I arrived on time for my 9 AM appointment, but the salon wasn't fully prepared and was still getting ready. I went in with an idea of what I wanted. I showed a picture of the haircut to my stylist and she assured she could do it. Diana didn't engage in conversation but responded to my inquiries when I asked. Since she had another appointment, she only had time to give me the haircut. Despite my punctuality for the appointment, I had to switch to another stylist to have my hair done. I believe it was Elana who set my hair. The heat during the styling felt slightly intense. I've been a patron of another well-known salon in Canton for the past few years. Taki come close to achieving the desired result, but there are still some minor adjustments needed. Hoping this review will encourage them to make those improvements. Despite these minor issues, I'm giving a 4-star rating because I achieved the exact look I wanted. Diana gave a nice haircut and Elona styled it the way I wanted. In response to the questions I posed, Elona offered her expert guidance and recommendations. Overall, I am happy with the result and very reasonable prices.

This salon is adorable for starters, and the stylists were all also very nice. I worked with Maddy, who was very sweet. She washed my hair and put in the conditioning treatment and we jumped into the cut. I have long, thick hair and a ton of layers, and she took her time to carefully trim up what I wanted (I like my layers short, but I wanted hardly anything off the ends because I'm trying to grow my hair out even longer). She fixed my side-sweep bangs which were completely grown out, and after drying my hair with a blow dryer, we finished with her shaving a small area on the side of my head and giving me steps. This was something new that I had been wanting to try, and I was a little nervous about it, but she was confident and did a great job. Lastly, she put in a couple of hair feathers (not included in the Groupon obviously but I didn't mind paying extra)! I left very pleased with my experience and with my hair. Here's a link to see a photo of my haircut. I had never had the side of my head shaved before. Also, I would recommend taking cash to pay for anything and for your tip because they charge a couple dollar fee for paying with plastic. https://goo.gl/photos/Lk2eEGPscUmf4oUA6

Update after owner response:…read more I want to clarify a few things in response to the owner's reply, because it does not reflect what happened. The conversation that led to this situation was not started by me. While I was in the chair, the discussion had already shifted into conspiracy topics. A client then came in and brought up the Israeli prime minister and his cancer, making comments expressing happiness about it. The tone of the conversation included laughter and engagement from others around, which made it extremely uncomfortable to sit through. As a Jewish customer, I felt put in a very difficult position, especially being mid-service and unable to simply step away. The direction of the conversation is what led me to speak up and say that I'm Jewish and that I didn't agree, even though I was genuinely nervous to do so. When I said that, there was a visible shift, people were caught off guard, apologized, and said they don't hate Jews, they "just hate him." That does not change what was said or how it came across in that moment. The owner was the one cutting my hair and was part of the conversation. When I said I needed to leave, I was already overwhelmed and in a state of panic. My hair was not finished, and I had to ask for clips to be removed so I could go. I then found myself at a locked door and had to wait to be let out, which added to the distress of the situation. I do want to be clear that I did verbally express myself strongly toward the end. I'm not denying that. My reaction came after everything I had just experienced, not before. The owner's response mentions creating a safe environment and staff feeling uncomfortable. I did not create that situation, I reacted to it. I was the one sitting in the chair while this conversation was happening around me. After I spoke up, the response included references to "Jewish support groups" and comparisons between Jewish people and the queer community that felt dismissive and out of place given the context.
