I repeatedly explained that I was simply trying to find out what was required to schedule a new patient appointment, but the conversation felt confusing, dismissive, and unnecessarily difficult. As someone seeking help while actively suffering from migraine symptoms, a little patience and kindness would have gone a long way. While I understand providers may not be accepting new patients, I left the call feeling frustrated and unsupported rather than informed. I hope the clinic can improve the way new patient inquiries are handled, especially for people already dealing with significant health challenges. Very rude staff.

Before the initial visit, there was an extensive medical history taken. At the first visit, my wife expected the usual hour wait and 10-15 minutes with the doctor. She was ushered into a room immediately and an extensive battery of tests began. The doctor then spent almost 3 1/2 hours discussing her medical needs. I was waiting for her in the car and became so worried that I went inside to ask about her. The receptionist assured me that this was typical for first visits. It may be a bit of a drive for us living in Waynesville, but the quality of care is certainly with it.

Although I rarely use the on call, it is phenomenal. These Doctors truly care about their patients and Dr Rennard is genuinely interested in me and my family. I have been a client for many years dealing with both minor and major health issues. Dr. Weizman is my primary doctor but I have seen some of the others in the practice. He is one of the best doctors in Asheville. He returns every call or email I send within the same day. Most times it is after office hours but he DOES return your calls. Never had any problems making appointments. The Front Desk folks are top notch. If they can't get me in that day, they easily set me up for the next day. The nurses, PA's, lab crew and everyone in the office has always been quite good at their jobs. They answer all of my many questions and concerns and also relay them to my doctor if he needs to follow-up. I'm never rushed through any part of my appointment. Dr. Weizman will review your lab work, his recommendations or records from my other doctors. I never leave feeling confused or concerned about my health. These are the people you want taking care of you when you're not feeling too good. I highly recommend the whole practice if you need them.

On my most recent ER visit I went in with severe nerve pain in my lower back. After check in I was brought back to a room and was visited by a DR Gail Tolten within 15 minutes. She ordered X-rays and a steroid shot which I received within 5 minutes. I had X-rays done within 15 minutes. Dr. Tolten then came back about 15-20 minutes later and explained everything she saw on the X-rays. I was given meds for pain and muscle relaxer and told to follow up with my GP about an MRI. I was in at 9:00 am and out by 11:00 am. I was also visited by Josh Carter of the SCOUTS program. He informed me of quite a few programs offered to vets over 60 that I wasn't aware of. If you are a vet or spouse of one, I highly recommend this hospital. The best VA hospital I have ever experienced.

I got a blood panel test in early February and here I am 2 months later, having called 10 or 12 times asking and I still don't have those results. I did get a call from dr Hester with a couple of the numbers but he did not see all the results we tested for and said he'd look into it, but it's probably been 6 or 8 weeks now and though I keep calling, I still don't have results. As a patient who's paid for these results ( at least I pay my insurance to pay for them) they are rightfully mine and I'm frustrated by this situation. It makes me think the results were never tested for or that they were lost or discarded.
