I was finally able to stop in and try a special "sandwich of the day" and what a treat it was! Being offered a free pickle was the cherry on top. Along with the delicious, fresh sandwich, the store has a wide variety of drinks and snacks and also features local produce, products, baked goods and flowers. I also bought a mini whoppie pie. I agree that the store front makes the space look small but it's much bigger than you'd think. I already want to go back to try another tasty creation. read more

This store is one of the few places that still sparks joy in my life even when things get rough. Having a little country store with so much charm and the best sandwiches is such a simple but important delight in life. I look forward to my trips here and thankful businesses like this exist to give me something to look forward to. I really enjoy all of their sandwiches and their consistency in making them. They are always 10/10 whatever day you go and whoever is working. I love the veggie avocado in particular, but the gobbler and tuna are amazing as well. I also love the unique selection of beverages offered in the coolers, including lots of fun non-alcoholic options. This little place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside and they have some awesome quality products including a great beer/cider section, fancy snacks and really great sandwiches. It's a big step up from your average general store and definitely worth a stop! read more

Newfields Country Store looks like it jumped out of a Norman Rockwell painting outside and inside you will find a warm, friendly space filled with prepared food (their macaroni and cheese is stellar), incredible baked goods created on the premises, a fantastic selection of craft beer, hard cider, wine, cold brew coffee, and many other interesting beverages, including Squamscott Soda, penny candy, a cooler filled with ice cream and an assortment of ice cream bars in every style and color, deli items and the most delectable, gourmet sandwiches you have ever had. Did I mention that they make their own bread and rolls? There's even a gift shop area with cards, NCS souvenirs and many local products. You will find so much more here than you expect to find. The service is top notch and even when it's crowded you won't have to wait long because the owner and staff here work quickly and efficiently to make their epic, generous sandwiches and salads. I've never had a bad experience in the years that I've been coming here and you couldn't ask for nicer people to feed you. I always feel better after I've been here due to their kindness and my tummy is happy, as well! Also, the coffee is consistently great- fresh and hot or fresh and cold-brewed. Breakfast sandwiches are made to order or ready to go in the warmer. Honestly, if I could give NCS a rating of 10 stars, I would. It would be truly deserved by the hardworking people who keep this very special place going day in and day out. Use to LOVE this place and had the worst experience today. My gobbler tasted like vomit and the staff snickered and joked as they made it. I went back in to order another sandwich the girl and guy acted as if they could not remember me from two seconds before. (literally the rudest staff I've ever encountered). When I told her my other sandwich was bad they laughed! The girl mentioned something about legally blonde while she made my second sandwich to her coworker and my husbands name who had previously ordered. Maybe some training on how to be professional or friendly? If you don't like your job or you like to mess with people's food for fun, it's really sad you ruined business for this place. I had to wait forever to check out and pay for another sandwich after all of that. I won't be returning. read more

Super friendly staff. This is my favorite country store in NH. Penny candy, always changing bakery items and just fantastic sandwiches, on their home made honey-oat bread. Try the "Gobbler" a thanksgiving style sandwich that is addictive. Wash it down with the local Squamscot Root Beer (made down the street in a 100+ year old soda factory). Really inexpensive breakfast sandwiches are my current addiction though. read more

Very small! They have coffee, beer, and a few staple supplies and a fair ton of candy. A few personal care items. Prices are comparable in my exp. Great place to get a gallon of milk and a six pack - they carry Harpoon cider, which is a big plus! They'll usually have bagels and pastry type things, a *few* fresh veggies, some artisan cheese, and Boar's Head meaty things. It's a nice little folky spot, and better than any gas station for snack attacks - fewer choices, but they're all way way tastier and better for you. Except for the candy. Nom nom. Also great if you're headed to a dinner and have no gourmet offerings - you can get a tomato and a lump of mozzarella and call it done. Excellent! Not sure on the wine, will check that too. Somewhat unrelated - but gtk - if you're driving through Newfields, I'd advise keeping quite strictly to the speed limits. They're nice there, but will stop you for 5 over. Even 3. meep! read more

We always want to stop when we drive by the Country Store. I thought it would be fun to go through the entire list of sandwiches on the menu board. But I can't get past my favorite - chicken salad on homemade honey oat bread! It's the most perfect sandwich because the chicken tastes roasted like big pieces of white meat and there isn't too much mayo. Sometimes they have enough bread on hand to sell me an entire loaf to bring home. That bread makes great toast at home. I am also very happy they sell prepared foods in one of their refrigerators. They often have pulled pork, mac & cheese, asian salad, or other foods wrapped and ready to bring home when you don't want to cook dinner. Just grab a half gallon of milk and some eggs and you are all set to go home and avoid the grocery store entirely. read more

Newfields Country Store is "The Store" in Newfields. It is pretty much a landmark in the town, and provides all the necessary items from beer to sandwiches that aren't premade to lottery tickets and hotdogs. I used to raid the penny candy selection growing up, and still like to dabble in their extensive array of candy selection. This store truly needs to get a bit more Klout as a staple for the area. read more

My workplace recently had Charlotte and Leroy cater an open house for us and couldn't have been happier with the spread! The home baked goodies included pineapple upside-down cake, lemon thyme scones, sour cream coffee cake muffins, white chocolate cherry scones, blueberry muffins and the best cinnamon rolls any of our staff had ever tasted! A nice little general store that caries 'most' mini-grocery essentials. Quaintly decorated in a laid back town, the deli bar offers a nice variety of luncheon items that are very tasty... right down to the lobster rolls, delicious soups and always a hot menu item. A convenient spot to grab a quick lunch or pick up what was forgotten at the grocery store. This definitely has that small town country store feel where we often run into neighbors. What a great place to grab a sandwich for lunch. They bake their own bread and many, many dessert items on site. Mon-Fri they have a delicious sandwich of the day. I believe I've only turned it down once in favor of their chicken salad. They also have a hot item every day. The mac and cheese on Friday is my favorite. You really can't beat this country store on Main Street in Newfields, NH. It's located right across from the Town Hall/Police Station, so you can't get any safer than that. Along with their delicious sandwiches, they offer many local grocery items including wine and soda pop. I highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch. read more

In our era of gas station cum convenience store featuring commissary-made stale refrigerated food-shaped objects, the Newfields Store stands out as fresh, homemade, and high-quality. Add friendly, authentic and historic and you have the whole picture. Much-better-than-fast-food-chains' breakfast sandwiches are made to order on the grill. Wide variety of lunch sandwiches on your choice of breads. Hot daily specials frequently include chili con carne or mac and cheese. Self-serve soups, coffee and steamed dogs. One cooler stocked with homemade take-and-bake entrees and side dishes. The other coolers offer chilled craft beers and Squamscott sodas plus the usual. Locally owned and operated, this store deserves patronage for two reasons: first, it gives you top-quality food and sundries at moderate prices; second, it's a dying breed that we should do what we can to preserve. If you feel we need more Dunkin' Donuts and Xtra Marts, keep on driving. If you're looking for a legitimate country store with honest food and local conversation, don't pass it up. read more
