Referred to this practice by my Spine Doctor after months of treatment after being rear ended and…read moregetting multiple fractured vertebrae. Had to wait for several weeks for appointment. Sent in the usual paperwork, but apparently it didn't get entered properly and had to fill it out again on arrival. Was "interviewed" by a "medical assistant". Left alone in room for about 15 mins or so before the "nurse practicioner" came in and went over same information as the medical assistant. She didn't do any kind of physical examination, and prescribed 3 drugs. (I wasn't looking to get drugs, but the severity of the pain that I STILL have made me take them). Was forceful in scheduling a nerve block in 2 weeks (earliest available). One drug was a standard low level pain med. The second drug, that I'd never heard of was samples (that I had to wait 20 mins for the MA to give me). There were no specific instructions on dosage, even in the fine print literature in the package. The third drug literally knocked me OUT for 2+ HOURS. I thought that the combination of the 3rd drug and the first was the cause of this, so the 2nd day, I only took drug #3 by itself. Knocked out AGAIN, for 3+ HOURS. I called the practice for clarification on drug #2. On Thursday. No return call by Monday. Called again. Called again Tuesday. Called again Wednesday. Finally got a return call LATE Wednesday afternoon by the medical assistant again. She said she'd have to have the NP call me. Told her to cancel the nerve block, because hey, if you can't return my calls FOR A WEEK, I can't trust you to muck about inside my spine!! I'm still waiting to hear from the NP. They called the day before the cancelled nerve block to "remind me".... seriously? Stay away....far, far, away... I'd rather suffer than trust these folks to help!!!

They never did an examination, one of the procedures was assisted by the front desk person. Terrible at communications, their new computer systems seems to have bugs. I was a medical health care provider. I know medicine. I knew more then him. You want your Dr to know more then you. He told me that he'll release me from practice during this difficult time because I yelled at his staff because I'm in complete agony and crippled. He has never gotten on the phone to actually talk to me. Now has Covid and office closed. I must take this higher. This doctor should not be allowed to practice. I will find a new doctor as soon as I can get around if I ever do recover because I can't move. Lost much weight and I'm tiny to begin with. Can't walk and have to crawl.. would not give me any pain medications. I cry all day long!! I'm ready to die. I'm 70 years old a widow and all family dead.. I have no one to help me. Says that's my problem. What a guy! Go elsewhere. And his staff is rude and useless especially Amy. This is a new practice. It will not survive. Not recommended. Beware!

An elderly woman was brought into the waiting area in a wheelchair and was clearly in signiicant pain. She was crying, visibly shaking and remained in that condition or at least two hours. I went to the front desk TWICE and specifically told the staff that I was an RN and that she appeared to be in signifcant pain and needed someone to check on her. Despite this, no one came to assess her. This went on for a significant amount of time--many hours. I sat with this woman and it ripped at my heart. Surely, someone in this level of pain should be triaged ahead of others. Advent emphasizes that they are compassionate and patient centered. Unfortunately, this did not feel safe practice or compassionate in any way. My husband was not doing well either so we made the decision to leave after waiting 6-7 hours. At least, because we were there earlier, he was triaged and got a CT scan. We were told to check the portal. We will go to another ER if we have urgent needs. We are very pleased with our Advent Doctors, but this situation was very upsetting. As I read other reviews, this isn't isolated. Advent--you need to do better!!!

We tried Dr. Swann for our initial visit. We love Dr. Swann. She is thorough, patient, kind and helpful. She listens to my children, she explains herself, and she prompt in responding to issues. I have had some difficulty with the office. There has been several computer system changes (according to the office staff) which has lead to constantly having to update information, inability to log onto the patient portal, and mix-ups with insurance, parent, and payment information. I needed information for my child's school from the doctor's office. I was unable to log in to the patient portal to request the information. I tried to schedule an appointment online and was not allowed to do so. I called the office to request the information. I was told it would be handled. Nothing. I hand delivered a written request. Again, nothing. 2 months later, I have finally scheduled an appointment! Here's hoping we can get all of this resolved before Christmas!

Not only is he a great chiropractor but he's also someone who genuinely wants to help others and it shows both in his care at this clinic but also because he does work out in the community for those who can't afford chiropractic care. He also offers a sliding scale to keep things affordable. He also took the time to write us a list of places he thought we should visit in Asheville.
