I told her that I didn't own the vehicle when it was towed. Her tone completely changed and she started berating me yelling "SHOW THE PROOF!! YOU DIDN'T TAKE YOUR PLATES OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT IN TO THE DMV" She also added something to the effect of, SO YOU WILL PAY FOR IT WEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. After I started asking her on why thinks that it's okay to talk to someone for the first time like this, she hung up on me before I could finish. Seriously?!?! She is representing a company, and I'd understand if we had spoken before and if I was rude to her, but right off the bat, wow. I'd be surprised if she got anyone to pay up with that attitude. Goodluck with that.

Brian the "Manager" is rude, abrasive, and unprofessional. I am an employer who had the very unpleasant experience of dealing with this company on a writ for one of my past employees. They denied receiving payments, told me to call the "Washoe County Sherriff and call them liars". I had to reach out to the Washoe County Sherriff and retrieve the payment information, provide that to Summit and was still screamed and and hung up on multiple times due to Brian's ignorance and distain for his position.

I've been meaning to do some estate planning for years and have even spoken with other attorneys…read moreabout it, but Angie was the only person who demystified the process for me. We met once to game-plan, she drafted the documents and sent them electronically (encrypted) for review, we finalized them, and then we met again to sign everything. She recorded them with the county, provided electronic and physical copies of all the signed docs immediately, and we're all set now. I'm glad it's finally done and everything is written out so that we shouldn't have to update anything unless our wishes change. I have a legal insurance plan, which made getting a trust, will, power of attorney and medical directives executed at a very reasonable rate.

Attorney Elquist helped us set up a Trust, Powers of Attorney for Health and Finances for both me and my husband, and couple other related documents. She was very organized and made what an otherwise complicated process smooth and easy to understand. She kept an open line of communication throughout and answered our questions in a timely manner. After the first meeting in person, we did everything else through email and only met again to sign the documents. She understood our time constraints and so she had everything ready to go and we finished everything during our lunch break. Having all these legal documents completed can be a daunting task so I'm very glad to have Atty Elquist to guide us throughout the process. I highly encourage everyone to (1) have the necessary legal papers in place; (2) check if this is something offered through work. The fees can be pricey (at least $2k), so having work cover part of it is a great benefit to take advantage of,; and (3) contact Atty Elquist for a consultation. Each family has different needs but she will be happy to walk you through what documents you need to have in place. I highly recommend!

I paid for the service of documents at the time my request was sent to them. They added additional charges to my invoice without discussing it with me and without authorization. They have refused to allow me to speak with the owner or a supervisor. Now, after having to call and threaten to sue them, I received an amended invoice and IT IS STILL NOT RIGHT, they took the additional charges off and reversed my original payment and are trying to double charge me! The party was never served either. Do not use this company, they are horrible.

A male there told us they have a 10% Veterans Discount, so we made an appointment for at their office as they don't come to us. We showed up on time for our appointment. Two men and one woman were sitting at desks in a large open room when we walked in. The room is very very cluttered. These three employees ignored us. We called out, "Hello, we're here for an appointment." One of the men stood up and grudgingly come over to us. I said, "Hello. We have an appointment." This man didn't say Hello to us nor did he tell us his name. He was very unsure about what he needed to do with our paperwork we were there to have served. He took an unreasonable amount of time to process the paperwork. Then came time for payment, which he also didn't know how to do. I proudly presented my U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs picture id with its "Service Connected Disabled" on it as well as my branch of the U.S. Armed Forces I had Served in also on it. Then this Reno Carson Messenger Service employee refused to honor any Veterans Discount let alone the one we had been quoted on the phone when the appointment was made when I pointed out we had been quoted a 10% Veterans Discount when we had called to make the appointment but it was not on their bill. We took our paperwork and their bill with no Veterans Discount on it and we left because we refuse to support all who refuse to support Veterans or fail to support Veterans. A publicly disclosed daily Veteran Discount provides resource to ensure Veterans (extraordinarily rare 7% of the population) opportunity to participate in American Dream that Veterans sacrifices have made possible for 100% of the American population. As we were gathering our paperwork and walking out this male complained to us with a parting shot sneering at us "you think you're so entitled".

I hired Patricia Halstead in January 2025 to move my legal case forward by scheduling a court date…read more Despite paying a $2,000 retainer and clearly stating my goal for a quick, conflict-free resolution, her approach proved to be inefficient, unresponsive, and misaligned with my priorities. I encountered several issues: 1. Unnecessary Escalation and Wasted Fees: Instead of scheduling a hearing, she sent an aggressive letter that I questioned. That she never followed through with the deadline she set on 2/28. This wasted time and money. I was billed $1,400 for the letter, $800 for a hostile phone call, and hundreds more for administrative tasks. 2. Lack of Progress: After filing a notice in January, no substantial work was done for months and zero documents were filed on my case. Once I terminated her services(4/28), the case started moving the next day. Also Once I requested her removal from my case, no action was taken for an entire day. I proceeded to file the notice of withdrawal myself and within minutes, Ms. Halstead began filing unnecessary documents under my case, which she continued the following day. She has since sent me emails justifying her filings despite confirmation from the courthouse that they were indeed unnecessary. 3. Misleading Billing Practices: My final bill totaled $4,684.62. Instead of refunding the unused portion of my $2,000 retainer, her office applied a "credit" to create the illusion of a discount. 4. Unprofessional Conduct: Ms. Halstead responded with hostility to a routine inquiry and billed me $800 for the call. Advice for Potential Clients: - Request flat fees or capped billing for specific tasks. - Ask for detailed, frequent invoices to monitor costs. - Ensure the attorney's approach aligns with your goals. - Document all communication and be cautious of unethical behavior. I regret that a straightforward task became months of delays, conflict, and excessive charges. Please learn from my experience and proceed cautiously when considering Patricia Halstead's legal services.
