The adjustments did not help. I was even feeling worse at one point and the doctors kept saying "oh yeah it's normal to feel worse at first" - with no real legitimate explanation. I did eventually feel a little better but I don't think it was because of their adjustments. I found the doctors either condescending or creepy. When I asked one of the drs if he recommends any exercises to strengthen my back, maybe something that isn't as intense as what I normally do which is deadlifts, since my back is still recovering, he said "You do deadlifts?" and literally laughed in my face. (I'm a young woman.) That was the last straw. I feel like these people actually do take themselves seriously and believe they're helping. So maybe some clients sense that and believe in them. But they're not really doing anything. Save yourself the trouble, and the money!

Well, I ended up joining, and blah! Total waste of money and time. I would go to the appointment, and they spent literally 5 minutes. They use the tool on a few spots, and that's it. My back pain never improved. I decided to terminate my membership, and they wanted me to do it in person. I'm old enough to know that's a marketing trick. I told them I would not waste another second of my time in that office, and they finally canceled it. Look, if you have a deep pain like I had, this place is not for you. Thankfully, I found a great physiatrist in Wappingers Falls, and voila..my pain is gone without drugs, just actual treatment and therapy.

I WAS WRONG. I finally reached a point in my pregnancy where my legs would shake in pain just from standing too long. My baby was still breech at 34 weeks, which did not happen in my first pregnancy, and at my 36 week ultrasound they confirmed he was finally head down - only thing to change was seeing Dr Christian. I finally started being able to go on walks again & keeping up (sort of! Lol) with my toddler. I can't even explain how much better I feel. I cannot wait to keep going after having the baby to see how good I can feel. Dr Christian is so incredibly knowledgeable and also so kind and welcoming. The environment is absolutely wonderful and I truly look forward to these appointments, not only because of how I feel after but after my very first visit he remembered personal details like my daughters name, my sons name to be, etc.. you're not just a number here! You're truly cared about and so is your well being. I can't recommend this place enough!!

The first red flag was being brought into a separate room as a new patient, handed laminated pseudo-science data sheets, and given a sales pitch about how chiropractic care can apparently solve every ailment in the known universe. I kindly explained that I was just there for a standard back adjustment due to soreness from spending nearly 20 hours on a plane. The sales guy immediately launched into a speech about "treating the root cause, not the symptom." "But in my case, I already know the root cause, don't I?" A quick and dismissive: "Right, but we still need to run you through a series of tests to confirm." Then he referred to a "spine gun" they would use on my back. I asked what kind of technology this mythical device used because I did not want any x-rays. His response: "Oh, we will do an x-ray today." "No, I'm not injured and I won't be getting an x-ray." "Then you can't be treated here." That ended the visit for me, and honestly, hearing multiple patients screaming in pain and loudly cursing during their adjustments while I was sitting in the office did not exactly inspire confidence either. I've been to many chiropractors over the years, but this is the first time I've ever felt like I was at a car dealership instead of a medical office.

He even gave my daughter and her friend a mini lesson and showed them the difference with how my spine looked before and after the adjustment. They loved it. I have been away from the practice for a little bit because I haven't figured out my new insurance but it is the only reason that I'm considering dealing with the insurance company because I really felt better.

The afternoon PT worker was more interested in pushing his MLM that helping me with my treatment. At one point he took my number, I assumed it was for appointments purposes. Odd because the front desk has my contact information. Turns out it was to send me a video to push a "miracle oil". I decided not to return and to elsewhere. Best thing I ever did. The new practice was wonderful. We did a number of exercises, gave me a workout plan for home, discussed what to look for with footwear and suggested adaptive equipment my insurance would cover. What a difference! I feel sad that people come for help and they are being pushed a product. People who need PT are vulnerable, often elderly or young kids on sports teams. They need help getting back to their normal activities. It wasn't professional or at all ethical.

Before the actual adjustment patients will use either the traction table, physical therapy stretches, or electro-stim TENS machine to bring information to the pain area and allow for relaxation of the muscles before the adjustment of the bones. Dr. Nicolai checks on you during the warm up and will change the settings for comfort. My pain problem involves needing my neck cracked and that takes a lot of trust. Dr. Nicolai is very gentle and never forces anything. Sometimes he has to play the kid photographer and says things like "think about your right knee" just as he cracks my neck which is really helpful in relaxing for me. I've always left his office leaving better than when I arrived and happily recommend him to friends and the community at large for muso-skeletal pain management.
