Had a great experience there recently. I went twice in person - the first time last week to see if…read moresomeone would review my application for completeness. Turns out, for an APRN application, you need the letter mailed from your certifying body that has the expiration date on it. For example, if you took an ANCC exam, you would need to present a copy of the certificate the ANCC mailed to you (included in the package they send with the pin in it). A copy of the email stating you passed, or even a digital copy of verification sent directly to the board from the ANCC will not do, per the young lady that reviewed my application. After finding this out, I returned this week. I went in the middle of the day on a Monday and there were 25 people in line ahead of me. I arrived at 1:45 and finished up around 3:20 pm. They had people lined up outside of the door, and, as folks cleared out of the lobby they would let those standing in line inside. I expected this based on other reviews and past experiences, but I think it was worth the peace of mind knowing I had physically handed someone my application, had it reviewed in front of me and got a receipt. They do have a place to drop envelopes in the open lobby. I don't think I would feel safe leaving papers with sensitive information there for anyone in the lobby to access, although I did observe security staff regularly collecting the envalopes and taking them back. I took a star off because I am not sure about ADA compliance - If you are planning on coming in to talk with someone, I would be prepared to be waiting outside in bad weather without a place to sit for a while, especially if you are heading there later in the day. They also do not have a bathroom on the premises. When I asked, the security staff said they used to have one but people would trash it, so they closed it off. I guess I can understand that. I ended up running to the $5 Below around the corner to use their bathroom so I wouldn't lose my place in line. Although it was a long wait, every one of the staff was courteous, even to the people giving them a hard time. It can't be easy dealing with angry, frustrated people all day but everyone I saw handled it well. Another thing I wanted to say was there is a list of schools the board will not accept posted in the lobby. I was proud to see three schools on there that have recently been investigated nationally for selling fraudulent degrees - I had seen this same list on the board's website for many years. I am proud of my state BON for looking out for the safety of Marylanders by not allowing people who bought fake diplomas to practice in the state. I know it takes a while, but I appreciate them doing the due diligence to make sure Maryland caregivers are safe caregivers. That said, the gentleman at the desk stated that it would take six - eight weeks for my license to be updated. Fingers crossed!

terrible management, insanely unprofessional. they will not answer your phone calls at any time,…read moreyou will be left on hold for hours because their employees don't care about their job. they will not answer your emails ever, doesn't matter how many times you try to send one. contacting them virtually is basically impossible, if you actually need to talk to them you HAVE to come in person.
