AKA Conshohocken Massage now, this is my favorite massage spot around. Private rooms, very friendly staff and very accommodating for my last minute scheduling requests. Every masseuse there is great. Tell them what's been bothering you and they will customize the massage to focus on your problem areas. They also use hot stones on every massage and sometimes do back walking, cupping and other therapies to help with various ailments. I have been here 3 times this year. It keeps getting worst every time I go back. Today was the last time I will ever go back. There is no more walk ins ( good for them more business). There a big sign that says " NO LESS THAN 20% TIP"!! You can't tell people how to tip. It's a "gratuity" meaning if I the customer enjoyed my service from the person providing it I have the "option" to tip more or as my budget will allow. IT'S RUDE TO DEMAND MONEY AFTER I PAID FOR THE INCOMPLETE MASSAGE. Why do I say it was incomplete? Well I have had over 100 massages. A complete massage includes the back and front of your body massaged in oil or lotion. Unless it is a type of massage service that requires you to keep your clothes on, like Thai Massage. Today I had my massage, I was laying face down, the massage on my back was amazing. I did not ask for hot stones and it was performed. I don't like hot stones, and these were hott. My back still feels like its burning. I will have to check to see if my skin stays on. The back of my legs got a light massage with oil. I turned over to my back and the therapist did my neck for about 2 mins, a light facial massage and a head massage. Then she did my feet about 5 mins. Next I heard " Finish".....I said what? she said " you finish" Notice I did not mention she massaged my arms or my legs on the front. I got out side and the guy at the desk asked me how was the massage. I explained what happened, he asked her in Chinese and she responded in Chinese. Then he told me she said she did full body massage. I told the guy, she can speak English just fine I don't need a translator. Its not fair that you two wants to discuss what happened in your language. She then proceed to tell me what happened and that she massaged my whole body. I showed her my dry arms no lotion or oil. When I started to walk away after I paid my $55, the front desk guy said in a loud voice " excuse me you not tip her" I said in a louder voice ' NO! LOOK AT MY ARMS AND LEGS! NO OIL, THE JOB WAS NOT FINISHED, DO I LOOK HAPPY? A HAPPY CUSTOMER GIVES A TIP, I AM NOT HAPPY"!!!!!! HE YELLED AT ME IN CHINESE WHILE I WAS WALKING OUT OF THE BUILDING.....no clue what he said tho. My last thoughts get what you pay for, half the price, half the massage, half the service. Totally a recession massage. By the way I did not see any license either. Never going back to this place has very poor customer service. read more

Sadly, I have to downgrade my previous review by a couple of stars based on recent experiences. Three things have changed since I first started going to Celebrity: 1. They don't take credit cards anymore, so you have to bring cash. 2. They force a mandatory 20% tip. I tip really well, at least 20%, but making it mandatory just annoys me. 3. They are no longer a walk-in business, you have to make an appointment. So if I need to make an appointment days in advance, and can't use a credit card, I'll choose another massage place that has a bit more atmosphere. For a few bucks more I can get a much better experience at several other places nearby. Sadly, Celebrity is not worth it anymore. read more

I went to Celebrity Massage for a last minute massage. The massage itself was average, I figured I was getting what I paid for ($55 for an hour). I was very disappointed when I went to pay and they DEMANDED a $15 minimum tip. When I asked why the tip was so high (30%), their reply was "to keep our prices low". In my mind, I am now paying $70 for a low end massage by an untrained person. I can get a real massage for that much money at a nice, private salon with trained professionals. Do not go here if you are expecting to save money! They do not tell you the tip minimum until after the massage. It's a scam to get you in the door. I had heard about this place from a few people. $55 for an hour isn't bad at all, but you get what you pay for. I got to hear some other dude grunting in the room next to me, because they are only separated by curtains. They had about 12 open "tents" and they put me in the one next to another person, I dont understand that. The girl who gave me the massage did a nice job, but her touch wasn't as strong as I would have liked. Ended up paying $65 including tip, and walking out feeling pretty good. read more

This is my favorite place to get a massage. I know it seems kinda sketchy being in a strip mall, but don't hesitate. Go! I've been to much nicer and more expensive places and none have compared to the massages I've gotten at celebrity. Those girls really know how to find and kneed out every knot. Very disappointed. The massage was just long oil rubbing, especially feet. If you like the deep massage with pressure, this is not it. I will not return. They do have mandatory 20% TIP, which made it very uncomfortable when I took $10 out to tip them. They said 20% so I had to give $15. So if you like the gentle touch, you could go! read more

As mentioned in the Philadelphia magazine this is definitely not a fancy place. In fact at first appearance you may have doubts, I did. However once youve been taken back to a curtained and tranquil "room" ( private stall/Station) the value begins to show. Service is prompt, professional and to the point. The massage was perhaps the best I've had and I used to go 2x per month at a massage envy. It's superior because they know what they are doing, seemingly from many many years of experience rathr than learned from a text book. My masseuse was a younger Asian guy that was very quiet but effective and authentic. He knew where my tight spots/ aches were without me ever saying a word, because he knows what sore, stiff muscles feel like. Pressure was perfect the hot stones and hot towels were included in the standard 1 hr for $55. All around an excellent experience. I tipped $15 on top bc I felt he deserved it. They definitely did not pressure me into tipping or anything like that (as mentioned in another yelp review), just courteous and professional. And quality massage work! read more

Completely Relaxing! I walked in to Celebrity Massage with a friend of mine, after work on a Friday. We had no appointment, but were both able to get hour long massages in about 20 minutes. And we both walked out completely relaxed! The staff was courteous & efficient. The ambiance was much better than I anticipated after reading some Yelp reviews, and the simple fact that it's located in a strip mall. No worries, people . . .just go ahead in, it's great! It was clean, and there was a nice aroma, relaxing music and zen decorations adorning the walls and rest-room. The massage rooms were what you'd expect from this type of place. It was dimly lit with multiple curtained off rooms separating the area. The "rooms" were larger than others I've been in, and I felt completely comfortable since the masseuse was informative about what to take off, where to put your stuff and how to lay down on the table. The set up was comfortable and my masseuse, Helen, was amazing! This was hands-down the best massage I've ever had - and I've been to a ton of places, including fancy expensive spas. The atmosphere was relaxing with the music, scent and lighting. I didn't have any issues with other customers being loud, and Helen only left two-three times for a very short period of time to get things like hot rocks and warm towels. The hot rocks and warm towels were very relaxing and one of the reasons I'll be back. Helen was a wonder with the hot rocks and eased the tension from my shoulders and neck expertly. She sensed the trouble areas in my back and spent a lot of time working on them, while still giving me an overall relaxing, tension-relieving massage. After consulting with my friend afterward, I found out that her masseuse also found her problem areas, which were different than mine. Helen worked on my SI joints, while my friend's masseuse worked a lot on her hip and knee. So they were obviously well-trained and able to find the spots that needed the most attention. I felt like jelly after the massage and for hours afterward. I wish I had the money to get one every week, and although I don't, I know I'll be back a lot more often now that I know how amazing Helen is and what a great deal this is for the money. As long as you don't walk in here expecting a fancy spa with a locker room, shower, hair-dryer, champagne or herbal tea etc . . .you'll be pleasantly surprised and get an inexpensive, relaxing massage in a decent atmosphere. So save some money and enjoy it! It's definitely worth a shot! PS: They did not demand or even look expectantly at me for a tip. I've had many massages here and have never been disappointed. The only problem I've had recently was the expectation of a 20% tip (thus the 4 Stars). I've spoken with the owners (who claimed not to be the owners) about their paying their therapist a fare wage or to raise the price by 20%. Also discussed the unfairness of expecting customers to pick up their slack ~ but they didn't seem to care about this at all. As far as I am concerned tipping is still optional and I plan to continue tippping accordingly. read more

This has to be the best chair massage I have ever had. Called to make an appointment for 30 minutes ($1 a minute) and basically melted in the woman's hands that was giving me the message. I was impressed! I greatly enjoy massages and try to get one once a week. With that being said, it is very important for me to find a price conscious place that does a good job. Living in San Diego places like Celebrity Massage are everywhere, but this is the first one I've found on the East coast. They do a great job, at an affordable price! I travel often for work so I never know when I will have time to get a massage, but Celebrity has walk in appointments and also offer chair massages so if you only have 10 or 15 minutes they can accommodate you. I just left Celebrity in Conshohcken and had a fantastic massage done by Ting. Everyone was super nice, no one demanded a tip and I felt great when I left. Cosmetically, you are not going to think you are at the Golden Door but it is clean and most of all really good for the money. I always come here to get my massages beacuse it's decently priced and the girls do an EXCELLENT job. I always leave feeling relaxed. It's not the most beautiful massage parlor in the world, but you get what you pay for. The lights are dim and the music is very relaxing. I always have a calm experience. Booked a one hour couples massage. This place is located in the basement of a strip mall with no visable licenses. It was clean and the staff friendly and I had an open mind. First, it was not a couples massage but a massage next to his curtained table next to mine. I love Chinese massages and have had many massages in many different areas of the country. The young woman who massaged me didn't ask for a pressure comfort level before the massage and massaged me in the wrong areas very forcefully. I physically moved to indicate displeasure after 20 + painful strokes to the same wrong areas. Then verbally asked for less pressure thinking that would fix her lack of knowledge or technique. I never thought about ending a massage mid hour before and regret that I didn't today. My back is throbbing as if I was beat up. It was a "full body" massage but, barely any arms or legs no feet just painful strokes over the same few areas of back. This woman was not trained and continued to only massage in painful forceful mode. I actually needed to stretch after standing up because my back felt strained from the horrible experience. I would not go back here if the massages were free. read more

I paid in cash this time and no one said anything to me about my tip though they were clearly expecting me to give something by standing there until I finished paying. Being a recent transplant from Upstate NY, I agonized over a great, safe, and reputable place to get a good deep tissue massage. Back in NY I went frquently and had a great massage therapist who would bring me to tears working out the knots in my neck and shoulders. So, after much research and realizing that this place actually had better reviews than most of the expensive salons, and thanks to those same reviews, I knew what to expect. For, I get a massage b/c of the pain I suffer daily, so the technique of the massage therapist is far more important to me than my surroundings. I was not looking for a fluff and buff with wine in my hand, just a massage and I had no interest in paying for all those extras either. Let's be honest,you lay under a towel looking at the ground for the majority of the time anyway and if the massage is great, then you are paying for a whole lot of nothing! Upon entering their space, it is actually quite lovely, exactly what I was used to. Nice soothing colors on the wall, relaxing music. The gentleman behind the desk was very pleasant and soft spoken. It was like walking down into a whole new world from the street. Next the massage therapist came out and she was very very pleasant and sweet. They had me fill out paperwork, which eased my mind some, but always nervous going to a new place. Next she walked me back, and yes it is a basement with drapes or curtains separating each area. But when I was there, they spaced people out nicely so you were not right next to one another, so it was very quiet and private. The actual 'room' itself was comfortable enough, lit with only a simple string of Christmas lights and a small candle, beautiful soothing music playing. The therapy table was a new one for me, I am used to my therapist changing the sheets in between each client, but I can understand how cumbersome it must get if you are changing multiple tables every hour. And my therapist offers a sheet, not a towel to cover with, but the towel was huge and worked just as well. Now I asked for a deep tissue with hard pressure, and Ada (my massuse) was AMAZING! It was a very different massage than I have ever had in the past, but it was awesome, she found so many trigger points and with the use of her elbows, fingers and KNEES, successfully relieved my pain. And she frequently asked if the pressure was ok, if she was working the right areas or if I prefered something different, she was very accommodating. Never have I had someone use hot stones as trigger release, and she did and it was awesome. Now I have never been a fan of reflexology, if you ask me I'd certainly pass in exchange for more of a traditional massage, until today that is. As the hour was nearing the end, and I was so relaxed and feeling so good, she began working on my feet - I was surprised but ok it felt good enough. Until she got to 3 certain spots, it hurt so bad I jerked my foot away and she said, I so sorry, you have digestive problems huh? Oh, I am so sorry I reply, I don't know what is wrong with my stomach but all of a sudden it was gurgling, loudly, I was so embarrassed. And she said, oh no, that is me, I am making that happen, this part of your foot is the digestive area. Stunned, I just looked at her, she must have seen my confusion, she released her fingers, and in a few seconds, it stopped, she began again, and it started again. then a stabbing pain in my head, and she said, oh you have terrible migraines too huh? Needless to say, I am a believer. The only part I was a bit upset with, is at the end when I went to pay, and I was figuring out her tip in my head when the gentleman informs me they mandate a 20% tip at minimum. Being from NY, you would never hear that, no one tells you what you will tip them. I asked him to repeat it, I said then why don't you say that at the beginning? Oh it 20% at least, you can give more if you want, was his reply. Now, she did an awesome job, that wasn't the point. If they are going to force you to give a tip (which I thought was voluntary, I didn't know you could tell customers what they will tips) then say that upfront and include it in the price like restraunts do. Say massage is 55 + 20% tip so in reality you are paying 65.00 minimum. I just absolutely hate it when ppl do this, just be honest and upfront, put up a sign or something. Other than that gliche at the end, the experience was totally amazing. I went and tried this place after reading the reviews. It's a very simple place as far as decor and the rooms are curtain walls but their big and private. The only draw back is you can hear other people as they come and go and you hear other timers going off. But the massage was excellent and better then some fancy spa's I've been too. I wish i could give this place 0 stars! when i arrived for my reflexology appointment, the massage therapist was 20minutes late. the place is located in a basement and does not appear to be a legal practice. "Rooms" are separated by drapes, and there is NO sense of relaxation or peace for many reasons. 1. most spas have dimmed lighting, they put me in a "room" right in front of a bright light which was shining directly through the cheap curtains they used. 2. The business next door was blasting music and people were walking around upstairs so despite the calm music they attempt to play, all you hear is the commotion from next door. the massage itself was terrible. The therapist applied no pressure and honestly kept looking at his timer as if he just wanted to get the massage over with. It was by far the WORST massage i ever recieved. Also the person next to me was making disturbing noises as if more than a massage was going on. OVerall this place should be CLOSED. it was the most uncomfortable service and place ive ever been too. good thing i purchased this on a groupon bc they woould NEVER get 70$ for the crap they gave me. please if you are looking for even a semi ok massage .. I went to this place on a whim one day when I was feeling tired and in need of some nurturing for my body. Found it through Yelp and read the reviews so was expecting something different than what it is which is essentially the kind of massage you would find in a mall. The masseuses hardly speak English (which is not a big deal) and the massage itself was a little rough. I told the lady in sign language that my neck hurt and when she went to work on it, she went to town on it and it was so painful. I know that was my fault for not stopping her. Sometimes I have to let go of the idea of it takes pain to release pain, haha. Anyway the actual environment is a no frills place. You walk into a corridor where there is a desk and the man signs you in. Then you walk through a door where there is a line of stalls separated by curtains. I heard a man next to me shouting that all of sudden there was "fire" shooting down his leg (or something to that effect) and then groaning and grunting all the way out the door while I was getting my massage. The massage wasn't relaxing so much as "therapeutic" and I use that term loosely. It is akin to the kind where the lady walks on your back (except she doesn't walk on your back, just kneels on you at one point to get more leverage). The price is not expensive and the good thing is they probably have appointments most times of the day so you don't have to plan far ahead. read more
