Don't ask for any fancy cocktails, this isn't that kind of pub. The bar food is good, made by the same chefs that cover the Beefeater menu through in the restaurant part. Everything from Lasagne to paprika chicken salads, just not tuna. The best bit about the place, though, is the service. The staff are well trained and very attentive. They help you with you orders and even beyond the bar. They are very good interacting with children too. The management seem to be very hands-on. All the staff seem to be happy to serve you. That should've been the first sign of a bad experience. Once we were actually seated, it took just over an hour to get our food. I ordered the T-bone steak, my mum ordered a sirloin and my dad the mixed grill; a rump steak, gammon steak, lamb chop and chicken breast packed onto a plate. When the food actually arrived, I cut into my steak only to find a thoroughly cooked through steak, when I'd asked for medium rare. I sent it back and waited 20 minutes on another one, which is unacceptable because medium rare cooking does not take anywhere near that long. They did take money off the bill for all the drama, and the only reason they're not getting one star is because we actually had a really good waitress, and she cant be faulted for the issues that were going on in the kitchen. The pub serves a good range of pub grub and has some good offers like 2 for 1 on steaks, so it is easy to eat very reasonably indeed here. On Saturday nights there is karaoke - I'm not a big fan but my sister is and she likes to drag me along there so she can belt out a few numbers. To be fair it is a good laugh as nobody takes it seriouslybut I'm still quite reluctant to get up and inflict my voice on everyone.
