At first, I told the doctor the price I had been quoted and she said, "Oh, it will probably be less!" Then stopped herself and seemed to admonish herself for saying it would be cheaper. Needless to say, they charged me $250 for a 15 minute procedure. But that's not all. When I got home, I noticed that about a quarter of the mole was still there as there was an obvious raised area left. I was moving to BC for a job on Monday so I could not go back in on Monday. When I called, the clinician told me to wait until the scab fell off and accusingly told me I would have complained if there was a bigger incision, or something along those lines. I told her, no, I just expect both the doctor and clinician present to remove the entire mole! I waited another week and of course there is still a part left of the mole, which is hard to cover up with makeup because its raised. Very unhappy with the entire procedure.

My appointment was with Dr. Sotoodian who did a lot to put me at ease because of the reason for my appointment. I liked the attitude of him and his nurse who helped me. I'm hopeful that my experiences at this location continue to be positive. The waiting room was rather nice: the chairs were comfortable and there were free sunscreen samples available which seemed like a really good idea as skin cancer is a major concern (especially in summer). This building was reasonably new construction. Transit to get here is okay but could be better -- this office is a bit out of the way. Road construction would make getting here by car a bit more complicated than it may need to be. It is conveniently close to a new residential area and there are a lot of services available nearby.

It definitely feels like a high-end experience when you enter. The staff at the front desk are always friendly and offer you drinks while you wait. During my first appointment with her, she gave me a bit of a consult and while I have had botox before, she was able to offer helpful opinions. After returning from a…read moretrip, my son developed a sudden skin reaction, and Dr. Longowal provided prompt, knowledgeable, and compassionate care. He identified the problem right away, explained the treatment clearly, and made the whole process easy and reassuring. My son improved quickly thanks to him. As a doctor told me many years ago, "You find information on the internet and knowledge from a…read moredoctor." I have never encountered a better clinic than Rejuvenation Dermatology. The front staff knows my name after two visits, and are perennially friendly and smiling - also extremely efficient. The nurses are obviously well informed and well educated, also very polite and respectful. I have seen Dr. Maninder twice now for a rate skin disorder. He had to be a medical detective to diagnose it right away, and treated pre cancerous lesions on my face right away (which I hadn't known about), examined me from toe to head for evidence of a former melanoma having reappeared (it hasn't), and his nurse injected the nodules on my back and face with a steroid, which completely cleared them up. I was prescribed three ointments for my face, scalp, and back/shoulders and advised to return in three months. I called his nurse four weeks later because my face had in the meantime broken out with a rash and itching. The nurse made an appointment and Dr. Maninder saw me and listened to me. I had a choice of oral medication or light therapy and I chose light therapy. The clinic is so well equipped! I've had my second light therapy session today with Pia from the front office. She is also very well trained and very pleasant. I know that dermatology clinics now offer a lot of cosmetic treatments such as Botox and so on, which I'm not familiar with. But I went there with a medical condition. My family doctor referred me. Rejuvenation Dermatology has clinics on the south side of Edmonton, in Calgary, and several other cities around Alberta and maybe Canada. Note I was 80 years old last October and quite opinionated! The doctor and staff listened to me and I am a happy patient. I know that the treatment will be successful - it may very well take another 4 months or longer but good health can't be rushed. In my possession are prescriptions for 3 ointments and more that have repeats, which will be fine until September when I see Dr. Maninder again to report progress. The light therapy is easy and fast, and also one of the latest treatments for urticaria nodularis and other recalcitrant skin disorders. The clinic I attend is the downtown Rejuvenation Dermatology clinic on Jasper Avenue and 107 Street, in a high rise office building. Easy to get to and there's a Timmy's on the main floor for an after appointment coffee!

Here is all they do not do compared to other medical offices. They don't do reminder calls. They don't send email reminders. They do not give priority to medical patients over cosmetic patients. If they can't get you in during "medical times" then you stand behind someone wanting botox. This should not be allowed. And do not let them call you back. You will never hear from them. When they couldn't find a time to treat my medical condition that allowed me to arrange transportation, they asked if I wanted to call back? Why would I call back? Won't it be the same problem tomorrow? This office is busy, too busy - and poor reception staff does not help this. And of course, they are rude, but that goes without saying.

I waited several months before writing this review because I wanted to give Lucere Dermatology and…read moreDr. Taher every opportunity to address my concerns and provide the information I requested. I originally went to Lucere for a dermatology issue unrelated to cosmetic treatment. While there, I noticed they offered cosmetic laser treatments and asked about a consultation for CO2 laser resurfacing. I was taken to the cosmetic area and spoke with someone I believed at the time was a nurse. I later learned she was a sales consultant. Rather than discussing CO2 laser, I was encouraged to consider cheek filler. I explained that another cosmetic clinic had previously advised me that I was not a good candidate for cheek or tear-trough filler because I have festoons and that filler could potentially make them worse. I was reassured that this was not a concern and that I would be very happy with the result. Based on those reassurances, I agreed to proceed. I now regret that decision. Dr. Zaki Taher performed the injections. The procedure itself was extremely quick (approximately five minutes). I was not told which filler product or products he was injecting, where each product was being placed, or what risks might be particularly relevant given my existing festoons. I also received no aftercare instructions. After returning home, I had to search online myself to find out what I should and should not do following cheek filler. Unfortunately, I was very unhappy with the result. My under-eye area looked heavier and more tired, my pre-existing festoons became more noticeable, and I developed a temporary bluish discoloration under my left eye that appeared to me to resemble the Tyndall effect. The discoloration eventually resolved, but I remain unhappy with the overall result. What concerned me just as much as the cosmetic result was what happened when I tried to find out exactly what had been done. At my two week follow-up, when I asked what filler had been used, I was initially told there was nothing charted. I then asked Dr. Taher directly and was told "Juvederm." My receipt listed "1 ml under eyes" and "1 ml cheeks." Dr. Taher told me that no filler had been injected into my tear troughs. Because of these discrepancies, I formally requested my complete records, including the exact filler used, lot/batch information, amounts, injection locations, procedure notes and consent documentation. Several weeks later, I received records listing TWO fillers: Juvederm Ultra XC and Revanesse Ultra+. This was particularly confusing because I had previously been told only "Juvederm." After months of requesting clarification, Lucere eventually told me that both Juvederm Ultra XC and Revanesse Ultra+ had been injected into my cheeks only and that the under-eye treatment shown on my invoice was a billing error. I was told that the consultant had completed the billing before treatment with the expectation that it would be corrected afterward, but the error was not caught when I left. I cannot say whether filler was or was not placed under my eyes. Lucere's position is that it was not. My concern is that the conflicting information I received has left me without the confidence I should be able to have in my own medical records. If I was initially told there was nothing charted, I still do not understand how the clinic later established the precise products and placement. I also never received a satisfactory explanation for why Dr. Taher initially told me only Juvederm had been used when the records later listed two different fillers. I also have serious concerns about the consent documentation I received. The consent form provided to me contains a signature under my name that is not mine. At the same time, the chart notes state that verbal consent was obtained because the iPad was not functioning. I specifically asked the clinic to explain how and when the written consent form was completed and why a signed form exists if verbal consent was documented. The records also state that aftercare was reviewed prior to discharge. That does not reflect my experience. I received no aftercare instructions and had to look them up myself afterward. I subsequently returned to the cosmetic clinic that had originally cautioned me about filler because of my festoons and had the result independently assessed. The provider did not consider it a good cosmetic result but advised me against dissolving because he felt the risk of making the area look worse was too great. I have chosen to follow that conservative advice and leave it alone. If you are considering cosmetic injectables at Lucere, ask exactly what product will be injected, how much will be used, precisely where it will be placed, and what risks apply to your individual anatomy. Make sure the treatment is accurately documented, and ask for written aftercare instructions before leaving. I wish I had trusted my initial hesitation and asked more questions before proceeding.
