I've been a client of Neve for almost 6 yrs now. Pretty much started coming shortly after it opened. I don't see myself going anywhere else. My teen and husband see Ren who does a phenomenal job with traditional men's cuts, vibrant/vivid colors, and alternative hairstyles. My teen has been doing vivid colors for 3+ years now and Ren has done a great job with color AND care of my teen's hair. I see Kim who is fantastic with color, blonde, and modern cuts. I've been growing out my gray (or silver as she calls it) and she's helped me do it in a way I love. Kim has done my hair platinum, blonde, caramel, ash, brown, black, peek-a-boo vivid, block vivid, and more. It's never over processed and stays very healthy. I've seen Alicia do excellent hair cuts on teenage boys to men well past just salt and pepper. She's always friendly and kind to everyone in her chair. I had an AMAZING experience at this beautiful, airy, relaxing salon! I was so anxious walking in the door because of what I had done to my poor hair. Stylist/owner Kim Ochoa took me under her wing so that I left feeling and looking 100% better! Before I went to Neve, I had damaged my hair over the past three years with several home bleach attempts, and awful DIY cuts. I felt so ashamed of my hair that I didn't want to go to a salon in Santa Cruz, my hometown, but I finally decided to give Neve a try during our annual family trip to Tahoe. Kim treated me with total compassion, and she took the time to discuss my future hair goals so that I felt empowered to take better care of my hair. I love having long hair, but my ends were so damaged that I wanted to start fresh and Kim cut them off, fixing my jagged layers into a short cut I'm happy with until it grows back to my regular shoulder length! I'm thrilled I found this salon, and I'm beyond grateful the prices are affordable, too! I had such a great appointment that I will wait until I can visit Tahoe again just so I can have Kim do more magic on my hair! read more

I want to start off on a positive note. Everyone was nice. Unfortunately, I don't feel like I was listened to at all. I came in with long hair and essentially was looking for a trim. That is absolutely not what I got. My hair was cut so incredibly short, and layers were added, which I did not want. My hair is not very uneven and short. I can't even put my hair in a ponytail or bun. I came home crying. I have very thick hair, so I can't even wear my hair down cause it is so uneven and the cut is so bad. This was the first time since becoming a mom and essentially losing my identity that I did something nice for myself, and it just has made things incredibly worse. I feel like I spent $100.00 to have someone ruin my hair and hurt my self-esteem. I definitely will not be returning. I hope that others have a much better experience than I had. Kimberely always takes care of everything my hair could need. I've been going to her since before she opened Neve and she is fantastic at what she does. Up-dos, color correction, haircuts, she does it all! She's always patient and listens to her clients and tries to ensure everyone is always on the same page before cutting or coloring. This new salon is quickly becoming known among Donner Lake and Truckee and her team of stylists are ready to pamper you till your hearts content. I was in the area from the Bay and my hair needed some serious attention. I called Neve and they were able to give me a same day appointment with Lauren. After a quick consult with this lovely stylist, I got a shampoo/conditioning and a good layered trim. She blow dried my hair with a big roll brush and almost put me to sleep in the chair. Kim is AMAZING with color. Kim has been doing my hair for a few years and hits the color perfect every time. She listens to your needs and adjusts tint as accordingly. I am an indecisive person when it comes to my hair and she helps steer me in the right direction based on my personality and description. Best salon on the lake. Kim is fantastic with hair color and finding the right cut. She was my stylist in the Bay Area and I now drive to see her every so often to have my hair done. I moved to Tahoe and needed a hair stylist I could completely trust. I have long, thick hair and finding a stylist willing to put in the extra time and effort to ensure my hair is taken care of is hard. I found Kimberely and she helped start the color correction process of going back to my natural hair color in 2016. I had a previous stylist who had been coloring my hair from root to end for over a year and I finally wanted to go natural again. Its now 2018 and my hair is healthy, and with Kim's expertise and help she continues to keep it from looking toned out and orange. She also is great when I need a trim, and never cuts too much off ;) She loves her clients and really wants to make you feel beautiful when you leave her chair.
