Bummer! I used to love this store and shopped there frequently when I lived in the area. I came back for a visit, and was shocked at the change in vibe and merchandise. Crowded space filled with tawdry trinkets, that used to be elegant and open space from which to shop for well curated product. I don't think Bob is happy there, given his antisocial vibe and demeanor. Needless to say, I walked out, and bought some Birkenstocks at the shoe store nearby. I hope they can revive the store and bring back the good energy. I hope things improve. read more

An experience to ponder: yesterday I took my brother and his wife to wander around the shopping area of town. The person at the register said to a shopper, "why are you wearing a mask?" She replied that she wasn't vaxxed and was protecting herself and other shoppers. She was not snarky or pushy, just answered the question. The register lady sort of snort-laughed derisively and said ooooh, ooo-kaay. The shopper left without making a purchase, as did my little group. 1: why did the register person feel the need to accost the shopper? 2: They lost at least 4 purchases in that moment, and I won't be back if I see that lady at the register again. And then I wonder if it was the owner at the register? 3: shops complain about losing business, but if this is what's going on, then yeah, they're losing business. There were many interesting things I would have purchased, had it not been for this interaction. read more

Located on "historic" G Street, right downtown, NABS offers almost high end, almost quality leather purses, murses, sandals & shoes. Styles and sizes are limited. There is an array of T-shirts and other apparel, again limited. Incense, greeting cards, tarot cards, essential oils, jewelry, lotions --- you get the picture. There is a decent selection of greeting cards to be found at NABS. What there is an abundance of is ATTITUDE from the proprietor/sales staff. It's that "I'm better than you, and far better than the younger (teens) people on the streets around here" that takes away from what this store could be. Always a Bum Steer in my book. read more

Wow. I've been to stores where the owner is a bit uptight, but this owner is just plan rude. Spent most of the time we were there on the phone and was clearly upset to have to "deal" with customers. So sorry that I actually spent money that I could have spent at other stores in the downtown area where the owners didn't act like I was just a waste of their time. It is a store that offers merchandise for both men and women. One of my favorite stores in Grants Pass. I joined yelp to say that it is NEVER A BUM STEER. To the previous reviewer: You need to go to Walmart. You will be greeted at the door and there will not be high quality products but many choices to choose from whatever they sell there. You will find anything your heart desires at Walmart EXCEPT A NICE LOCAL ECONOMY. Never A Bum Steer is for people that realize quality when they see it. This store is a hole in the wall and has unique finds. When I needed a size for my Danskos they were extremely helpful with the sizing and styling. Their honest suggestions were a breath of fresh air and I was left with a satisfaction about the way they handled the whole affair. What more do people want? Some people are never happy because they are always wanting everything yesterday and for free. If you want Italian leather the go to WWW.Nordstrom.COM lady. The staff was not snobby at all and had no attitude like the other reviewer proclaimed. I don't work there by the way but would be a little put off by the sour puss of a lady that expects to be swarmed over and has a super center selection mentality instead of appreciating a specialty store for what it is: specialization. It is really annoying. I love the local shops such as this and it makes me mad that people like the previous reviewer are so sour about them not sprinkling rose petals where she may tread. Hard to figure out how this owner has stayed in business for so long. He's not helpful, actually downright rude, in his own zone and doesn't seem to care. Not just a one-off experience but pretty much all the time. I used to like this shop, some nice people worked there, and I want to buy locally, but he makes it hard. The merchandise has gotten stupidly expensive, it's too cluttered and there's a lot of tacky tasteless low class items. (socks with the F word on them? Nice...Was in there recently after long break and it was the same deal. No help, no greeting. Wouldn't go back, I'd do without. read more

Wanted to try on a pair of shoes, and the (male) store owner insisted on helping me.. I understand trying to be helpful, but I'm sensitive about my personal space, and asked him to please let me do it myself. After putting the first shoe on, I tried to stand up to get the feel, and this man tried to grab my foot (after I've expressed multiple times I do not want him to touch me), until my boyfriend (who had been sitting next to me) stood up and asked him why he was still trying to touch me. To this, the man responded that we had to leave or he was going to call the cops ??? when the woman working the register (the other owner I assume), who had missed the entire interaction as she had gone outside, came in and asked what was going on. We explained what had happened, and she said it's an old practice to help people size their shoes--which I understand-- however, when an adult asks that another adult not put their hands on that person's body, it's never okay to go ahead and touch them.. the woman asked if I still wanted to buy the shoes but after that excruciatingly uncomfortable violation of personal space, I do not want to support their business, and will never again. It's a bummer because the shop has some cool jewelry and trinkets, and I've shopped there before with no issue, but after such a blatant violation of boundaries and being threatened to have the cops called on me for objecting to it, these people are not deserving of anyone's money in my opinion. read more

They also carry a variety of other products but I have only purchased shoes there. Great shoes!! Fun lotions " Naked Bee " and specialty oils. Rare find in this small town. Great experience. I have lived in Grants Pass over three years and never knew they existed. I was so happy to find a great selection and top quality shoes. I have a unusual feet, long but narrow ect. I probably pulled at least ten different shoes to try on. Most places get frustrated with me as I'm extremely picky. They were so patient, and never made me feel as if I was too high maintenance ( I am ). They tried so hard to make me happy, not my usual experience in Grants Pass. I will definitely return, and tell everyone I know to check it out.
