There is a mixed martial arts business and fitness gym located directly next to the facility. The parking lot has painted lines but also is made of gravel and has several holes. Basically, you wouldn't expect the Concentra to be located there, but it is. I imagine that another franchise or business used to occupy the space before they assumed this location. When you walk in, you feel a bit confused as a customer if you've never been to an urgent care-style business because there is little direction and the customer service leaves a bit to be desired. Since I have been to standard medical offices, I surmised from past experiences in those settings, that I was supposed to sign in, fill out some paperwork, and then wait to be called. The waiting room is old and not obviously unclean, but definitely not super sterile and hygienic, how you might expect a medical facility to look and feel. I waited about ten minutes to be called, and then another ten minutes to be taken back for the drug screening. The staff are thorough and efficient, and I was able to leave the facility within thirty minutes of arriving. Overall, I would much rather go to a nicer facility to have these sorts of tests completed, but if I'm short on time and have no other option, then I guess this place isn't the absolute worse case scenario.

The team is efficient and responsive. They provide good quality care and even when they are busy you get seen very quickly. There is a Harris teeter pharmacy and a target nearby which is convenient if you need supplies/medications. Several insurances are accepted, including medicaid. Surgical abortions can not be preformed same day as initial appointment. Wait times can be as short as an hour (initial consults or follow ups) or as long as eight (for surgical procedures). Medication is only an option in the first 9 weeks. Many times a pregnancy can not be verified until after 5 weeks. If the medication fails a surgical procedure may be necessary. The surgical procedure can be done up to 22 weeks. Under 15 weeks can be performed in 1 day, over 15 weeks will need to be completed over 2 days. Gynemed does offer sedation but can not accommodate those with tolerance (i.e. history of drug abuse) to benzodiazepines or opiates as the sedation medication will not work. Gynemed does not perform 'partial birth abortions' (and neither does any other facility in Maryland- this is a terrible lie told by anti-abortion protesters). Regardless of your procedure choice, prepare to present for an initial consultation, your 'procedure' day(s), and follow up appointment (included in the cost). When we said no,she didn't look at his injury and just had us take seat. The waiting room was pretty full and when I asked the front desk person wouldn't give a wait time. We were seen on the as expected time frame, given the number of patients. The PA and Nurse were great, they answered all questions, addressed the head wound appropriately based on my knowledge. No issues, no complaints with the treatment or medical professional performance once in the exam room. A couple of suggestions about reception: When someone asks a wait time, it's okay to say we can't guarantee a time that is understandable and common sense. However, it's not too much to ask to give a general estimate to manage expectations. Also, it might be a good idea to just give the general appearance like you have observed the person's issue/condition before you just tell someone to have a seat when they have a bleeding head wound. They might be a little more calm if you at least pretend like you have assessed them before you tell them to get in line. I gave 4 stars because the performance was good except for a minor issue with the reception personnel approach and presentation. Overall I would recommend them to others and visit again.

Crazy thing is the waiting room was completely empty when I arrived. I'm assuming that patients must have been in all the rooms. This is just crazy. I'll finish this review after the doctor comes in. Well doctor finally came in at 1235pm and wants to get an X-ray. So let's see how long it will be before that is taken. A few days later my symptoms got worse, and when I went to Patient First, I was diagnosed with pneumonia. This experience was disappointing, and I did not feel taken seriously.
