ensuring it all ran smoothly. There was a big party already there when we arrived for dinner on a Friday night, but we were seated promptly. Old-school pub style: you order and pay at the bar & meals are delivered to your table. The food was sensational! MSA quality beef served with chips or potato AND veges or salad. Up there with the best steak I've had in Brisbane I'd say. We had a 2 for 1 voucher from their advertising brochure, so the most expensive items we ordered: Reef & Beef with prawns & calamari though normally $33 was a bargain priced $16.50 each. There is a buffet as well, and many other meal choices under $20 They also do a $10 steak on Monday nights if your looking for a cheap date night out, and a few other bargains throughout the week, trivia etc There was a good little guitarist playing covers & a play area for the kids. Pokies & a TAB in the adults play area ;) All in all it reminded me of going to the footy club with my parents in the country in the late 70s, back when kids fitted in with what the family schedule rather than the other way around ;) We will definitely be back.
