Absolutely the Worst Landscaping Experience I've Ever Had…read more If I could give this company zero stars, I absolutely would. From start to finish, this was a complete disaster. They showed up late, when they decided to show up, and seemed more interested in their phones than in doing any actual work. What little work they did manage to complete was sloppy, rushed, and nothing close to what was agreed upon. The yard looked worse when they left than when they arrived. Uneven edging, random patches of dead grass, and plants that looked like they were dug out of someone else's trash pile. When I brought my concerns to the owner, he was dismissive, rude, and acted like I was the problem for expecting professionalism. Communication was a nightmare, deadlines were ignored, and the "finished" product was embarrassing. I ended up hiring another company to redo almost everything they touched, at double the cost. Save yourself the frustration, time, and money. Do NOT hire this company under any circumstances. You'll regret it the moment they step onto your property.

As President of the Village at Gum Springs HOA I led the decision to switch to Blade Runners in 2018 and would do it again without question. At the beginning of any new relationship there will be misunderstandings and adjustments that need to be worked out. When we were unsure of something or had a concern our account manager, Karen, was prompt, professional and patient. Communicating with Karen was very easy and helped us to determine the types of services that would best serve our community. On more than one occasion she would come to the community and walk the grounds with the HOA Board. She would identify plant types that could prevent erosion/flooding, point out trees that were healthy or in need of assistance and offer suggestions on how to improve the overall aesthetics of our community. I could tell she genuinely cared about our community and the service her company provided. At the conclusion of our walkthroughs we received a breakdowns with several options of services and improvements that we could use to improve the worn down and drab areas in our community. The following year we decided to move forward and expand our services with Blade Runners and the result was more than we could have imagined. During the spring of 2019 our community won the "Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation" award for residential beauty! This was the first time our community received an award for anything and we owe it to the hard work from the Blade Runners team. We look forward to working with Blade Runners in the future and hopefully to win another award or two! ~Arlan A., President VGS HOA

My Mister and I broke out our trusty chainsaw and went to work. I could not believe how much wood and brush we stacked! Alas, we don't have a truck. So, it would have to sit there until we could think of something. The next day a business card was on our screen door. DEE's Tree Removal Service...blah, blah, blah,...free estimates! So, I called and Duane said he would be over in 3 hours. 2 1/2 hours later he called back to say he was running about a 1/2 hour late leaving DC. No problem! I really appreciated that head's up. He arrived and gave me a fabulous estimate to haul my crap away. He then said, "You really need to have that tree taken down." Yea, I know. I just couldn't afford the $3,500 that I was previously quoted. "$3,500! I can do it for waaay less." However, I was between gigs at the time, so I just had him haul away the stack. Cut to two months later: The aftermath of another storm. My Mister broke out the chainsaw and again went to cutting fallen limbs and gathering brush. The decision was made with a heavy heart to have our beloved 100 year old Catalpa cut down. I didn't need to Yelp it, I still had DEE's card. Duane came out to see it all and could do the job on Saturday. We wouldn't be home, but all arrangements were handled. So sad to see our majestic tree gone, but it really is a weight lifted off our shoulders. I highly recommend DEE's Tree Removal Service. Duane is an honest, hard working guy who won't let you down. Great prices for his services, and superior customer service! I am sure it doesn't hurt that his business manager is his wife! If Yelp would let me wink here, I would!

We hired Duane (aka Dee's Tree Removal & Landscaping Services) yesterday to remove six trees from our yard. Today, all six are gone. The guys cleaned up all of the debris, stacked remnant pieces of wood where we asked, cut some pieces of wood into end tables for us, and offered additional suggestions to help with our yard going forward. Duane's pricing was excellent for the work that was done - we couldn't be happier. We have a few projects in mind for our home, and we will most definitely be calling on Duane in the future.
