We were told several times when the manager could not make a meeting or was rushing there to meet for 10min, they were just "so busy with their other projects." Even the owner came at the end to look at a few things and didn't say one word besides hello. Honestly, we are still waiting on them to find a solution to paint on the custom oven hood and I doubt we will ever hear from them. Guess they are just writing off the small payment that's left. We have friends all over Southside and it's a shame that we cannot recommend this company because people ask all the time.

On March 2nd, we were told via email that our preferred lot had a discounted price, which motivated us to act quickly and schedule a contract appointment for March 7th. On the day of that appointment, we were informed (as we were leaving our house) that it had been canceled due to a $30K price increase, and they would not honor the pricing we had been discussing. After a week of poor communication and multiple follow-ups, they came back with a revised offer, which we were willing to accept--only to change the terms again the very next day and remove the discount entirely. At that point, we walked away. While we understand pricing can change, the constant back-and-forth, lack of communication, and failure to honor their word made it impossible to trust them. If you're considering building with them, be cautious--get everything in writing and don't assume pricing or terms will hold. We've decided to wait for the new section of Rountrey to be released and will be moving forward with a builder that is more professional, trustworthy, and client-focused. Very disappointing experience.

From gaps between the boards in the screened in porch, cuts in the kitchen floor, and a leaking and crooked skylight to major cracks in the sheet rock within two years from the day it was built, this house was a total disaster. Worse yet is the fact that Lloyd Poe and his company refused to fix most of the problems. I would discourage everyone from doing business with this horrible and unethical company.

We contacted Built to Last and they were able to come out same day for the job. Although a small repair job, we could not be happier with the work done.
