The roast duck here is mad good!…read more The duck meat was tender and juicy with just the nice amount of duck fat and crispiest duck skin ever. I could eat this all day, every day. They are very reasonably priced too, $12 for rice plate or alternatively you can have the whole duck for $ 38 - the portions were generous! Nothing much going on in term of ambiance, design was very standard to other Chinese place in the area. Also, don't expect tender loving care here, you will be disappointed. Overall, great Cantonese food, budget friendly, quick and reliable! Tip: Cash only.

Authentic, awesome tasting food with friendly wait staff. We were a party of 10, so we got to try over a dozen dishes. The interior is nothing fancy, but the food is as good as anything I have had in Hong Kong. Our favorite dishes were: Roast Duck - excellent, crispy skin, juicy meet, great flavor Soya sauce chicken - perfect, authentic, just how it is meant to be done BBQ Roast Pork - Excellent, very tender, just the right amount of fat, that was also soft and tasty. Crocodile with xo chili sauce - This is the best crocodile meat dish I have ever had. They must pound the meat because it was very tender and went so well with the bold sauce. This should be their signature dish. Green beans, pork and dried fish. Excellent. I could eat this all day. Scallops with vegetable - Excellent, lots of flavor Prawns and egg whites - Loved this, large prawns, cooked perfectly with that fresh crunch. Singapore Noodles - Very tasty Mango Chicken - Tasty, good for kids and less adventurous eaters

I went to the DC Dumpling & Noodle Restaurant for a late lunch on a recent Saturday afternoon…read more I think it was a good thing that we were eating between the usual lunch or dinner hours as the venue was relatively small, and there was still a decent amount of customers in attendance given it was basically afternoon tea time. The service was basic but effective. Super efficient to have us seated, provide us with tea, take our order and deliver us edible gold aka dumplings. We chose to try both a fried and a steamed option - opting for the steamed peking and fried chicken and prawn dumplings. The steamed serve arrived first and we eagerly tucked into the little packages of goodness. The fried serve was the next to arrive and these had to be eaten with a bit more care as the cases had almost seared closed in the frying process which meant they held in a lot of the heat (I burned my lip more than once!) - they could possibly have been taken out of the pan a minute earlier. It was just a problem with the fried dumplings as you were unable to devour them at the rate you desired (immediately!) because of the heat they were containing. Aerating them via chopstick with an added dose of patience and you were good to go. All in all, a delightful experience that has left me dreaming about my next dumpling fix!

Service is fine. Decor is minimalist (wooden tables w no cloth covering) but since I paid only $6…read morefor my delish dumplings n fried rice n pancake n singapore noodles dinner..I was very fine with it! Not a place for date nite bc it does NOT impress. But i will go back again and bring mates and tell my friends about it when we r in the mood for delish dumplings and good conversation w no pressure to eat and leave.

All the other patrons sounded like regulars and were addressed by name, which shows those who love it here must come back often. The space is *huge* and a touch nicer than many Chinese restaurants around, without being anything fancy or sophisticated. That said, the prices definitely are 'Balwyn prices'. Most mains start at $25 (well above most Chinese places) and those with big appetites may wonder where the bang for their buck is. (Luckily we had an Entertainment book coupon to help.) We had a few entrees - dumplings (which there was disappointingly few of on the otherwise expansive menu), chive pancake and BBQ off-bone ribs. All were excellent quality, and these dishes are actually priced pretty reasonably at around $7 each. For mains we shared a fantastic beef dish, and the 'crispy chicken', which was the only one that let us down. The bone-filled chicken cuts were not the greatest - a little gristly - and the batter on the skin was like a salt-punch to the mouth. A pity, as all the other dishes and the service had us ready to flat-out rave. It's BYO and the corkage was very reasonable - I think we were charged under $4 for two of us. Would be back but probably only if we had another discount as there's just so much good food around the area for an overall more attractive price point.

The staff were lovely and turned on the lights to the Fish Tanks to entertain the kids. I hadn't eaten from here since we first moved into the area but enjoyed the Chicken with Vegetables plus Cashews. The kids liked the sauce and first time they had had Baby Corn. I liked it a lot.
