Splendid Chaos Full Service Salon

Splendid Chaos Full Service Salon

Please be aware of the details before scheduling with Splendid Chaos. We scheduled manicures and…read morepedicures to be done side by side at the same time. The owner, to our surprise, said she would be doing both of us... and proceeded to go back and forth quickly, subsequently doing a sloppy job. She was clearly trying to get us out of there quickly. She then had the audacity to turn the credit card charge point around to me and suggest I leave a larger tip (for her). We are thankful there are other reputable and less greedy salon establishments in the Upper Valley.

I was visiting Vermont from the south. I needed manicure and pedicure badly. My husband called…read morearound and found this place in Woodstock where we were planning on visiting there. He Booked a mani and pedi. Price $90 . That's twice what I pay back home. I figured for $90 I expected an incredible experience. I dealt with Lisa. She Never soak my nails in water. Would not trim my cuticles as I requested. Lisa said she does not recommend it. I pick a light pale color and after two coats, I wanted a third coat of polish. She said, I did not need a third coat. If a customer requested a third coat for what I was paying I should have gotten 6 coats with no questions!!! At this point. I was furious !! I tried not to show it. When it was time for a pedicure I refused it. She tried to convince me. After my husband got a Mani and pedicure, He was not happy with it either. Remember she says she does not recommend cutting cuticles, but I saw her trim feet cuticles. Well, I was raised to be nice and respectful and I was. I will never go there again. I highly don't recommend this nail salon.

Absolutely the Worst Salon Experience of My Life. I had an unbelievably terrible experience at this…read moresalon with Rylee and Tiffany. First, Rylee used extremely hot water to wash my hair--so hot that I literally screamed out in pain. Even then, she didn't stop until I clearly said "stop." During the wash, all the water ran down my forehead, my face, and onto my chest, soaking my clothes. Again, I had to yell for them to stop, but Rylee still didn't react until I said "stop" explicitly. Without one "sorry". The most unbearable part was the hair wash itself. Rylee had extremely long nails and was scratching my scalp with them, causing real pain. Rylee didn't use their fingertips at all--just long nails digging into my scalp. I've never seen any hairdresser with such long nails, let alone use them in such an unprofessional and painful way. Still, no "sorry"at all. Then came the haircut, which was equally awful. Rylee clearly did not know how to use scissors properly--completely unskilled. I honestly could have done a better job cutting my own hair at home. When I asked to switch to another stylist, I was told: "No one else is available." I then asked for my hair to be blow-dried, and they told me it would cost $44. When I asked for just a towel so I could dry my soaked clothes and hair myself, they told me there were no towels and that they couldn't give me one. I was told to leave immediately. A woman named Tiffany, who claimed to be the manager, even threatened to call the police if we didn't leave right away. She totally knew what Rylee did to me but she didn't say a "sorry". This was not just poor service--this felt like being treated like a criminal for simply expecting basic decency. This salon was unprofessional, unhygienic, rude, and completely disrespectful. Avoid this place at all costs. It was the worst service experience I've had in my entire life.

I went to Christian Roy's to get a balayage and I regret it. I worked with Haley, who is a lovely…read moreperson and gave a great haircut, but the color appointment I had with her was expensive and turned out nothing like the way I had asked for. Prior to the start of our appointment, I shared some reference photos with Haley about how I'd like the balayage to look. We agreed that the blue would be darker and not the vibrant electric blue when it would be colored, but I still wanted the complete bottom part of my hair to be bleached and dyed (with my natural black hair fading into the blue as shown in the photos). When I left the salon, this is not the result I had as it looks more like highlights and it still looks mostly black at the bottom. Immediately after the appointment, I wrote to the salon about getting this fixed either through a refund or another appointment to fix it, free of charge, I was given the run around for a month. They eventually told me I would have to pay for another appointment and that I was not eligible for a refund, as Haley had apparently communicated that it would take several appointments to achieve what I wanted (not true -- if so, I wouldn't be here writing this review and would've had the right expectations). If Haley had communicated that or at least showed me pictures of what she was going to do instead, I may not have done the appointment at all. This cost me $350, not including tip. I'm ashamed I spent this much for what I got, so I just wanted to offer a word of caution to others (especially if you have dark, long hair like me) about what could happen. I went somewhere else and they were able to do what I wanted, and I wish I had gone there in the first place.
