I found myself back at POPT for the second time in the past few years. The first time was back in 2017 when I had to rehab from rotator cuff surgery. My results back then were more than anything I could have hoped for. This time I broke my ankle and needed emergency surgery. Two weeks after my surgery, I was told to start PT for at least 8-10 weeks. There was no doubt in my mind where I was going for my PT. The doctors at POPT are beyond amazing and really miracle workers as far as I am concerned. Dr Phil Lombardo is so knowledgeable and goes above and beyond in making sure all your issues are addressed. He is patient, answers all your questions and truly makes you feel cared for. There are so many things that set them apart from other PT facilities but what stands out for me as the most important factor is that the doc is hands on throughout your entire session. They don't just send you on your way for 40 minutes to do exercises on your own. Either Dr Phil, Dr Scott or one of the doctoral students were there to guide you, watch you and just be with you while you are doing what you need to do to get back to 100%. Not only are Dr Phil and Dr Scott unbelievable at what they do, Adrianna, the doctoral student doing a rotation there, was the sunshine everyone needed to make a painful process not so bad. Each and every intern there made me feel comfortable and would help me thru any task I was having a difficult time with. Cassiana is the first person you speak to and see when you walk in the door. She is an absolute pleasure and just adds to the specialness of this practice. I came to Paramus Orthopedic Physical Therapy for my TMJ of the jaw from an auto accident. I am working with Dr. Lombardo who like the rest of the team there is very knowledgeable about standard and out-of-the-box physical therapy treatment methods. I got their name from a personal recommendation and I later found out that lots of other people from my community also get their physical therapy here. They work with you 1 on 1 and everyone from Evelyn at the front desk to all the other physical therapists there are both nice and care about getting their patients back on their feet again more than anything else. Today I worked with Dr. Philip Lombardo and he is everything you could hope for in a doctor. Even though the practice does not accept my insurance, I'll be paying out of pocket for the rest of my sessions because I have no doubt that it's worth it. During my initial consultation, we did everything from an ultrasound, to hot/ cold therapy, to evaluating/testing my body to get to the root of my pain. I went to Paramus Orthopedic Physical Therapy because I had Bell's Palsy, a paralysis on one side of my face, which I got from Lyme's disease. I worked with Dr. Philip Lombardo once or twice a week for a month to get movement back in my face. I had read cases that Bell's Palsy can take months to get better, but with physical therapy it was 95% better in 4 weeks. Dr. Philip Lombardo is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and extremely caring when it comes to your health. The office is very open and not claustrophobic, it has a great atmosphere and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Went to see Dr. Phil Lombardo at Paramus Orthopedic Physical Therapy on the recommendation of our pediatrician for our 9 year old son, who complains of a stiff back at night after a day of physical activity. My son is a serious baseball player and we are concerned about the toll that playing a rigorous season of baseball on a few teams can take on his body. The office is clean and spacious, the staff is friendly. Dr. Lombardo is young, athletic, knowledgeable, and patient. He took the time to educate my wife and I about exercises my son could do to strengthen, balance, loosen, and exercise my son's muscles. He gave us strategies to warm up before games. Dr. Lombardo took the time to go over numerous exercises with my son, who enjoyed and had fun with the exercises. He also provided us with resources and recommendations for exercises that we could do at home. We left the visit educated, and with a practical approach to work through our son's issues. Dr. Phil Lombardo and his team are absolutely outstanding. My family's journey with him began 12 years ago when my mother in law had a double knee replacement. If it wasn't for not only his knowledge but his pure kindness and positivity I'm not sure she would have gotten through it. A couple years later he treated my mother for a knee injury and she had the same positive experience and of course her situation improved tremendously. About 2 years ago I was a patient of his with bulging discs in my neck and a shoulder injury. He and his team were there once again to help. About 2 months ago I texted Phil in need of a favor. My mother in law injured her knee and was told she needed a new knee replacement. Within minutes his office contacted her and scheduled an appointment for her to be seen by Phil. In as little as 1 week she felt improvement and was able to make the decision to not have surgery. I injured my lower back while doing heavy deadlifts about 6 months postpartum. I thought I would wait it out, rest and consult Dr. Google, but after 2 months my back wasn't getting any better and I caught a bad cold. Every time I sneezed or coughed my back would be in pain. Finally went to see POPT. I'm so glad I did. Dr. Danielle Rayder evaluated and treated me (not anything I would have expected - google failed me!) and within 3 sessions I pretty much felt amazing. I went back for 3 more session so they could test different movements (crossfit-related) and make sure I was protecting my back while continuing to do what I enjoy. Before I knew it, it was graduation day. Pain is nonexistent and I almost forgot what it felt like to dread coughing or sneezing.
