Where do I begin? My wife purchased an adult trike for my daughter last May from here. She is…read moresuffering from post-concussion syndrome so we didn't think a two-wheeler was appropriate at this time. My wife originally purchased a bike at Wal-Mart but Sam, the owner, convinced her NOT to buy there because you'll just be a number and it'll take forever to get parts and we won't get that personal service. That part comes in handy later in the story. Incidentally, the bike was $800 retail. We get the bike May of 2019. Daughter loves it. Takes it everywhere. She's 9. By August there is an issue with the back left wheel. When she stops pedalling it slowly comes to a halt. Never happened before. Certainly didn't ship that way. In order to coast she had to pedal constantly. I take it back. Takes 2 weeks but they tell me it's fixed. The Fall comes around and there's no other issues. Mid-May of 2020 the weather is warm enough to break out the bikes. The problem persists. She stops pedalling, the bike stops. So I take it back again. Now remember, fitting an adult trike into an SUV is no small feat. I explain the issue. They should be aware of it. It's been in the shop twice in the first year. He has to order the part. I get it. Things take time. They had the bike 6 weeks - 6 WEEKS!! I called 3 times to enquire and was made to feel like i was a pain in the ass each time. One time I called and the woman didn't put me on hold and I heard her enquire about the status of the blue adult trike. Sam's reply could clearly be heard across the shop floor "He'll get it when it's done." I called last night and miraculously it's done today. 6 WEEKS LATER! I'm awoken to a call from him tell me a sob story about how he worked late last night and he's only going to charge me for labour. Like he's doing me a solid. After having the bike for 6 weeks he's doing me the honour of only charging me labour on a bike that should still be under warranty. He tells me the supplier is out of business. Honestly, not my problem. Choose your suppliers a little more carefully. I walk in, spin the tires - it's NOT FIXED! Exact same issue. I tell him it's unacceptable. Clearly doesn't give two shits. Blames COVID-19. I tell him I should have taken it to Main Cycle in Hamilton. He tells me maybe I should have and starts motioning me to the door. Granted, I went off the rails a tad and dropped a few F bombs but like i said earlier, this is completely unacceptable. Sam kept saying "what do you want me to do?" I want you fix it to my satisfaction is what i want you to do. You own a bike shop, not me. I always do my best to support local businesses. The economic benefits to the surrounding community are countless. It's business 101, really. But in this instance we would have been much better off buying from a faceless monolith corporation. They would have replaced the whole bike - TWICE. Suffice to say, I will not be back. And I strongly urge you to heed my warning when i say BUYER BEWARE!

The Eggs Benedict could have been a little bit runnier. On a better note, an order of their Friar Tuck's Breakfast $16.99 has very generous servings and should be more than enough for a breakfast meal. Service at the restaurant was a little off. There was only 1 person waiting on tables, and as a result you would often find yourself having to wait to be attended to. Arriving at the restaurant, we had to wait for quite a while before we were escorted to our seats. During the dining time itself, other than bringing our food orders to our table there was only 1 time we were checked up on and that was for a coffee refill. Lastly, our server was a little too much chatty and smart-mouthed which may not be appreciated by all diners. There is a wide range of customer personalities, and some diners may just want to dine and dash and avoid small talk.

We were greeted by a waitress who was beyond friendly in a good way. Her name was Kell and she was so helpful and sweet. If I had a restaurant I would want her to work there. She was telling us about the menu and specials, explaining how everything is made fresh in the morning from scratch. How the special changes every weekend etc. just a lovely lady. The Lunch special of the day was: a bowl of soup, sandwich of the day and salad or fries with a drink for $9.99!!! Seriously. All of that was 9.99. The soup of the day was German Potato and although I was sceptical as to wether or not I would like it, I liked it... A LOT. Let me be clear this soup was not beautiful to look at, I gave it the side eye before delving in but in the end no regrets. Perfectly seasoned rich creamy soup loaded with large chunks of yummy sausage. Was good to the last drop. The sandwich of the day was Toasted Western which was egg, cheese, ham with onions and peppers. I am a total egg person and I like it quite a bit. I paired that with a side salad which was loaded with nicely chopped fresh crispy veggies and leafy greens which as anyone who is a side salad over fries person will tell you should be an easy thing to make but usually turns out crappy, not this time. The chef spent time beautifully chopping up nice fresh veggies there was not a crappy wilted or mushy veggie to be found. Salad win. My husband got the same thing but with fries instead of salad. Although I don't like fries I did try some because he got this amazing little dish of gravy to go with. Well that gravy was the most rich, perfectly seasoned and sumptuous gravy I have had. It was knock your your socks off delicious. All and all my comment to my husband was "It's like you went over to someone's house who makes everything from scratch and is really good at cooking". It is a nice friendly environment with simple good food. Kell told us all about the Saturday night buffet and Sunday brunch buffet which sound like a great value and based on our experience something we are very interested in trying. GO HERE!!!

Answer: Although they get you to sign an agreement stating you need one, we were told legally we did not need one. WRONG!! It is illegal to have a pool without a fence permit, which could result in huge fines and the dismemberment of our pool. 2. Will they be bringing in machinary to dig due to our fencing situation. Answer: No. They will dig it all by hand. WRONG!! It wasn't until after the pool was paid for and delivered that we were informed that we would have to remove half our fence, including posts (which are 3 feet in the ground) otherwise pay $400 extra to dig by hand 3. Will they remove sod / dirt etc. Answer: Yes, we take care of all of this. WRONG!! We were also informed at the time of delivery that it would be an extra $350 to have the sod hauled away. Bottom line: They either do not train their sales staff properly, or they just dont give a damn about lying to their customers in order to get a sale. I would not recommend this company to purchase a pool from.

My husband and I had a blast taking a Charcuterie board making class together this summer. I found…read morethe course on Eventbrite, and it made for a fun experiential birthday gift. We started in the gift shop / wood gallery, and were given a run down of the day, safety instructions and learned about different kinds of wood. The wood we worked with was sourced locally by the wood shop next door - McCormack Timber Supply Company. We learned how charcuterie boards are traditionally made out of wood that bears fruit or vegetables like cherry, olive etc. Now that's been expanded for many kinds of wood. We got to select our plank of wood to work with. Next we moved into the wood working shop area and we were all given tools to sand down and smooth out the planks. It was fun to work with the rasp and electric sander. I recommend wearing closed toed shoes, clear communication with your partner, and asking for safety goggles if needed. There were about 10 others on our class and there was plenty of space and tools for everyone. Lastly we covered the wood with finishing oil. Then we went to a charcuterie plating demonstration in another room where some of the food elements were already set up. We learned how to make roses out of salami, some secret cheese display tricks, pops of flavor from suggested sides and other composition tips. So fun to see it all come together. Lastly we went next door to the Clifford Brewing Company in their lovely space and got a sample flight of 4 beers to pair with a charcuterie sampler with elements from the example board. Yum!! So nice to chat with our classmates and get their take on the snacks and beers too. We loved this class so much and recommend it highly to anyone who loves hands on art projects, snack arranging and tasting & beer varieties. Such a memorable experience and love our homemade charcuterie board souvenir!
