Lunch Review! New Hong Kong offers some of the best Chinese…read morefood in the area. I loved that they offer lunch specials even on the weekends. The same dinner portion sized meal is around $12 each for lunch. The meals also come with chicken fried rice, one egg roll, one can of soda, and a fortune cookie. We ordered ahead and they said the food would be ready in 20 minutes; it was ready for pick up right at the 20 minute mark. The restaurant is carry out and delivery only so there are a few waiting chairs in the front. The Kung Pao Chicken had good heat, nice variety of vegetables, and the sides were tasty. The Orange Chicken wasn't too spicy, had crispy breading, and the sauce was delicious. I would recommend both of those dishes to try. Tip: The prices are correct on their website but not on their takeaway menus. Pro Tip: You can request what spice you'd like.

New Hong Kong actually still manages to be among the best Chinese places in town. Just have the right expectations. There's not enough room for eating in, so it's only for takeout it seems. A good place for picking up some cheap ass Chinese. It was close to where we were so it was convenient to make an order. The menu has the typical kind of stuff. It's about $10 for a lunch entree. Vegetarian menu is pretty small. Only has a few choices. Then only a few of these ones have tofu in it unfortunately. Ma Po Tofu is one of these. The recipe doesn't include pork like at many other places so it really is vegetarian. It's what we got. The tofu was firm and it had a good spice with some vegetables like broccoli and peppers. Had a pretty good experience and the woman wasn't that rude so it wasn't like as others have said when they ordered from here. It's only a place for carryout so Community Park across the street is a good place to sit and eat an order. The food may not be authentic but it's the basic strip mall stuff so whatever.

As someone not super…read morefamiliar with Thai cuisine, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but everything from the flavors to the portions was top-notch. We ordered for pickup and the food was ready in just 15 minutes. The inside felt modern and minimal, with limited seating and a steady crowd of diners and takeout customers, which is always a good sign. We tried the shrimp spring rolls, chicken Pad Thai, drunken noodles with chicken, and the chicken pineapple fried rice. First off, those shrimp spring rolls? 10/10. Super fresh, light, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. The Pad Thai--Oy's signature dish--was the highlight. Easily the best I've ever had. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The drunken noodles were right behind it--loaded with flavor and a sneaky little heat. We went with the normal spice level, but beware: those little red peppers pack a serious punch. (Keep a tissue handy... or a glass of milk. Or both.) The pineapple fried rice was solid. Not quite as bold or savory as Chinese-style fried rice, but still tasty and a nice complement to the spicier mains. Overall, Oy's delivers some of the best Thai food in the south suburbs. The menu is short and sweet, but every dish is cooked to order--and it shows. If you're new to Thai food or just looking to level up your takeout game, this spot is absolutely worth it.
