But until recently, scheduling conflicts always prevented me from enrolling. Luckily, that changed last month, when my husband, brother, and sister-in-law signed up for a Vietnamese spring roll class taught by Kevin Nguyen, the owner of Pho 75 in Windsor Locks. New to the adult ed "scene," we weren't sure what to expect when we pulled up to our local high school. The class was taught in a home ec room, and we were joined by fifteen or so other people, varying in age from teenage to senior citizen. Kevin provided a recipe-- and of course, all of the ingredients-- then demonstrated the process. He was engaging and friendly as he demystified seemingly complicated techniques, and we really enjoyed the two-hour class. We each made between four and six spring rolls (which were delicious, by the way), and it was well worth the low $22 fee. We've since made spring rolls at home, and are so glad to have learned how to do it! I would encourage anyone-- you don't even have to be a Windsor Locks resident, although they do receive priority-- to check out the town's (or your town's) adult ed offerings. Classes are usually fairly inexpensive, and hey, it'll keep you off the streets. ;)

I can speak to the quality of the CSB class experience…read more I just finished the Broadcast Media class and I can attest to the fact that it is possibly the single best investment you can make in yourself if you have any interest in Media production. From video to audio, talent or production, this is not only a great starting point but the CSB staff are committed to getting students placed. This is because they operate more like a guild and consider the quality of the students they educate to be the benchmark by which they are judged. However, it is also true that it takes personal effort after the class to get into the business. And, my efforts will likely start with an internship or entry level gig. Nonetheless, I can truly share that this feels like the start to a new chapter in my career path. Thanks CSB.

The class was well structured and although there was a lot of material covered, it was both comprehensive and easy to understand. Michael had a deep understanding of the subject and provided many real life examples that helped clarify concepts. The handouts and online tools were a great addition to help study and Michaels friendly email encouragements after the course to keep studying were also beneficial. Overall, I would highly recommend this course for anyone looking to achieve their PMP certificate.

Clarity Ed is stuck in the past! My child went for the Digital SAT training and wasted $3,000 for…read moreno gain. Some highlights of the review are below. 1. The instructor (Dr. Bob) does not share any strategies for the Digital SAT, but rather teaches using the Barons SAT Test Prep book (with the front page changed from 'Baron's' to 'ClarityEd'!! What a shame. 2. Digital SAT and its strategies differ from the paper SAT from 2023. Dr. Bob has no clue of what to expect in Digital SAT. He has no idea about the strategies for reading and writing for grammar, transitions, vocabulary, etc. 3. Dr. Bob uses the questions from the College Board practice tests (DSAT 1 through DSAT 6) for practice before kids take the practice test. This way, the students have already seen the questions and when they actually take the Dt practice tests, they score well, because they've seen the questions already. 4. Dr. Bob is notoriously secretive that he does not even have any reviews online. He says he graduated from a prestigious institution, with no credentials whatsoever to back that claim. I doubt if he has any of that sort of educational pedigree. 5. After the test was done and when my child did not receive the intended score, I asked how Dr. Bob could help to improve his score in the next attempt. With $3,000 in his pocket, and nothing further to offer, Dr. Bob never returned the call. It's no surprise for me that Dr. Bob disappears now that I think back through the events. For those who join through word of mouth (because this guy has no reviews online), please make sure you know what you get. I'd say, look for folks who have strategies that line up with the Digital SAT and are not stuck in the past and secretive.
