I want people to know what these people did to me…read more I came to UConn February 2024 for a routine colonoscopy. I had a long history of colon problems and did this every 5 years. When the procedure was done, I was told I was in great shape and didn't need to come back for 10. Well, 90 days later I was back in their er with abdominal pain. I was given a dose of strong pain meds and when it wore off I was told to leave. I asked what I was to do when the pain returned and was told I was to just go. I have no recall of seeing a doctor that night. 30 days later I was at Manchester memorial complains of the same problem. They did a ct scan and told me that half my colon was infected. I went to icu and was on strong antibiotics for about 30 days. The antibiotics failed to correct the issue and , after 30 days I was transferred to Hartford hospital where my large intestine was removed . I now have a permanent ileostomy. When I complained about this, John Dempsey listened, at first, then my calls went largely unanswered. My life will never be the same. I have diet restrictions, and the starts to kidney disease, "unfortunate side effects ". I will tell my story to anyone who wants to hear it. This hospital is a joke and should be avoided.

Beautiful campus. So clean. Lots of decent dining options. Easy to walk and felt safe.Town is…read morebeautiful.

We are so happy we found CCC. We knew it was the right choice from the moment we toured…read more1) Nature-based. The kids go outside 2 hours a day (and even on hiking trails!), every day, rain, snow, or shine. They even have rain pants to be sure the kids will stay dry and a functioning mud kitchen, outdoor music area, etc. No astroturf here, and not just lip service about taking the kids outside. My daughter is so much happier when she gets to swing, climb, run, etc! 2) Dedicated and caring long term staff. Ask around. Most staff at most early learning centers have a quick turnover. Here the teachers have been here for years and years, if not decades. A true family. 3) Focus on social and emotional development. My children have been at three centers, and compared to others, they are much more effective and helping children grow into empathetic and kind people. 4) Small ratio for older kids. Most centers follow a 10:1 ratio for ages 3+. Here it's always less than 8:1, and often ~6:1. You can imagine how much calmer the classroom is when there's a smaller number of kids. it's also a larger classroom compared to other places we've seen. 5) Imaginary play happens so much here- a fort with a ladder to climb up, pretend kitchen area, large blocks, babies and a "family" area, etc.

Our son loves coming to school every day and we've seen him flourish through the patient and knowledgable care given by his wonderful teachers. Lessons and daily activities are well-planned and developmentally appropriate. Our family feels comfort knowing that Willow House is licensed by the OEC and that Executive Director Susan runs the center like a wheel oiled machine with thoughtful policies and procedures to keep the children safe and sound. We feel blessed that we were able to secure a space at this wonderful center.

As a mom who had only let my mom and mother in law watch her while I was at work it was definitely an adjustment for me but Willow House showed me they care for my daughter just like she is part of their family. My daughter attends the preschool program three full days a week with the before and after care program and the amount she has learned in these past months is incredible. The preschool teacher Jess is amazing and the main reason why we picked this program. The lessons and themes are constantly changing and the children are learning new things everyday. I am amazed to see the progress my daughter has made thus far. When I ask my three year old what she loves about Willow House she tells me the activity centers which are constantly changing based on the theme of the week. I am so thankful to have found Willow House and would highly recommend this center to all my friends.
