I was awarded honours for Drama when I was at school and went here to buy the special blazer, it was £90 which was a bit of a rip-off, but it was the only place you could buy the blazers so I don't really blame them for marking the prices up. Baillies is a Bangor institution and has been around for over five decades, supplying the young, old and men somewhere in between with suits, trousers, shirts, t-shirts, jackets, coats and knitwear. Despite the prices being of a slightly higher nature, Baillies often has really good discounts (hence why my dad loves it so), and you'll find yourself surprised at the bargains available. And yes, I know you're thinking I'm female (and you'd be perfectly correct), but I've been in Baillies many times before...with my dad of course. If you're a pupil at one of Bangor's schools, you can be sure to find your uniform at Baillies. While it may look intimidating from the outside, the guys inside this heavily wooden panelled step back in time are so friendly and helpful. As a woman it feels like all men's clothes look the same, but these guys will help you through the cuts and shapes or whatever these shirts are called with warmth and knowledge. OK, they aren't the cheapest menswear shop in town, but with their old club feel and service, they are up amongst the classiest.

Exhibit is just basically another of a long line of prodominantly women's clothes that is slightly expensive and for girls to dress up for a night out. That being said, the clothes usually seem to be of a high quality and any lady friend of mine that has shopped in here as usually looked pretty hot. The staff in here are usually young ladies and so can be a bit bitchy and not all that friendly any time I have been in. The service is certainly not 5-star. It is located in Bloomfield Shopping Centre so is nice and easy to get to with plenty of parking and ATMS.

Beautiful clothes which will make you drool and for a special occasion good value for money. The good news is that twice a year Excel has a great sale, which starts at 25% off and ends up at 75% off which is when the real bargains are to be found. Of course it's a fine balancing act between waiting for the prices to go down and making sure they still have stock left in your size. What I also like is that the sales staff give you the same level of service whether you are a customer who buys there every week or are like me and go in twice a year for the sales. Excel stocks ladies, men's and children's clothes and as they have another branch in Newtownards, they will be only too glad to try to track down your size if they don't have it. Boys' Timberland clothes and shoes have been particularly good bargains for me so give it a go.

I discovered that even though it is not the cheapest shop on the high street the clothes do not wash well. I also think it has become a younger shop recently with cheap imitations of cat walk clothing - fur coats and spangly dresses can all be found here. Don't get me wrong one can pick up a decent little top for under fifteen quid and their hat/scarves/gloves selections are always really cute. I bought a nice little top the other day for £12.99 and it had flies all over it - perhaps not to everyone's taste but I like the quirkiness of it - probably won't wash well though. In conclusion I want to mention the mens department - my fiance has £100 of vouchers he received from various people for Christmas last year - he has attempted to spend them often but because he's not into bright yellows/pinks, silly prints and really low neck lines he is struggling! That should give you an idea of the men's garments - cheap and nasty in my opinion - the ladies wear is much nicer to look at and in selection but still not the best quality available on the high street.

I would not tend to buy clothes from this shop but I have hired formal wear from this outlet. They are pretty lenient with the rules. I brought my suit back a day late covered in booze and god knows what else and they did not charge me an extra penny. I think they even uttered the phrase, "it happens!" It is refreshing to have a company being reasonable and human with it's customers. The price is really good too staring from £30 for formal wear hire.

They are currently selling suits from £25,.good quality stuff too, to make room for a refurbishment. And it's in need of one too. Only one changing room, and the store - downstairs at least is quite cramped and coed with stock (although that could be because of the sale). The two sales staff were very helpful and attentive, as you would expect from a suit retailer). All in all I had a pleasant experience shopping here. They did try to upsell me more items, but that is also to be expected and they weren't pushy about it. I got a very nice, good quality grey suit for £31 (I'm paying the extra £6 to have the trousers altered) and I will definitely be back there to shop again!

There are plenty of brightly coloured, highly written on t-shirts, shirts and jumpers in here for the man who wants to look like everyone else. They do also stock ladies wear although there are only a few pieces in tiny sizes and only suitable for the girl who dares to bare. The shoes are also either over priced flip-flops or towering platforms - nothing sensible really in clothing or shoe ware. I suppose a good place to take a teenager to get trendy clothing but mind your wallet as it is expensive.

The ground floor hosts ladies and kids clothing, accessories and footwear as well as toys and books. Upstairs is home to mens clothing and accessories, luggage and an excellent homeware department. I always find this store to be tidy and the staff are very helpful. There are loads of tills and a returns area so the checkout process is pretty fast. If you are a fan of a rummage check this branch out.
