I am writing to share my horrendous experience with Beauty Rewind. In January, I had a lip filler…read moreprocedure with Aly that left me severely deformed. The filler caused unsightly pockets, lumps, and bumps in my lips, and overall a bo*ched look as seen in photo 1 attached. Despite having had filler procedures before, the clinic insisted that my swollen appearance was normal, despite my face being swollen for almost two weeks, where I could barely open my eyes, nose was swollen. A second opinion confirmed this was abnormal. Over the next 4.5 months, I endured three dissolving sessions to correct the issue. My lips remain disfigured, especially when I smile. The bo*ched procedure severely impacted my smile and confidence. I had to wear a mask to hide my deformed lips during social engagements, including work and my cousin's engagement party. This persisted throughout January and February, some of March preventing me from attending daily social activities, work, gym, volunteer. The state of my lips during January and February can be seen in Photo #1, during this time my work made an exception and let me work from home. Despite visiting the clinic twice, the nurses insisted my appearance was normal and assured me I would be fine. I had to take off most of January to work from home and was advised to wait a month before dissolving, leading to more time off for swelling and healing. Even after the dissolving procedure in March and two more visits, nothing was resolved. The inside skin of my lips bulged out, and bumps remained. Drinking was difficult due to the disfiguration, with liquids often seeping out the sides of my lip. This has turned into a relentless ordeal, affecting my ability to show my face in public. Despite this, I continued to work with the clinic, hoping for a resolution. However, their policies are inconsistently enforced, and they refuse to assist you. Their patient care practices disappear once they realize their mistake is costly. Twice this year, I had to reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances--once due to a doctor-ordered quarantine and another time because my car was hit. The clinic falsely claimed I had canceled eight times, ignoring that unforeseen events can happen within 48 hours of an appointment. When I called to reschedule due to a legal matter involving a hit-and-run, the clinic abruptly informed me I was no longer allowed to book appointments and would be taking my $100 deposit, which was never enforced before, and was never given a warning. Keep in mind, if you call within the 48-hour cancellation time to reschedule, you will be marked automatically in their system for late cancellation, which is what happened with me earlier this year. Additionally, after reviewing my emails, I noticed I would receive emails, where the email would say the time and date of my appointment and say that it has been changed to the same time and date originally booked for - which makes absolutely no sense. Lastly, I want to add that it's been hard enough to come in for dissolving after dissolving hoping my lips will return back to normal, the distress caused by the clinic manager has been an additional stressor. I am beyond frustrated and upset as this experience has destroyed my smile and confidence, and I paid for a procedure that left my lips disfigured. I urge anyone considering this clinic to research the practitioners and their education thoroughly. Beauty Rewind does not care about patient care once the procedure is done, and your face is disfigured. They do not treat patients well if something goes wrong, barely claiming responsibility, and will stop responding, & take your money. With my sister getting married in one month at a 700-person event, I am left to figure things out on my own. I am now seeking legal advice for the disfiguration caused, incompetent management and lack of empathy/patient care. I strongly advise against choosing Beauty Rewind for any procedures. I wish I could attach full photos, however, I would like my patient privacy to be respected.

The front staff knows my name after two visits, and are perennially friendly and smiling - also extremely efficient. The nurses are obviously well informed and well educated, also very polite and respectful. I have seen Dr. Maninder twice now for a rate skin disorder. He had to be a medical detective to diagnose it right away, and treated pre cancerous lesions on my face right away (which I hadn't known about), examined me from toe to head for evidence of a former melanoma having reappeared (it hasn't), and his nurse injected the nodules on my back and face with a steroid, which completely cleared them up. I was prescribed three ointments for my face, scalp, and back/shoulders and advised to return in three months. I called his nurse four weeks later because my face had in the meantime broken out with a rash and itching. The nurse made an appointment and Dr. Maninder saw me and listened to me. I had a choice of oral medication or light therapy and I chose light therapy. The clinic is so well equipped! I've had my second light therapy session today with Pia from the front office. She is also very well trained and very pleasant. I know that dermatology clinics now offer a lot of cosmetic treatments such as Botox and so on, which I'm not familiar with. But I went there with a medical condition. My family doctor referred me. Rejuvenation Dermatology has clinics on the south side of Edmonton, in Calgary, and several other cities around Alberta and maybe Canada. Note I was 80 years old last October and quite opinionated! The doctor and staff listened to me and I am a happy patient. I know that the treatment will be successful - it may very well take another 4 months or longer but good health can't be rushed. In my possession are prescriptions for 3 ointments and more that have repeats, which will be fine until September when I see Dr. Maninder again to report progress. The light therapy is easy and fast, and also one of the latest treatments for urticaria nodularis and other recalcitrant skin disorders. The clinic I attend is the downtown Rejuvenation Dermatology clinic on Jasper Avenue and 107 Street, in a high rise office building. Easy to get to and there's a Timmy's on the main floor for an after appointment coffee!

I required a few more "feathers" drawn onto my new eyebrow line to fill them out properly. Micro-pigmentation takes about 90 minutes including the freezing gel application. It takes about a week to heal with frequent applications of Polysporin or other antibiotic gel. The dark, scary look fades after 2 days as the process heals. Itching is normal. Don't scratch! I'm looking like a starlet today! Is it worth $350.00? When all is said and done, YES. It was a big hit to the pocketbook, but I scrimp and save in all other areas of my beauty routine, so I think it evens out. I feel like I have a younger, sexier face. I'm very happy with Tropicalaser.

There seems to be a few shady practices in Edmonton that try to take your money and give you burns in return -- but Edmonton Laser Centre is professional through and through. The outside doesn't really shout "high end salon" -- no giant glass windows or modern furniture here. In fact, it's on the second floor of what looks like an almost run-down strip mall on 97st. But, inside, it's very clean, no-nonsense. Sort of reminds me of a Medicentre look. The technician who worked on me is an older woman who says she's been doing this for about seven years. She's very professional and sympathetic when you yelp a bit in pain (I went there for laser hair removal), but it's all very straightforward, no frills, no real conversation. If you want to feel super pampered or anything, this isn't the place for you. But, if you want to get rid of some unwanted hair, I'd give this place a try! I had no idea the pain would be like this. With a minor smell of burning hair, I just kept reminding myself. Just one year and I'll never have to shave again. Just one year. No more razor burn. Within seconds it was over, and I don't think she got all the area I wanted, but I wasn't about to ask for more. All in all, I've already seen a difference and booked my next appointment (apparently i'm a sucker for punishment). The cold air thing really helped minimize the pain when I remembered I had use of my arms though. She brought me to the room and it was dimly lit and comfortable laying on the bed. I think there was an option to remove both top and bottom if I wanted but I removed just my top. During the treatment she let me know what she was doing and we also had a nice chat too. After she left the room and I had my eyes clothes and could have fallen asleep. I think I was in the room for about an hour or maybe a little longer and after she offered me a glass of water. A few days after the procedure, my face felt smoother. I booked about 2 months later to use my coupon for a touch up microderm treatment. It was a shorter treatment with Nelia since Katherine was no longer working there. She was nice and friendly.
