I had great Indian food here! I grew up about an hour away but live in a bigger city now with lots of Indian options. My young nieces like to get Indian when they visit me so we wanted to get some when I was visiting them. So we trekked to Moosic. Since it was lunch and they had a buffet we thought we would go for it. They had a great selection. It was all super tasty and fresh. I brought my niece in as we passed through for a sampling of Indian dishes. I took off 3 stars because we had to send our first 3 out of 5 dishes back. The butter chicken was sent back because it just wasn't good nor was it typical of butter chicken I have eaten ever (possibly because they use dark tandori meat pulled off the bone though that doesnt explain the visible spices?)... The goat vindaloo was returned because there was a course, short, black hair in it on our first and only scoop; the replacement was fine and I wouldn't order it again. The palak paneer was returned because is was medium/hot and we ordered mild to satisfy a teenager palate; the replacement was good. As soon as we told them of the problems with those dishes, they responded immediately which earned them a star back. The Lamb Kabab Masala was AMAZING! The samosa was excellent in texture and taste. The rice was fine, nothing special. The Mango Lassi was delicious. It was a little warm inside so other than a quick bite of the spicer palak panner and a few bites of the lamb, my niece's adventure in Indian cuisine ended early as she got overheated and had to wait in the car. The owner (I assume) did come by our table to apologize and to check on us. They even took the time to explain the difference in their butter chicken process and recipe as compared to others. My husband and I love coming here to take advantage of the all you can eat lunch buffet. This establishment is always clean, the buffet area is kept clean, and the servers are friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and delicious. I love that they have a variety of popular items so you get to sample a little of everything with rice. On this visit, I tried the rice pudding, which was pretty watery, not a thick typical pudding consistency, but I learned why. This is a delicious, creamy, and refreshing palette cleanser between dishes. It's chilled with a hint of coconut and I wish I started my meal with it instead of getting it on my second round. Came here one day while in Scranton on some business. Saw that there was a lunch buffet and we enjoy Indian food and enjoy it even more when you can sample a little of everything so we dropped in. The Naan was fresh and hot, that was a nice touch. A lot of times on an Indian buffet the naan settles to room temperature and it's not as enjoyable. The pakora's were also quite good, better than most Indian restaurants. Everything else to be honest was satisfactory, but nothing else stood out. There are a lot of Indian buffets we have been to where I remember a lot of distinct things about the dishes but everything was fairly run of the mill. It's not bad by any means, and for the Scranton area it's a solid selection for lunch. read more

I was in the mood for Indian food while out of town for work so tried this spot. When I arrived I parked in the restaurant's parking lot. I walked in and decided to sit at the bar. DJ and Bobbie were my waiter and waitress. I started with a glass of wine and for appetizer I got the aloo tikki which was very tasty. I wanted to try the long island iced tea but I didn't care for it so stuck with the red wine. For my entrée I ordered the fish curry. It looked yummy when it came out. I dug in and it was very good and plenty. The bill came out and I noticed the wine was marked wrong in price so I mentioned it. They told me they have to change the menu because the price went up and apologized. Besides that the bill was affordable and I had a pretty decent experience. read more

A vegan that's exploring in a small town in PA that offers a vegan options is a no easy task. We stopped by this location knowing that they would have a few dishes that would not include meats or diary and it's in a buffet style! Everyday - yummy for your tummy. Ya girl was excited to try a few different dishes all at once. They had one section that has meat in the dishes and one dishes that it's all vegetables. I got to try all the vegan dishes that they had to offer that day and I enjoyed it. I would come back if I'm in that town again. The food temperature isn't warm-hot or cold, it's like room temperature. I was starving that day when I came so I didn't really care about the temperature. The seasoning in the food was there but I feel like they can add some more heat or depth into the seasoning. Service can be a lil slow, to re fill the water and to take way dirty dishes. A restaurant that's right odd the highway is a no easy task to maintain and make everyone happy but it's a very good spot for anyone who enjoys Indian food. read more

I have been coming here for years for the lunch buffet. They have many options to choose from, my favorites being the Dal Makhani, basmati rice, chicken makhani and the tandoori chicken. The outer appearance is scanty but is not representative of how great their food is. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you get a very feel-good classy vibe. Though not an upscale restaurant, you get that classy feeling as soon as you enter. Instantly, you're greeted by the staff and they're very attentive. You're seated pretty quickly as the place isn't usually too packed. Our favorite dishes so far have been the chicken saag, lamb chops, garlic naan, and mango lassi. I generally can't handle as much spice as my better half can (Ang again), which is why Indian food was always a struggle to enjoy. But what's pretty cool about this place is that they do have the option of making their dishes mild enough for my sensitive palate. We generally order take-out, but you also have the option of a lunch buffet during the afternoon hours. This is pretty awesome as you can generally eat as much as you can fill and you have the opportunity to try a bunch of different dishes. Dessert is also offered. Speaking of dessert, the Gulab Jamun is tasty af. It's practically a honey cheeseball... it tastes much better than it sounds. Speaking from my perspective (Angie), this place has definitely changed my mind as I used to give an awkward face every time Indian food was mentioned. The taste is very authentic North Indian and the choice of dishes in the buffet is good. The staff are very friendly and plenty of seating as well. They have a full bar as well. Really the only Indian food for miles, and luckily it's good! Have only ever been here for the lunch buffet (multiple times) and I love it. Tons of vegetarian selections (and non as well) with a rotating menu. The rice is cooked to perfection, the naan is hot and fresh, and I especially love the vegetable korma. I usually try a bit of everything but that is my favorite and they seem to always have it. The restaurant itself is kind of retro, 80's, with booths and plenty of seating. They have an ice cream machine with rose and mango flavored soft serve! Sometimes also gulab jamin. The staff is moderately personable, except the people at the front desk. I had the Vegetable Samosa, and they were so crisp and aromatic with spices, which was a great way to start the meal. Also the Aloo Paratha was tasteful and not greasy like some restaurants. I had the Curry Goat, and it was done perfectly. The meat was so tender, and the sauce spiced just right to my instructions. The decor is very pleasant, almost with a zen-like feel with the fairly quiet atmosphere and music. The food on the buffet pushed all my umami buttons, with everything spiced just the way I like it. There were several dishes on their buffet I had never seen before, such as their squash masala. The pleasant surprise was something I haven't yet seen at any other Indian buffet, mango and rose soft ice creams. They were a tiny bit watery in texture, but the deep, rich, flavor made up for it.
