I called ahead and gave her a heads up I would be 5 minutes late, she was rude on the phone but then said to still come. I showed up at 4:45pm as promised and the door was locked and the business closed. I don't understand how you can run a business but not make time for people that run a few minutes behind. Absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the business listing on google and Yelp says open til 7pm.

I found We're Makin' Waves, which had great reviews, and decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did! Sabrina took time to talk about how I liked to wear my hair and how much time I wanted to take styling it. When I got home from the salon, husband said, "Wow-Now that's a great haircut".

I called twenty-four hours in advance to explain my unexpected need to reschedule and still they refused to extend me any grace at all, instead charging me 50%, almost $200, for the appointment. I think extending one grace cancel to loyal/repeat customers is more than appropriate. It's also just a dumb business practice - I now won't be back, meaning they are now forfeiting thousands of dollars in business from me. Seems silly.

I'm also excited about the skin salon that they just opened around the corner. Have had 2 facials there with Stephanie and what a great job she did both times. The experience itself is very relaxing and my skin looks and feels wonderful! Highly recommend!

The upside is that the shop has gel color that matches regular nail polish colors so one's manicure and pedicure can match. That's a major plus. The shop also does brows. That's great for this area. Janet has a nice looking shop but two ill behaved dogs that tear up magazines, jump on customers with wet nails, and escape from the shop to have other people have to come out and chase them down. On my last visit I actually had to help wrangle a dog in the street with wet toes while the owner did nothing. I got my gel mani redone today again and again she filed down my nails again, ruining their length when I ask her not too. The gel is messily done and looks like plain nail polish. She was hasty, not paying attention and my nails look like I did them at home. I am so disappointed with the job she did. I wanted to support a local business but from now on will go back to either Nefertiti Nails or NGL. The Upper Valley doesn't have many options but this just isn't a good choice.
