Upon arrival the whole place smelled like food (delicious, but not at all what I am hoping for when I come for a relaxing massage). The room partitions to separate each massage space do not go to the ceiling and only have curtains for doors, so I could hear other customers coming and going the whole time. This was especially disruptive when the person next to me decided to take a phone call during their massage. When my massage was finished the woman at the front desk was very pleasant but informed me that there is a special $7 fee to pay with debit (annoying but not unheard of) but then what made me decide not to come back was that the owner's policy is that your first massage does not count toward the 10 hours to earn a complementary massage. So while I expected to leave with only 8 hours until a free massage- I was told the frequent customer card would not start getting stamped until my second visit (per the owner's policy). I was also not impressed with the other amenities or lack there of- the rooms were very sparse with lots of dry wall anchors sticking out making things look unfinished. The round pillow to lay face down on was only covered with a paper towel- this did not feel clean. When I was asked to turn to my back an uncovered pillow was placed under my head- no pillowcase or towel to change out between customers. Despite the good massage and attentiveness of the masseuse I will not be back and would not recommend this business to friends or family when they're are plenty of alternatives.

Heavens Day Spa is in a small shopping strip and apparently there is a parking lot behind. I parked on the street. The salon is pretty small and definitely not elegant. But I never judge that at first, because many small places provide great service for a fraction of the price compared to big, elegant salons. The room I was in, did not have a door, but a curtain. A woman escorted me into the room and told me to undress. I assumed she was the masseuse. I was wrong. Shortly after, a man walked in, no introduction, and started the massage. He seemed somewhat distracted, leaving the room multiple times. Also, the other woman entered the room multiple times to speak to the man. The music stopped and was not out back on for about half an hour. I had a hard time relaxing, based on the lack of music, street noise, man leaving the room, woman entering the room, and other guests coming in loudly. I am not sure if I will try them again, but if so, I will go during a weekday, when maybe it's quieter and staff is more attentive. The massage itself was decent, but relaxation is supposed to be part of the experience.

China Meridian is your typical Main Street store front spa. I arrived mid day so you wouldn't think it would be too busy, but they were very busy. In the hour that I was there, there were 3 walk-ins, one with an appointment and a few phone calls. However, despite this activity, my masseuse, Linda, only left the room once. Room was big and a little chilly. I thought they keep the heat down to keep costs down or maybe they are trying to go green and conserve on fossil fuel consumption. But, they reason they keep the heat down is because when they are giving a massage, they work up a sweat and if it's cooler, they don't get so hot and tired. If they are comfortable and happy, as long as I get a good massage, I'm OK. After seeing Linda, first glance, first impression, I almost requested to see who else was available. Linda is tall and slender and a lot younger than most masseuses. I figured that bending over a table giving a massage for an hour would be to strenuous. But, never underestimate their ability to give a good massage. I'm glad I stayed with Linda, she gave a very nice massage. Too bad China Meridian doesn't have those bars for walking on back. I think she wound have done well.
