You are seated in the cattle ring which has a stage area and concreted floor. Dress up or dress down, but remember this is a working auction market so the seats are a little hard if you don't have much padding!! The fact that this is an auction ring only adds to the fun of being there!! Reasonably priced tickets, proffessional lighting and sound and a fantastic atmosphere. We could not fault it. Enjoy.

After all there really is nothing like this theatre, don't be put off that it is used for a cattle market by day it adds to the experience and is just like a standard theatre at night, expert lighting and such a lovely relaxed ambience. Great mixed crowd of young and old, big thumbs up! Very professional, fun, great value for money. We watched a comedy show Clever Peter they were spot on and Horse & Lois too. I'll take a Cheltenham winner for that any day. Or if I'm not to take it so literally it just means that it's time for the theatre. Harrogate Theatre has got some serious history too. It opened in 1900 and has obviously gone through various closures and refurbishments since then. It still oozes a lavish and deluxe feel to it though. It's a super auditorium and attracts some stellar plays and performances. It's especially good for attracting superb comedy and sean Lock, Rory Bremner and Katy Brand are all visiting in the upcoming months. If that doesn't impress you then check out who have trod the boards in the past; Trevor Howard, Charlie Chaplin, Sarah Bernhardt, Arnold Ridley, Brian Murphy, Kate O'Mara, Martin Shaw, John Noakes and Ben Kingsley. Now if that doesn't impress you much, you must be Shania Twain. You don't always need to look at the obvious attraction of the West Yorkshire Playhouse, go explore a little and get to Harrogate Theatre.

We went to see a Shakespeare play put on by the turrets teenage theatre group outside which was great. Whilst there we had a mooch around and saw all sorts of activities going on. They have a flootlite BMX track which was full to bursting. Music studios where people of all ages where doing their thing with instruments. A garage where mechanics where learning new skills, a lake to do canoeing. Down at the lower end was a fishing lake & high wire/climbing area. This is a very busy club cattering for not only the locals but for many visiting clubs. A lounge bar which is nicely decorated & dispays the Thomas Lipton Trophy (1st world cup) & a smaller bar which is exclusively male only. There is no parking immediatly outside the club but spaces can be found around the village green or by the post office.
