Just called them and they seemed so slow - I am from LA and I notice the businesses here in Miami are not on point. He couldn't give any explanation on why he couldn't do something, just said "sorry can't do that, bye!" So unprofessional Update to what needed to be done - I found out that you just needed screws and a drill to attach it together and this company said "we can't do that" talk about lazy! Honest, straightforward service. I think that is pretty much all that matters, and that is what you'll get here. I called ahead to see when I could stop by, swung by with my cushions and material and was back about 5 days later picking up my newly reupholstered outdoor cushions. I never felt like Jay was dishonest, he even went through the whole process to explain how things were done. I had one of the loops on a cushion rip off, and when I went back to show him, he explained what had happened. And even though it was due to the material itself and not his job, he reinforced every cushion's loops for free. Talk about going the extra mile! I immediately knew I was in the presence of an extremely knowledgeable and talented craftsman, and also a delightful person. He first reupholstered and recovered an old rattan recliner that I love. I had a simple repair job for a seat cushion and it was done really well, very quickly and at a very reasonable price. I'm very happy!

I was looking to refurbish my couch cushions, because I love everything else about my couch and just wanted to redo the cushions so they were softer and more plush. I came across New FL Upholstery and took my idea to them for their professional assistance. Upon my arrival I met Jay and he couldn't have been more than helpful. Without an appointment Jay happily stopped the work he was doing to look at pictures of my couch and what I wanted my couch to look like when I was finished with the refurbishing. He took the time to look throw a variety of fabric swatches with me, as well as explain differences in foam an other padding options. Ultimately, to save me the maximum amount of money he recommended that I go straight to his supplier to get the foam that I needed and recommended that i purchases fabric elsewhere (also taking money out of his pocket) so I would get the very best price. At the end of the day Jay didn't make any money on this particular project, but he did such an outstanding job with customer service I'm actively try to find things to refurbish just to throw him some business because I have no doubt he will do the very best job while also keeping my costs as low as possible. I brought my three bar stools to be reupholstered. I was able to choose a replacement fabric onsite. They called the supplier and not only was the fabric available, but would be delivered to New Florida Upholstery the next day. The pricing for the labor was 1/3 of what Lejune Upholstery had quoted me. I took a leap of faith and left my 3 bar stools, gave a 50% deposit and paid in full for the fabric. In 2weeks time I received a text that my stools were ready. In fact for a small fee, they were delivered to me. They look fantastic and I'm very happy with the workmanship. Jay recovered an antique chair for me and did an excellent job. The chair had been at another upholstery shop, which never got the material I wanted so I went & picked it up only to discover they had broken the arm completely apart & then used a 75 cent L bracket to attempt to put it back together. It was a mess. I took the chair to New Florida Upholstery, Jay fixed the arm, and tightened the loose joints, you would never know the arm had been broken. I have so far not used this upholsterer. How could I when the owner hangs up a few second into the call? When I called he thought I might be a telemarketer when I said 'my name is Mark. Whom I am speaking with?' which is normal to do when the person answering a business line does not tell the caller their name, especially the owner. I don't know how a personal name on the caller ID can be mistaken for a sales call but that's the explanation I got from a woman who called me after she saw my Yelp review. Then, and I am not making this up, Jay, the actual owner of this company, called as I was doing this edit, not to apologize for hanging up on me, but to threaten and yell like a crazy person over the phone. This time I had to hang up the phone on him for all the angry things coming out of his mouth. like 'Hey, you are messing with the wrong guy! ...If you dont remove that Yelp review I will have my girls in the office dedicate all their time to write bad things about you!"
