Anyway, the first person I called on Wednesday and made an appointment with no showed on Friday night (11/20/2015) I called A to Z in Meriden at 7PM that night (after the no show) when I got home and left them a message. Not expecting a call back, I missed their call at 8:30PM. They said to call at 8AM. I called at 7:55AM and they answered. They could squeeze me in for 11:30AM and I took the appointment. 11:35AM came, they called to say they were running behind and asked if could I wait or could they reschedule. I thanked them for letting me know and I said I could wait. They were there ten minutes later and gone 30 minutes after that with the door fixed (both springs changed out) for $135.00 parts, tax, and labor included. True mom and pop - mom and pop were there doing the work. It was awesome to watch. I swear - my kids and the dog were there; it WAS like having your mom and pop helping you. If I could give them ten stars I would. If I had another account on here I would write another five star review. I had zero clue what the cost would be but I was told that if I wanted to get the springs and cables to do it myself that the parts (garage door kits) were about $70 so I assumed $200 for the job and I was very happy when it was just $135. As the garage is also a primary way we access going in and out of the house I wanted to get it repaired as soon as possible. I called "Doors and More" and although Greg had a number of calls scheduled for the day, he fit me in and got us up and running again immediately (same day). I was super impressed with his work. He was knowledge, professional and courteous. He carefully sized the replacement springs to match our requirements and ensured everything was done properly. He did not just assume the broken spring that was removed was correctly sized. When I asked him about that he explained that it was not an original spring and so he always sizes what he installs himself so that he knows what is installed meets requirements. This involved weighing the door and interfacing with a sizing app to precisely match the replacement spring to what was needed. I can't say enough about how positive this experience was. If you are looking for someone to do garage door maintenance, I would highly recommend Greg.

Hit up the search engine to see what I could find and DaM came up as nearby with Sunday hours. Called, left a message and had a return call within 2-3 min. Gave Greg the rundown and he said he could be at my place with 45 min... and he was. Pleased and impressed. After they fixed that door (and got it running better and smoother than before) they made sure the other garage door was running properly too. Springs installed safely, chain lubricated, opening and shutting smoothly and quietly. All for a very reasonable price. The springs they put on go for about $50 at Home Depot. Two guys there under one hour. They quoted me at $275 and somehow that bill rose to 325 by the end of the job. I just wanted the job done quick and it didn't invest a lot of time and effort but 325 to install two $50 springs under an hour labor seems very expensive. And also they did not give me any paperwork except the bill by email I'll eat this bill but I learned a lesson.
