Originally from Boyne City, my family spends upwards of a month here in the summer, on extended vacations from Burbank. I've been floating for several years in places across southern California, and consider floating the single best thing one can do for stress and anxiety. I was beyond thrilled to discover that floating has come to northern Michigan, by way of Willoway. Having gone without a float session since March, I'd all but resigned myself to having to wait - and then, thankfully, came across Willoway's website, and scheduled a session with Christi. Floating! Here! I couldn't wait to check it out, and so glad I did: Out of all the floats I've had since 2014 (100+), this was definitely one of the most memorable - and everything about the experience was perfect. The float chamber is in its own private room, which includes a shower (for pre-float) and amenities. Once you've showered, you enter the float chamber by opening a door - get settled, push a button - and your float begins automatically. The light in the chamber fades out, and you float effortlessly on a bed of body-temperature-heated water. A few minutes prior to the end of your session, a gentle music cue signals the (near) end of the float, and the lights come up. I've been at other float places that "banged" on your tank when the time is up - very jarring! - Willoway is floating perfection, from start to finish. For those who've never tried floating: if you're coping with stress and anxiety (is anyone not?) and want to try something new, this is for you. There are many reasons why people float (pain relief, insomnia, others) - but for me, it's a "reset" and a welcome break from "fight or flight." For the uninitiated, there's a lengthy section on the Willoway website that will answer any questions you might have, and Christi will also take you through all you need to know, beforehand. Thank you, Willoway and Christi! Seriously, NoMi - if you're float-curious, give this a shot. You'll be amazed at what a 60-minute-break from the outside world can do - now, more than ever.

Another interesting aspect was the bed has speakers beneath it which resonate the surface, especially the lower frequencies. There is so much knowledge coming out about frequencies used for healing and can come from light, sound, and even smell all having frequency components. All in all looking forward to coming back and exploring more of their services like the float room and sound healing/salt room. My wife's facial was amazing and their focus on natural remedies is a welcome change!

My two teenage boys will go to anyone with availability on short notice and have never been disappointed. They both rave about the cuts and head massages so much that Papa now goes to Vogue too. Papa loves the pampering and looks forward to the herbal tea, conversation and massage. My 21 year old daughter came for a visit with badly bleached hair and Kyle fixed it back to a brown with dimension and it looked natural leaving my daughter feeling gorgeous again! All of the stylists at Vogue are blessed with wonderful personalities, talent for their trade and they listen to the client in the chair! Vogue is at a new location now which is just a block away from their old space. Parking is much easier although you need to be certain to have quarters for meters and the building is gorgeous and open. Without reserve I recommend Vogue and its stylists to seasonal visitors such as myself and residents of the area. A good salon is more necessary than a good mechanic shop!

We were lucky enough to find Vogue Salon and specifically Rachel and Katie. They were so sweet and most importantly provided great service. We were looking fabulous when we walked out the door and the best news is, they continue, 10 days later, to be perfect. We sure wish we lived anywhere in the state of Michigan because we would drive to get our haircuts with them. The salon was inviting to, it was chilly out and I was greeted with hot tea and a warm warm smile. Kudos to Rachel, Katie and Vogue.

When I arrived, I was told their office requires a referral even though BCBS does not, and that I would need to pay $150-$350 out of pocket unless I could obtain one while I waited. The front desk staff told me that if I had called instead of booking online, they never would have scheduled the appointment without a referral--which makes me question why their online system allowed me to book after I had already provided all of this information. When I explained that I could not afford the out-of-pocket cost and needed to cancel, the staff seemed frustrated with me despite this being something I had no way of knowing beforehand. Overall, the situation was handled poorly and the staff were not very helpful or understanding. Healthcare appointments can already be stressful enough. I would recommend going somewhere that communicates requirements clearly beforehand and treats patients with more understanding when issues arise.
