So what was a small job in terms of the work required was super important to me that I find someone who would get it done correctly. When I waked into Frame Masters Gallery, right at the height of the holiday busy season, I was anxious that this might not be possible. My blessed luck was to meet Christina Martin, who sensed the urgency i was feeling, and dropped what she was doing and immediately began to effect my repair. Few owners have this sense of being able to see how important a job -- even a little job -- can be to a customer, and respond accordingly. They carry over 1,000 frame choices from simple to extremely ornate. They, like most frame shops, have a generous amount of matting options as well including various textures: silks, suedes, leathers, etc. They turnaround your order in about a week which seems sooner than most other local framers. It's not only art and photographs that they work with. They do mirrors and jerseys as well. They have a nicely done, framed jersey on display which exemplifies their craftsmanship. To get something similar done, it will cost around $300 which is a bit higher than most others charge. Currently, they are having a sale on their prints. In the window, they have a few large and beautiful pieces of art for purchase. One piece was originally marked at $375 and is now only $195. Parking is not too much of a problem since there are free spots along Mills that never seem to be completely taken.

We went to Baterby's after we saw their Picasso exhibition in the Orlando Weekly calendar. I hadn't…read morepreviously seen the gallery pop up when I searched for art spaces in the area but I've made sure to add it to my list after this visit! We thought it would be smaller and only gave ourselves a little time to be there but the collection was huge! The Picasso set in particular was such a delight, it's so exciting to have the opportunity to see work from someone like him right here in Orlando! We planned to spend a half hour, and 2 hours later we were forcing ourselves to leave because there was still more to look at! The art expert was a delight and answered all our questions and more, really adding to the experience for us. The art expert was also the one who put together the written pieces throughout the exhibit explaining different themes and techniques in the Picasso set and they were all excellent; she had already answered so many of our questions that had arisen naturally from our viewing in the pieces; that's great curating! They were also having a warehouse sale which we are already making plans to try and return for, as well as their next exhibition which is a large set of all original paintings from the last living pupil of Picasso, which will at first be interspersed with some of the current Picasso pieces on display. While we were there they were actually painting the interior wall with a pattern inspired by the work of the coming exhibition, which was really cool to see some behind-the-scenes creative curating at work! I'm definitely adding this great spot to my list of Orlando galleries and museums to frequent. It's places like this that help Orlando become an artistic and cultural center on the world map!
