Last year 2022 I had an issue needing a repair, never saw Joe, he sent two workers that spent no more than 15 minutes, couldn't explain why the issue occurred and left supposedly having fixed it. April this year 2023, the exact issue occurred. I contacted Joe and told, he'd get back to me. He didn't so a few calls later he did and told me he'd stop by when "in the area". It's now 2 months later and no sign of him. His office person told me on 6/14 he was coming that day. No show. I've left messages twice since with no call back. So If no issues post install, great but expect nothing but lies, no communication .. if anything needs to be done after the install. Go elsewhere!

The team, led by John, did the job with great efficiency and expertise, finishing in just two days. Everything was thoroughly cleaned up and the finished work looks great. John (and his son) and the crew of prostone are great. The quote was very fair, and John was on the job site every day. When I met him and got the quote I thought-this had to be a scam-no one can be that nice and fair and still be in business. But they are the real deal. We had several quotes and prostone was the cheapest by thousands and still did everything by the book (got a permit, did some extra stuff because the inspector came by etc...). Highly recommended.

BEWARE! Madrona will not live up to expectations and if you hire them, you'll be left with…read moreheadaches! I hired Madrona in spring of 2021 to install a new paver patio around my pool. While the patio project came out decent (and it should when you spend the cost of a brand new car), they destroyed my yard in the process. Having really nice, manicured grass and landscaping before the project started, I knew my yard would get disturbed by installing the new pool deck, so I made sure to build into the contract scope that allowed Madrona to repair all of the grass to its prior state when the project was done - something the owner, Vicente, agreed to. A year later, Vicente refuses to honor the agreement in the contract and repair my terribly damaged yard that I've had to spend thousands of dollars in materials and my time trying to fix to date. When the project was wrapping up, several days after promised, the Madrona crew was rushing to get to their next job. What resulted was quickly throwing down some unscreened loam, cheap grass seed and no fertilizer. The soil was lumpy and filled with huge rocks which meant the grass didn't grow properly. It wasn't long before I realized just how dangerous the unscreened loam they used was - it was filled with glass, plastic, and other trash - a major safety concern in a yard where young children are barefoot and pets play. Throughout the project, I found Madrona's communication to be lacking. I was often left in the dark with regards to important details, or given updates with no advanced notice. The excavation crew was careless, causing a sizable rip in my pool liner when excavating the old concrete patio - something I had to pay out of pocket to repair with the pool company. Maybe the most alarming issue with the whole project is that the owner didn't take measurements before ordering pavers, and shockingly, they ran out of pavers before they completed the deck. Sort of reckless to not spend 10 minutes up front to take measurements. There are plenty of reputable hardscape companies out there. Do yourself favor and think long & hard before hiring Madrona Bros for your project.

They can turn your roof deck into a garden, or your urban yard into a garden room. Botanica bostonia is the rare confluence of a garden designer and a horticulturist who knows what will grow in your soil, your light conditions, and what it will look like in a year and 5 years from now. This South End based business first helped me with winter planting for my condo association's street side containers, and then next my own garden. Not offended by small jobs, they can also handle building a pergola, and complete redesign and planting of a yard. They've built flagstone walks and granite topped brick planters. Owner-designer Dan LaBarre knows his plants, and delivers gardens that look great the day he finishes up, and even better months later.

I've used Lawn Care Plus every couple of years for almost 10 years when there's a larger project to do than I can tackle myself. They've brought in yards of loam and leveled / reseeded parts of our yard, always with great results. They've aerated our yard every 1-2 years, despite it being a small standalone job some years. They've removed a diseased tree. They helped remove an old paver patio, neatly stacked the old pavers, and prepared the soil for new grass. Always with great responsiveness, professionalism, and value for the price. As I told Tim this week, they've got a very satisfied customer!

At his request I sent him a text with the address and a confirmation of the meeting. He replied and confirm that he got the information. On the day of the meeting I called about an hour before to confirm that he was coming but there was no answer on the phone. I also texted him but also no response. The appointment was for 1 p.m. ,and at 1 p.m. no one showed up. I kept calling for the next half hour to see if he was on his way but no one answered the phone. I have not received a call back from him so I imagine that he just stood me up because he got busy. That's not a very good way to do business.

Oh and the dead tree was 3 stories high, they removed that too. And cleaned! Absolutely Amazing The pictures do not do it justice at all he's so professional I'm so used to contractor ripping me off taking longer than they said they would and everything else and this was such a great experience! Unusual these days! So delighted! I recommend him and his company.
