They sell a wide range of clothing and footwear - the style is mostly casual, they have a really good range of Converse clothes and shoes, plus a fantastic range of jeans, belts, bags, jackets etc, but they also do an excellent range of smart blazers and leather shoes too! They have a Christmas club available so should you wish to save up, you can open an account and put money in as and when you can afford, to have a nice amount built up to buy some presents (or treat yourself!) Also be sure to check out their sales, as there are some great bargains to be had (and you can never have too many pairs of Converse!) The Mills found new life by redeveloping the site to create a retail centre. The 'anchor store' is Tynwalk Mills department store featuring high end clothing and home goods. Adjacent stores include a gourmet deli, two cafes, a flower shop, a toy store a weekly farmers' market (Thursday) and more. We had lunch at the Neb Cafe, which was very good. The shops are wheelchair accessible and there is plenty of parking. The setting is lovely, they also have a picnic area and playground, something for everyone!

Baillies is a Bangor institution and has been around for over five decades, supplying the young, old and men somewhere in between with suits, trousers, shirts, t-shirts, jackets, coats and knitwear. Despite the prices being of a slightly higher nature, Baillies often has really good discounts (hence why my dad loves it so), and you'll find yourself surprised at the bargains available. And yes, I know you're thinking I'm female (and you'd be perfectly correct), but I've been in Baillies many times before...with my dad of course. If you're a pupil at one of Bangor's schools, you can be sure to find your uniform at Baillies. I confess that my feet gave out, so I went back to our hotel. 40 minutes later, my husband sent an SOS--"we might be in trouble-- please come here." Dutifully, I put on my shoes, trotted to North and saw the trouble was potential bankruptcy. Because everything in the store is top notch and well worth its asking price. My purpose there was to rein in purchases. Instead I saw a gorgeous claret colored tweed overcoat, pulled it out, and wouldn't you know it fit my son in the shoulders perfectly. The fellow in the shop when we were there -- Turbo --was amazing. Honestly--just keep prodding him to learn more about how the store is stocked and the garments are made. He and his partner buy lovely hats, belts, luggage, and they design gorgeous shirts, waistcoats, jackets, suits, and overcoats. He even showed us a photo of the master weaver who creates their tweed. Now you are thinking that you can't possibly afford anything here. In fact, we found the prices remarkably fair. I have paid more money for lesser quality garments. My only regret is that we didn't have more time in Belfast -- and of course that I didn't think until they were closed to ask about how to purchase and tailor a coat to fit me. Needless to say, we will be watching their website, and next time we are in Belfast, this remarkable shop will be our first stop.

The staff in here are extremely knowlegable and very professional. My mum bought my Dad a shirt from here and for whatever reason she had to bring it back and when she did she said that the service she recieved was really, really top class. She said that she can usually find places like that intimidating but the staff in here made her feel at home and at ease. You can get all sorts of stuff in here. From wedding suits to cufflinks and beyond. They have an excellent website that will talk you through all you need to do. Really professional and excellent service from start to finish.

I discovered that even though it is not the cheapest shop on the high street the clothes do not wash well. I also think it has become a younger shop recently with cheap imitations of cat walk clothing - fur coats and spangly dresses can all be found here. Don't get me wrong one can pick up a decent little top for under fifteen quid and their hat/scarves/gloves selections are always really cute. I bought a nice little top the other day for £12.99 and it had flies all over it - perhaps not to everyone's taste but I like the quirkiness of it - probably won't wash well though. In conclusion I want to mention the mens department - my fiance has £100 of vouchers he received from various people for Christmas last year - he has attempted to spend them often but because he's not into bright yellows/pinks, silly prints and really low neck lines he is struggling! That should give you an idea of the men's garments - cheap and nasty in my opinion - the ladies wear is much nicer to look at and in selection but still not the best quality available on the high street.
