Use to LOVE this place and had the worst experience today. My gobbler tasted like vomit and the staff snickered and joked as they made it. I went back in to order another sandwich the girl and guy acted as if they could not remember me from two seconds before. (literally the rudest staff I've ever encountered). When I told her my other sandwich was bad they laughed! The girl mentioned something about legally blonde while she made my second sandwich to her coworker and my husbands name who had previously ordered. Maybe some training on how to be professional or friendly? If you don't like your job or you like to mess with people's food for fun, it's really sad you ruined business for this place. I had to wait forever to check out and pay for another sandwich after all of that. I won't be returning.

A great little general store that takes you back in time. The coffee is always fresh and the breakfast sandwiches are great if you want something quick to get you going in the morning. This little store has a little bit of everything. You can't go wrong with a Boar's Head deli sandwich. Stop in - It's highly recommended.

Amazing place! Excellent breakfast & lunch sandwiches, superb staff, and a dangerously delicious variety of baked sweets and craft beers.

Great home made sandwiches!! Try their home baked honey oat bread. Gets busy at lunch time, so I now remember to call ahead.

Penny candy, always changing bakery items and just fantastic sandwiches, on their home made honey-oat bread.

As to be expected in a store like this some of the stuff is crap but other stuff is pretty nice. Nothing really nice but sometimes pretty nice is nice enough. Inside is crowded and chaotic. Always seems a lot of people in here and it's difficult to move around. Takes a bit of patience but it's not too bad. It tends to over flow with stuff so they put some of it out in front on the sidewalk. Gives it a pleasantly tacky look. One of the things they really advertise are the 25 cent hot dogs. I would never get the courage to actually try one and I suspect they aren't exactly the highest quality but just seeing the price is kind of cool. The prices inside on most of the stuff inside is dirt cheap. I got some six buck T-shirts that didn't even shrink five sizes when I washed them. This place is exactly what it seems. It is an anachronism that manages to survive in a rather expensive and ritzy town like Newburyport just be being itself. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful even in middle of all the crazy activity that is going on. It's a cheap place that has lots of cheap but decent stuff. All kinds of weird and quirky things and always messy. Just the type of place that I enjoy

And they have free wifi which is great for working remotely. I also would love to say the service is fantastic. I don't know the name of the girl who served us but she was so friendly. And the drinks came out super fast! We got one of the energy drinks and a mocha. The energy drink was really good (very similar to a Rush at aroma joes!) and my dad enjoyed the mocha. But here is my only complaint.... The scones are not great. I think it is nice that they have a wide variety of pastries. But the scone (blueberry white chocolate) was both super dry and overly sweet. I couldn't even finish it. It was honestly reminiscent of crumbl cookies. So if you like sickeningly sweet scones (like the cookies at Crumbl!), then this would be great. I've had scones like this where it is balanced, but I fear this was too much and I probably won't get a scone here the next time I come. Otherwise, this spot is really cute and I highly recommend checking it out!
