I'm a single woman that just retired after recovering from blood cancer and this company came out to fix my heat pump. He said I needed a new TXV valve after putting 1# of Freon in the unit with no temp change from the intake and exit vents (this is a normal test). He quoted me $2300 to fix the unit. I was shocked at the cost and said I was calling for a second opinion. The other company came out and said I just needed Freon and after adding some the temp difference was 20 degrees, anything above 14 is normal. This company tried to take advantage of me because I was an older woman. Obviously he never added that 1# of Freon either that I paid for. Don't use this company because you can't trust them. read more

But when I texted them a couple of weeks later to get a copy of my write up and invoice for my insurance they said that they already gave it to me and would not reply to my texts requesting a copy. We realized that our AC unit was not working around 10pm and it was 86+ degrees inside the house. Tried calling several other companies that said they were open 24 hours but, none of them called us back. Fortunately for us they called us back and was able to come over at 1130pm and he stayed to fix the unit. They fixed the capicitator, added freon, and cleaned the unit. He was very through in his work and I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs work done on their HVAC unit. read more

The father and son (I'm assuming it to be) duo of Newman's Heating just left and I was so pleased that I had to write a review immediately. They came out for a diagnosis and found the issue to be as simple as incorrect wiring. Instead of giving us the run around they charged us a fair price of only what was needed to fix the issue. They even stayed around long enough to make sure the system thawed out and was running properly. The temperatures have been over 100 degrees this week and of course my air conditioner stopped working. It happened late Sunday. Roger who was filling in for his dad and his brother were booked on Monday but fortunately were able to assist me later that day. It was 90 in the house and with pets, it was miserable. Unfortunately, I would have to say that our experience was unsatisfactory. We needed an HVAC repair on both of our units. We were told how much it was going to be (after paying 79.00 diagnostic fee), but never even received an estimate that was to be faxed. Called couple days later and he said he threw away the paperwork?! It was all very strange...worst part is we are going to have to pay for another diagnostic fee. Eating the money and moving on. Still don't have HVAC issues fixed. Would not recommend this business. read more

On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM my compressor blew a capacitor. Called Newman's and naturally he was out on a call and swamped due to the heat wave. I made an appointment for Monday afternoon. Later that evening he called (9:45PM) and said he could come by now! I said yes and the rest is history. He came and fixed the problem and didn't try and run up the bill by selling me something that I didn't need. He was very professional and had good customer service. The price was right too!
