I'm afraid I don't take classes here (well, not yet anyways), but I have been to a couple of the…read more"haflas" here, and I plan to keep coming! It's about this I'm writing this review. Every third Saturday of the month, Habeeba hosts a hafla (dance party). Doors typically open around 7:30, but the show doesn't start until at least 8:00, and often later. How late it runs depends on the number of dancers, but 10:30~11:00 is typical, and it could be later. Admission is $10 at the door with all ages welcome. Indeed, there are often a bunch of little kids running around (and sometimes on to the dance floor...). The atmosphere is fun, positive, and upbeat, and dancers of all levels are welcome. I myself only started dancing in June so I haven't performed yet, but I think I might soon. Anyways, the typical hafla consists of various local (and visiting) performers doing a routine either solo or in groups. Most of the dancers are from Habeeba's school, but anyone is welcome. You don't need to be a professional or even have a fancy costume - sometimes performers dance to random songs just to show off some special technique, and you see everything from elaborate galabeya to flared dance pants with a tied top and a flashy hip scarf. Many of the dancers do perform professionally at local restaurants and events, so the quality of the performance is always pretty high. You can also learn a lot from watching the performers... and interacting with them. Throughout the evening, the dancers will take a break and there will be "free dancing". Basically, anyone who wants can come out on the dance floor to practice their moves, get advice from fellow dancers, and use the wide floor and mirrors to do a little perfecting of their moves. There are also group dances. This might be an actual tribal dance, a circle dance, or even a line dance. Anyone can join in, whether they take lessons of any sort or not, and it's a lot of fun. There is also "free" food in the kitchen area, including a lot of different wines, sodas, and snack foods. Some times there are homemade cupcakes or treats too. Habeeba also holds workshops and special events, often right before or in tandem with the hafla; watch the website, I guess, for information. Overall, it's a great way to spend a Saturday night, and for $10, a very good value given the show and snacks.

Ratios must be maintained without moving children from one group to another and disrupting their continuity of care. Please send a statement to verify compliance in this area. In happy news, our 21 month old has stopped biting and is thriving at his new daycare (a different goddard).Thanks to his observant teachers, they were able to see a pattern and stopped it. A lovely, clean studio that's supporting the Eastern part of Columbus…read more They have quite a few (I wanna say 7?) chrome, 45mm poles with a silicone (!!!!) 45mm pole as well. It's small, but it's clean, with a full host of mirrors on one side of the studio to make it easier to see what you're doing. Every instructor I've had there has been really friendly and happy to work with all body types and individual needs. I believe they also have an instructor there who is fluent with ASL which is pretty cool. Everybody has been friendly and welcoming, and they have enough alcohol spray bottles and cloths for everyone to have their own at each pole. Large parking lot with lots of parking space you can use. Finding the front door is a bit complicated. Once you park, look for the entryway underneath the gigantic castle-like tower on top of the building. This door leads into a large, shared-use hallway which will lead to the Flourish entryway (which is at the end of the hallway).

I have four daughters who have studied dance most of their lives. One is getting ready to be a performing arts major at Heidelberg University. 1st Steps to Broadway's approach made all the difference. Most programs are "recital" based; that is, they work toward teaching dancers the steps for a routine and not much more. But Angie's program develops skills and technique and the whole dancer. I've worked in childcare before and finding a childcare facility for my son was a tough decision…read more Our first choice facility was full (infant rooms have long wait lists!) and we had a rough experience with another drop-in facility-- so I was anxious to try a new place but I'm so glad we lucked into a part-time opening at NWCC when my son was 6 months old. (He's now nearing a year old and is at NWCC full time). The staff at NWCC keep us updated and care about our son. They've been great at listening and communicating with us and I'd recommend them to anyone in need of a childcare facility. NWCC uses the Tadpoles app to record daily activities-- we receive daily email updates and have downloaded the connected app. The staff records daily activities (foods/liquids, diapers, naps, extra notes) and send photos via Tadpoles. I'll often get a photo of my happy son playing in the middle of the day-- an awesome surprise when I'm sitting at my desk and wondering how he's doing!
