I cant believe this, this review is also on the review centre site, so I will post the same response here as I did there! Some of these so called reviews really crack me up! I came onto this site to see about New ID before I went ahead and booked and read loads of good stuff but also came across some bad reviews too but they are so blatantly rubbish! And since I have used them and come back on here there are even more of these reviews that all give only one star! The 27th of January one really makes me smile and I love the bit about the sons foot being touched up so much it looked webbed! Why would you want a touch up on your foot anyway? From my experience the touch ups are to remove wrinkles and blemishes not turn your feet amphibious! Why would you touch up a childs face? Does she have premature aging? Come on New ID are a really professional company and I find it hard to believe that a company that are nationwide would A, be employing photographers that are so bad they could make a foot look so awful that B, some inept graphics expert would have such a hard job disguising it he or she would send out a picture with a webbed look that was preferable! This just has to be some kind of a joke. I am not a professional photographer by any means but I am a very enthusiastic amateur and as a consumer that has used the services of New ID I cant imagine picking, from the huge number of shots they take, a picture with a foot that looked so dodgy it had to be touched up to that extent! Also why would you wait six months to follow it up? All of these negative reviews bang on about shoddy pictures and writing letters, do you all live so far away from the studio that you can't go in and take up your complaints with them in person? Does anybody actually look into these bad reviews to make sure they are genuine? If I owned New ID I would be furious to read this kind of thing about my company and I think they should be given the opportunity to come on here and give their side of the story, can we ask them? I used New ID despite reading this kind of review and I would advise people to us their services because they are brilliant and staffed by a great team that love what they do, they are great at what they do and don't deserve this negative nonsense! read more

Fun Fun Fun is how I would like to describe New ID Makovers. I went with a friend who got some cheap vouchers for us online and booked me in as a surprise with her. She told me she was going and showed me the website and I was so jealous and then the day before she was going she told me that she had booked a spot for me as well. We spent the whole evening going through our wardrobes and picking out the outfits that we wanted to have our pictures taken in. We had just come back from holiday and both had a really good tan and after a bottle of wine we decided that we were going to do one shoot in swimwear, this seemed like a really good idea at the time but I think we both regretted it the next day but neither one of us wanted to admit it so we just kept our mouths shut and carried on with it. We got to the studio and we were both really excited and the staff made us feel so welcome it made it even more special. We had some bucks fizz that gave us both a bit of Dutch courage and then we watched in wonder as our transformations took place. I could not believe how different we both looked, my friends change was a bit more dramatic than mine because she went from being platinum blonde to chocolate brown but it was a really good decision because she looked like a movie star and it suits her so much better. Its really good getting to spend time with an image consultant because they really do know what will suit you even when you think that you know best. We were not at all nervous having our photos taken even though both of us thought that we would be, well that is not until it was time to put on our swimwear, we went all quiet and the staff knew that there was something wrong and when we told them they laughed with us, got some more Bucks Fizz going down and in the end we just went for it. The photographer was great and made us feel so comfortable that we got right into the swing of it and loved every second of it. The pictures said it all, they were really fab and we are both really glad that we went and both really glad we got our swim pics done and so will our boyfriends be who are both getting a framed picture for Christmas, we can hardly wait to see their faces! read more

That last review really cracked me up because I had a similar thing going on. My Mum is Mrs Bucket (not literally but near enough) and she has been trying to get me to make a bit more (quite a lot more) of my appearance for ages! She has never stopped going on at me and buys me all sorts of outfits that I would never wear in a million years, like the one out of Bridget Jones dairy, stuff that looks more like a curtain or a carpet than clothing! Anyway she got me the makeover for my birthday and gave me some money for the pictures as well, I was not really that up for it but once I had a look at the video on the New ID website it figured it didn't really look that bad and took a deep breath and booked the makeover. I got there late, very late, and was half expecting to be told that I had missed my slot because the salon looked well busy but there were fine about it. They are pretty good at New ID, they sit you down and figure out what you want to look like which is much better than I had expected because I was thinking it's a case of they get you in there and do all sorts to you and turf you out the other end looking nothing like the person you looked when you rolled in there in the first place. I am not big into makeup so I told them that really I was after a pretty natural look but it had to be a bit different or my mother would kill me and to be fair they did a pretty good job. I had a not too radical amount taken of my hair, I had been toying with the idea of going a bit shorter for a while as my hair is not what you would call a style so I was pretty happy with that. The make up I was dreading but it worked out really well, the woman that did it showed me how to put on makeup that makes it look like you are not wearing any which sounds daft but it evened out the tone of my skin and made my eyes look massive so I gained on that score as well. I don't mind larking about in front of the camera at all so I had no issue with the pictures and they came out really good and I have to say that I did look pretty nice in them and as much as I hate to admit it, I do make a bit more of an effort to look pretty these days, just a bit! read more

All my mates will laugh at me writing this but I have always wanted to be a movie star the only person who is sympathetic to his is my best friend who brought me a voucher to have a makeover so I could at least feel as glamorous as a movie star, even for just one day. I called the company Bethany had chosen for me, which was New ID Studios and booked an appointment and picked out 4 outfits to be photographed in. I thought they gave you the clothes but as it turned out I felt a lot more comfortable in my own! It seemed like ages but eventually the big day arrived and I went to the studio where I was welcomed, given a drink and then we had a chat and decided what they were going to do with my hair and with my make up. Then it would be time for the photo shoot. I loved the make up but it was a lot more than I am used to using but you cant tell in the pictures because the lights strip a lot of it off. We used scarves and accessories to create different looks and lots of different backgrounds. The pictures worked out a lot better than I though they would and I was shocked how pretty I looked in some and glamorous in others. I think its great how one person can have totally different looks just really based on what you are wearing and I guess the lighting and the way the photographer captures different essences of you, quite a talent. After the hair and make up, nails and photos I had about a 30 minute wait before viewing the pictures so I went relaxed with a glass of Bucks Fizz there were plenty of drinks on offer during and before the shoot which was great too. Picture selection was hard I got it down to the 20 that I liked the best and then to 10 and settled on 8 after that because they are not really what I would call cheap. I would have brought more if I could have done however the ones I did choose are lovely and I have given the one my sister that particularly liked and another to my parents who insisted on having one! I just have to tell you how great I think having a makeover is, I have not got any big story about courage or weight loss, or a bad break up, I was really just plane old bored and fancied a change, I couldn't afford to move house, I have a pretty busy life and didn't really want to take up a new hobby I just felt like doing something different and couldn't think what to do. I mentioned to a friend of mine that I was a bit restless and she suggested that we go and get a makeover so we looked around online and chose New ID because we really like their website. After deciding which makeover we wanted we got a voucher and then phoned up and made an appointment. It was all very easy to book. We miraculously arrived on time, neither one of us is known for our time keeping and we got a very warm welcome and an even more welcome glass of Bucks Fizz. We had a nice consultation with really friendly girl before going on to get our hair done, we both had very chatty friendly stylists that did a good job of our hair and we were both really happy with the styles and the cuts. Makeup was way better than I expected, not only was it great fun and we both looked amazing it was a real makeup education, I learnt so much about makeup on that day, not least of which concealing spots that just cant leave alone even though you know damn well the best way to get rid of it is to leave it, I had managed to pick the living daylights out of mine and ended up with a crater on my face, but in the pictures you can hardly even see it, makeup miracles go on at New ID I am telling you! So looking like a right pair of sexy divas we strutted out funky stuff in the photo shoot and ended up with some pretty amazing pictures of us looking very very hot. Of course choosing just a few of them was pretty painful and next time we go we are going to make very sure we can afford more of them but in terms of the experience it is one of the most fun things I have ever done and I think that everybody should have a go! read more

I had a wonderful make over with New ID studios, it's a really and fun salon and as well as doing the makeovers they also have their own excellent line of cosmetics. I went to the Newcastle branch, its not a very big branch but it doesn't need to be because it is proper organsised and what I really liked was that the staff make you feel very welcome. I liked the way they had decorated the salon and how it all worked, the is a sort of seating area where you get your consultation before they start, the rest of it looks like a hair salon. I made the booking over the phone, you pay a deposit that is none refundable first and then if you want to deposit more money you can do this and the money is matched by the company so you get twice as much to spend on the day. I made my appointment for 9am, when we got there I was offered a drink but it was Bucks Fizz I don't think it is a good idea drinking at that time in the day so I stuck to coffee but I did have a Bucks Fizz before I went in to have the pictures done The photos were good fun and there where lots of backgrounds as well as a big circle you sit in, then they take pictures of you on the fire escape which is kind of strange but it really worked out well in the pictures. I took three different outfits and was left alone in the studio to change so it was nice and private. One the pictures are done they get uploaded onto a computer and then you go through them and choose the ones that you want. It was really hard to decide because there are so many good photos. I opted for digital images that were put onto a CD. If you want to have some alterations to the pictures you can do that too and even though I promised myself not I did get a few wrinkles air brushed out! You really cannot beat a bit of good old fashioned girl time, some pampering and some time away from all of your responsibilities. This is something that as much as I love I hardly ever get to do, so when my best friend told me she was treating me and her other best friend to a Celebrity photo shoot and makeover at New ID wild horses could not have kept me away from the place. I had never previously had a makeover before but my sister had one with New ID a few years ago and really rated it and in fact I have one of the photos from her day on my wall, it is amazing. We were so excited about spending some time together it turned out to be just as good as we had imaged. First up, there is nothing quite like walking into a place and the first thing that happens is you get a glass of bubbly in your hands and this was before the registration. That put me in the right mood from the outset and it just got better and better. The next thing after the part where they ask you questions about your day is that you get your hair done. I had my straightened, they did a far better job on it than I ever do so I brought a pair of their straighteners! Then we had our makeup done, we were lucky because at that time we were the only ones there so we got to have it done all at the same time. Then after a bit more bubbly we went into the photo shoot. We did some shots one at a time first and then some all together. It was great and we were all surprised how confident we felt, sure that had heaps to do with the bubbles. We went off to lunch for an hour or so then came back to choose our pictures, which was torture because we wanted all of them. In the end we spent about five hundred pounds each give or take, we all got a free print and I found out later the vouchers cost twenty five pounds, which I think is an excellent price for all that you get with New ID read more

I went to the London West End branch of New ID for my makeover. I am in the broken relationship corner for reasons to have a makeover! The salon is pretty easy to find on John Princes Street which is just off Oxford Street not far from the Oxford Circus tube. Due to a very heavy commitments schedule I went on a Sunday morning at 8am, I had no idea they would even be open at that time especially on a Sunday. The reason I chose New ID is their association with Burlingtons who have been on my list of preferred hairdressers for a long time! Burlingtons stylists are the best I have found and do a marvelous job of getting volume into your hair, my hair has no volume but with the use of Moroccan oil, Curlup Control crème and power whip I have more volume than I know what I am doing with, the products are great and actually do what they say on the tin! Although I have used Burlingtons for years I had never had a makeover before, I was really looking forward to it and I knew if it was part of Burlingtons it would be good and it was. I was seriously impressed with the cosmetic range that New ID have made, there are some great products and they are not expensive. I found they applied very well and I was really happy with the way they felt on my skin and my skin felt amazing even after I had removed the makeup that night, yes, it stayed on all day! I loved the way the experience panned out, it was neither slow nor rushed and all ticked over at a nice pace with everybody doing their bit to make the day special and unique. I was quite impressed with how they managed to fit so much into the small photographic room it is quite clever how they can pull a screen down here and a chair over here and a curtain here to give a unique look to each picture. I chose four pictures and cant wait to take delivery of them sometime in the next couple of weeks. read more

My makeover at New ID was pretty cool. I have been a bit bored of my hair for a long time. I have had the same style for years and thought it was time for a change. I was searching about online and came across New ID and thought it was a great idea. I was amazed to see that some of the makeovers were as little as twenty five pounds. However those did not include a hair wash and cut, only styling. I went for the Deluxe version that included a wash and a cut. I got to the salon a just after 10am for a 10-30 start. I had a bit of a wait when I got in there as I was early but I filled in some forms and they gave me some before and after shots in a portfolio to have a look at, that was great and made it even more exciting for me. My turn came and I had a long chat with the hairdresser who suggested several different styles that would suit me and that I would be able to manage myself. I chose my cut and she did a really good job for me. After that I had to wait about ten minutes for the makeup artist. She did the same as the hair dresser, suggested a few styles and we chose one that would match the mainly evening wear that I had taken along to have my pictures taken in. Once my makeup was done I had to wait half an hour for the photographer. It was all really good but the waiting around got really annoying after a while. The shoot was worth the wait when I got in there, it was good fun and I had a really nice time with the girl that took the shots. Then more waiting, this time nearly an hour to see the shots, but again it was worth the wait. The decision on which ones to have was agonizing but I got there in the end. I think if there was not waiting around time this experience would be very nearly perfect. read more

I was given a lovely warm welcome at the Manchester branch of New ID by Alex the receptionists who quickly and efficiently dealt with my booking. I was then put into the capable hands of stylist Cathy who very quickly gave my hair an appraisal and gave me several styling options to choose from, I was very impressed with her professionalism and her understanding of my hair that is very coarse and curly. Cathy gave me a stunning cut that I am very impressed with. Once my hair was done and I had enjoyed some interesting conversation with Cathy it was time to meet my makeup artist Jade who, like Cathy, had a look at my skin type and quickly established from my bone structure and colouring the best look for me and she did a great job as well. Feeling very gorgeous and confident I was then delivered into the photo shoot where Ritchie worked his magic while at the same time making me feel very comfortable and happy. He showed me how to pose and made the whole thing a whole heap of fun and he captured some incredible shots of me that I viewed with a lovely girl whose name I think was Katie. She was very kind to me and not in the least bit pushy and I felt I had plenty of time to view the shots and choose which ones I wanted. Only one or two were not great so those got discarded first and then I was faced with the hard task of picking the ones to keep, it is not easy. In the end, after much deliberation I decided not to get prints and frames as I had originally planned but to get a CD of the images. That way I could keep more of them and print them off and frame them later as well as using them for profile pictures and the likes as well. I thought all of the makeover I had at New ID was good other than the haircut which was alright but it was not of the high standard of the rest of the makeover that was top notch. I am not sure if it was a different hairdresser than they normally use but she didn't seem to have been there very long it is a shame really because the rest of it was fantastic. Being in the photo studio was everything that I had dreamed it would be, for years I have wanted to be a model, but I know that I will never be one because I am not tall enough but I think now that I have been to New ID and I have some really amazing pictures of me that show my versatility there might be a chance that I can get some glamour modeling work. Going to New ID has given me so much more confidence in myself, it was amazing to have the makeup done there, they did the best that I could have hoped for and it really showed off my features. I am so happy with the pictures and it has given me that boost that I needed. It would be really hard to imagine that the pictures I have are not of a professional model, they are that good. Obviously because I have spent so much time looking into being a model I had a good idea about how to act in front of the cameras and how to pull a pose but even if you had on idea you will still be fine because the photographer is so friendly and they go over what you need to do, its great and they are all very friendly and very supportive and they give you lots of great advice. I am really glad that I chose New ID for my makeover, thought they might talk me out of modeling but as a matter of fact they gave given me that little boost that I needed to fight for the future I want. read more

I went to New ID to cheer myself up after coming back from holiday and finding that I had left my camera on the plane, for some reason it was never handed in so I had just spent three weeks getting the best tan I have ever had to find that I had no evidence of it what so ever. I needed a hair cut when I got back and was asking the girls at work where was the best place to go and they said that Burlingtons was really good and when I looked them up online I found New ID and thought it would be a cool way to replace a picture or two and also a great way to get a haircut at a fraction of the price that I normally pay. Because the cost of the haircut was part of the makeover that I only paid forty pounds for I was fully expecting the hair cut to be a bit half hearted but it was fantastic and I will be going back again just to make use of the fabulous hairdressing. The makeup was just as good, again I thought that as it was such a low price it would be OK for the camera but was not expecting long lasting really good makeup products or the end result to be so astounding. The photo session was just as good in terms of quality and I was really impressed with the photographer that I got on really well with, he made me smile and feel very confident and he captured some really great shots. I found all of the staff to be pretty exceptional and I got a whole heap more than I expected for my money. The choice of the pictures was pretty agonizing because there were so many to choose from but with the help of the very friendly and 'non pushy' viewing assistant I got there in the end. There are good and bad things about having a makeover with New ID but it is mostly good. The first thing that could be better is that once you have the voucher you order from the internet you have to phone up and book and if you want to go on a weekend you literally have to book weeks in advance. They suggested that you go during the week as it gets so busy at the weekend, I did not want to wait six weeks to go on the weekend so in the end I took a day off work and went during the week. It was not that buys and I didn't have any waiting around time that I have read about this company so in the end I guess it worked out better for me than I expected. The makeover is a dream come true. There is nothing bad to say about it, not in my experience at least, it all went really well for me and I was thoroughly satisfied with both my hair and my makeup. The photos session went well, I would have loved to have taken by Bucks Fizz in with me but that is just for the make over bit! The photos came out really well, it was hard to choose from them but the man that showed them to me was good at helping me pick the best ones but the room was very small and I think it would be a lot better if it was a more comfortable environment, plus you don't get that long to go through them so that could be better. I don't think the photos are out priced as I have also read but I do think it would be better, when you are paying that kind of money that they do not take two months to get to you even though I can hand on my heart say that they are really worth waiting for. I think New ID is mainly good but a couple of changes and it could be prefect! read more

My husband and I were given a voucher to have a Deluxe makeover for two at New ID as a gift from my parents. I had never done anything like it before and they have never brought me anything like that before either but I thought it was a very imaginative gift and since I we have been and really enjoyed the experience we have done the same for lots of members of my family, in fact, there is hardly anybody in our family that does not have fantastic pictures of themselves on the wall these days. The Deluxe for two is ninety pounds and it includes two complimentary prints but if you want more than that you have to buy them. The thing that I did like was that they come in lots of different sizes that are all different price so you could get quite a few even if you were on a budget. The experience itself was really good. We both really enjoyed it, John was a bit unsure about the whole thing as he is not exactly confident in front of a camera and on the whole is the one that tries to stay out of pictures, especially as these days they end up all over facebook. He is not the most photogenic guy I the world, well he wasn't until he got to New ID. He could not believe, and actually neither could I, how incredible he looked in the pictures, it is quite astounding what a great hair cut and some foundation can do for a guy, oh and having your rather bushy eye brows put into some sort of a decent shape. We found the photo shoot not only good fun but pretty romantic as well and we will certainly be going back again sometime and continuing to use New ID vouchers as very special gifts for people. read more

I thought that New ID were totally fantastic. I have never had such a warm welcome from any sort of beauty place or hair salon. I felt comfortable and welcome from the second I got through the door. I only took along two outfits as I actually don't have four that I wanted to have my picture taken in, so I thought that the photos would all look pretty similar but with the creative use of backgrounds and props and lighting I had so many to choose from it was actually a bit of a nightmare trying to figure out which ones to buy, I had hoped with less outfits that would not be the case, but they were all so good. I did not have a lot of time to choose from the ones I had taken either because the salon was really busy on the day that I went but I am sure I got the right ones! My only comment is that they do use an awful lot of makeup but they have to do that for the pictures as they use very bright lights in the photo room. I was a bit concerned when they put it on that it would look too vampish in the photos but it looked perfect, so if you go along don't worry when they start plastering it on, it looks great at the end of the day. The photo shoot was amazingly good fun, so again don't worry about that, I was really worried about it even though I wanted to have some great pictures of me, but its fine, they make you feel very relaxed and very comfortable. The third thing is take the time to go online and check the price of the pictures firsts, they are a bit more than I was expecting but I can tell you that this experience is fantastic and well worth what you pay for the photos. read more

Having a makeover at New ID is a wicked thing to do, me and me mate went and we loved every second of it, it was well good. When you get in they give you a really nice warm hello and makeup you feel really welcome, we both felt great from the second that we got in there, after you have booked in etc they sit and give you a bit of an interview about what you want and how you want to look and what you like for your hair and stuff like that then you go off and get your hair done and get your makeup done and the whole time they are giving you free drinks, Bucks Fizz, sparkeling wine etc, it is really great. They done a great job of both our hair and our makeup and we both reckon we would go again if we wanted some really good makeup done for a special occasion or something like that, we were both well pleased with it all. we had to wait ages for the photographer who was spending a long time with another client, she was older and was making a lot of noise so I am not entirely convinced it was his fault, I heard her moaning during the makeover, I think she thought it was plastic surgery and she wanted to look a lot younger than she was but hey, even though they do a great job it is not a miracle cure for age! So in we went and we had a really good time, if he had of been fed up by her he did not take it out on us one bit and he was happy and professional and did some awesome pictures for us, we both wished we could have had more of the shots but they were are bit out of our price range because we are both students but we still managed to get four each so we were well happy! read more

My partner and I took our 2 kids for a days shoot after buying 2 half day sessions at £25. When we got there we were kept waiting for over 90 minutes. The photographer made it clear that she was not happy and frustrated with working with young children. The sales staff were pushy but no more than you would expect from such a role. After 16 weeks (they say to allow 8) we still had not received the 2 free prints nor the disc of touched up pictures. I called and was told that they would be sent out shortly. Within the next few weeks the 2 photos arrived. They had been so harshly touched up that my sons foot looked webbed and my daughter had lost any facial features making her look like a plastic doll. I called back to advise them of my issues with the photos and the lasck of disc. I was told it was being sent again and that they could do nothing about the touching up as they couldn't see what had been done. I wrote several letters to New ID and failed to get a single response. I informed the finance company and refused to pay anything towards the cost of the services. After 6 months I decided to start chasing them for the 2x£25 session fees and the £50 deposit. So far all I have been told is that they DO NOT cancel contracts, this is despite the terms and conditions saying that iff goods or services are not delivered either they or I have a right to cancel after 8 weeks and a written 30 days notice which they have been given. I am now in the process of seeking legal advice. I would NOT advise anyone to use their services in any way. read more

I have just had my first every makeover and it was fantastic and way more enjoyable than I had expected it to be. I am not sure exactly what it was that made it so great but I guess it was a combination of really friendly staff that go out of their way to make you look and feel totally amazing, a really nice salon that is nicely decorated and has a really great atmosphere, the Bucks Fizz that is free certainly added to it, who does not enjoy a few free bubbles and I guess one of the main factors is that they do such a great job of your hair and makeup. I was impressed how much thought goes into it all really, it is not a case of getting there, being shoved on a conveyor belt and coming out looking different at the other end. You get a consultation when you get there and you sort of decide between you how you want to look and I thought that was really nice and to me it was a bit unexpected because it doesn't really show you that bit on the videos they show on their website, talking of the website I loved the way it is laid out, it is really easy to find all of the information that you are looking for and it is very easy to figure out how much it is all going to cost, I think they are very open about the cost of the pictures and I for one did not find any hidden costs that had not already been laid out to me on the website. The New ID staff are very helpful, kind and considerate and make you feel both welcome and comfortable. For me I don't see any down side to this experience other than it takes weeks for the pictures to get to you. read more

I wanted to get some nice pictures done of my twins and was really shocked to find out how much it cost when I approached a couple of photographers that I found online in my area. I was about to ditch the idea as to me it was just cost prohibitive then a friend of mine put me on to New ID. I was shocked when I visited their website to find that the Kiddies makeover deal was only twenty pounds. I read through all of the terms and conditions and found nothing that put me off the idea so I went ahead and booked it. We got to the studio and were giving a very warm welcome from the staff who were completely brilliant with my twins. I was a bit worried that they would not be prepared for my rowdy five year olds but they all took them completely in their stride and the twins have not stopped taking about the day. The photo shoot was so much fun, we took lots of different outfits along and I think I have two budding models on my hands, I have never seen such huge smiles and the kids having so much fun. Like the rest of the staff the photographer was utterly great with the kids and clearly very used to having little people that can be a hand full in front of his camera. It was so hard to choose which shots to have, there were so many great ones but we got lots of help from the man that showed us the picture and we chose six really good 5 7 ones that we are going to get framed and two of which will be going to the grandparents on each side. New iD are a really great kid friendly company and do a superb job of getting great kid pictures read more
