Through Micah and Zfg mortgage we applied for multiple grants and programs for first time homebuyer assistance and were turned down the first time. Micah then informed us we didn't qualify for one but we qualified for another. We were told we could be expecting a 7k assistance toward our down payment and closing costs. We checked in a couple more times in the weeks leading up because that assistance wasn't showing up on any of the documents they sent and he assured us every time that we'd have it for closing. The day before closing Micah called us stating we didn't qualify for the first time home buyers grant and gave no explanation for why we couldn't utilize that program. We could afford to proceed with the purchase of the house but if we weren't fortunate to be able to, we would have lost a lot of time, money, and ultimately wouldn't have been able to purchase a house at all. Micah is a nice guy but seems under trained or incompetent with first time home buyers.
