I came as a walk-in and they were able to serve me immediately, which was nice. Even when the salon got busier there was a lot of staff available so no one had to wait. I got a gel mani pedi and had two technicians working on that at once. They worked well together to make sure it was okay for the other to move my legs or hands, so that it wouldn't disrupt the process. The hot stone massage was a nice touch as well! I like my nails really short and they did well with that -- everything came out great and was done quickly. Also, I'm not really a talker and I appreciated that they let me be in silence throughout my appoinment (but they had no problem chatting with some other customers wanted to have a conversation). The only downside or thing to be aware of is that its cash only. There is an ATM inside, just something that caught me a little off guard. read more

I've been coming here for about a year, and they are always lovely! After going just a couple of times they remembered my high maintenance preferences (very ticklish!) regarding pedicures and always do a great job with my dip nail requests. They do a great job making everyone feel welcome and if they have the space they make sure they allow room for walk-ins while still managing all the prescheduled appointments. No, no, no. This place does not seem sanitary. The guy who worked on my toes literally dipped the brush into the big bottle of acetone multiple times instead of pouring the acetone into a little container. There is no way that's not some kind of health violation. He also completely wreaked of smoke! Like he was just on his smoke break right before working on my feet. Also, the place has boxes and looks like other junk just shoved into a visible corner of the store, weird. The manicurist who did my fingernails was really nice and did a good job. I asked if they take credit card and a different guy tried to tell me their cc machine wasn't working but the manicurist said I could pay with cc, weird. I was visiting for the day and had time to spend while my kids were on the slopes so I decided to get a mani/pedi. The salon was inviting and clean and staff were very friendly. They were patient while I decided exactly what type of nail service I wanted. Milly did my manicure and Tracy did my pedi and I was very happy with the experience and outcome. Terrible ! I had an appointment for a deluxe mani and pedi. My text confirmation that I received from this business shows it too. The guy starts my pedicure and seemed to be rushing. He starts putting on clear coat and I tell him "I thought you were doing deluxe?" I didn't get the scrub or hot wax treatment. He says no , I didn't know . I was like my text from you guys even shows that I am . He said sorry and rushed to his other client. I told him forget about the manicure then. We are here visiting from SF and I needed a gel mani and regular pedicure refresh! I normally go every 2.5 weeks and visit the same nail salon in the Marina so I was a little worried to try a new spot here in Truckee. I called to make a 12:30 appointment on a Friday and when I arrived they had me wait for 30 minutes. Not a huge deal since I'm on vacation but I'll try to switch up the day / time for my next visit. I had the same person do my hands and feet so the visit took about two hours. The gel mani and regular pedicure are one of the best ones I've ever had done. Perfection! The guy that did my nails is named, Diamond. Be sure to ask for him! Only reason I gave this place four stars - the prices are crazy. $85 for the gel mani and regular pedicure- that's over $20 more than I pay in SF! I always tip 20% so this was an expensive visit but still worth it. read more

I have been to T&T Nails on many occasions and usually I am extremely happy with the results. However, my most recent experience has left me wondering if I will ever return. The other day, I experienced the most painful manicure I have ever had in my life. The woman who was prepping my nails clipped my cuticles to death, resulting in a cut on my finger. I actually had to pull my hand away from her in pain. The day after I got my manicure, my fingers still hurt. Especially the one with a gaping cut on it. I don't know my manucurist's name, but she was an older woman... Many times throughout my manicure she would make a mistake and then overcorrect by using a nail file or worse... the little nail clippers that ultimately left my forefinger throbbing. I actually fantasized about leaving in the middle of this torture, before my manicure was complete. I'll reiterate that this has been my only bad experience here, but it's one that will be hard for me to shake. It may be a long time, if ever, that I return. read more

I went to get a manicure and the 2 days later my cuticles looked like this.. I don't think it is normal. Before the pealing my cuticles were red and inflamed. When the lady was helping me the cuticle remover tool had someone else's skin still stuck on it that she just took off with her fingers. Never coming back to this place. read more

Easy to get in this place but unfortunately something was wrong with the gel. It did not cure properly. At first I thought it was just one nail so I went back and had it fixed for free but over the next couple days there were more nails that failed. Had to have them completely redone elsewhere since I had left Tahoe. Was told by another nail tech that black gel is sometimes hard to cure and that next time I should only have a single coat with black. Live and learn. read more

Bummed :( I have been looking for a good place in Tahoe to get my nails done and unfortunately I am still on the hunt! The ladies here are super nice but I felt like I just landed with an under-experienced tech. I knew after they were finished that the consistency of the filing was off and there were weird lumps throughout the nail but I was willing to look past that because all in all they were okay. Now I'm barely into week 2 and i have 3 broken or messed up nails. The gel peeled off of two of them, one broke completely and another chipped super easily when i picked up a box the other day. I've broken nails before but it's usually only if I'm forced into the 4 week mark with traveling. Super disappointed. I would've come back for a fix but the winter conditions kept me from being able to make the trip.
