I bought a bed from here, and was told it would be delivered on Monday afternoon, and that I would…read morebe notified half an hour in advance. The bed arrived without any advance warning, and consequently I missed the delivery because I had had to pop out for an unexpected errand. The delivery staff refused to redeliver the same day, so I had to book a new delivery at a charge of £15. When the bed finally arrived, the staff then refused to carry it up the stairs for "Health & Safety" reasons. I live alone. There's no way I can move a double mattress upstairs on my own. I'm now scrabbling around trying to find friends who can help. And what Health and Safety risk does it pose to me, if there's a fire during the night and I can't get out of my front door because there's a mattress in the way?! This may be a charity but I still expect a basic minimum level of customer service. The staff here have been totally unhelpful throughout the process. I will certainly never buy anything here again and cannot recommend them to anyone else.

I didn't find…read moreanything I liked enough to buy as their stock isn't that cheap, however most of it didn't even look second hand. A nice clean shop too. I am going to go back periodically to check if they have anything I want to buy.

I tend to go to the British Heart Foundation for books as obviously they're second hand and…read moretherefore cheap. They're normally only a quid or two. I was annoyed last time I went though as they were supposed to close at 5pm and I got there about 4:50 and they were closing up. It's only ten minutes but it's still annoying when I was after a book to read!

I go to the Barbican in York every now and then for various events as they show loads of stuff…read morethere including bands, singers, concerts, and comedians. I'd say it's becoming the best venue in York for shows as we don't really have anything like a massive arena. It had a massive refurb a year or two ago and reopened sometime last year. It's really big and modern now, a great venue.

They always have a good selection of jeans in fairly on trend style and have a decent selection of men's clothing as well. A small room to the back houses media and books. Friendly staff!
