I had been to the BMW dealership and one other repair place for an estimate and neither of them had even bothered to open the hood. Here, the owner Chris took the time to open up the hood and show me exactly what needed fixing. New auto Body of choice. Wonderful, through work on Both X6 and 328 CI. I can not believe how clean the cars looks. On the convertible, I had door damage when someone backed into my car in addition to some electrical challenges. Chris fixed them all at a very fair price. I have worked with them before to fix my car (2006 Audi), but they took a long time to complete the repairs. They repeatedly gave me estimates for when the car would be repaired that never came to fruition. We got the car back at least 2-3 weeks after the original repair deadline. Last time I ordered a part from them, they never got back to me. Every time me or my husband called, they neglected to call us back or tell us about the progress of the part. Long before I was a driver, my father had been taking his Toyota Camry to New York Auto for upwards of ten years. So when I became a car-owner, I started taking my Honda Civic to New York Auto when the inevitable happened. Chris and the guys at New York auto are honest, patient, fast, and have a real commitment to perfection. My car (06 bmw) got some scratches that unfortunately could not be fixed by just detailing; I wanted it to be 'as new' and was a bit taken aback by the wide estimates given by various shops in NJ. Explored for other shops on yelp but was searching for those who had experience in the European cars. New York Auto was recommended by Vinny (@ Mins in Brooklyn) and I thought of checking it out because of Vinny has a good reputation and very familar with European cars. Boy, am I thrilled that I found New York Auto! Here are my top reasons for recommending them: - they did a fantastic job on my car and I cannot believe it. Really! - in addition to the two areas that required work, Chris also took care of some scratches in the bumper without charging anything extra - I was actually going to replace the existing 'skirt' (the bottom of the side that runs parallel to the ground ) because of the scratches but Chris suggested not to spend extra and that he could fix it. He said I can always do it if I am not happy with the work and I am glad that I listened to him because he saved me from spending unnecessarily. - Chris' quote was neither expensive nor cheap. Given the quality of the work, I am happy with what I paid for. - Chris first indicated that the car would be ready in 4-5 days but he actually got it ready in 3! - Both Chris and his wife Sofia, are wonderful people and took extra care to listen to everything. Really sweet guys! - They have been in the business for 20+ years in that same location. Their shop is a small one in a one-way street but don't let that dissuade you. Plus, it is within 10 minutes walk from the NYC subway and so was extremely convenient. The folks at Superior Care, our long-time mechanic, recommended New York Auto Body, and we could not be happier with the quality of their work. New York Auto Body's estimate was fair and they kept to the price, which was within the insurance company's offer. They did not have us bring in the car until they found high quality used doors to mount. They matched our 8-year-old paint exactly. Locks and windows functioned perfectly. Chris and his wife were cordial, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. When we came to pick up the car, they had just finished washing it. They even shined the tires.
