Ms. Caffaratti represented my abuser in court proceedings. In that role, motions were filed that…read moreresulted in protective orders being dropped and required continued interaction with my abuser. Those outcomes were extremely harmful and retraumatizing for me. As a survivor of severe domestic violence, I have suffered life-altering physical injuries, including a double mastectomy due to blunt force trauma, removal of a significant portion of my chest cavity, and years of physical therapy related to neck injuries and nodules resulting from repeated strangulation. The legal outcomes in this case directly impacted my sense of safety while I was still coping with these serious medical consequences. I was 8 month pregnant when Ms. Caffaratti began assisting my domestic abuser. Based on my experience, I believe this advocacy showed a willingness to push ethical boundaries without adequate consideration for the real-world impact on survivors of abuse. This review reflects my perspective as someone directly affected by those legal actions.

I had a possible case and I tried to explain when he finished his spiel but I got 5 words out and he launches into how I don't have a case because firing someone with a criminal conviction isn't against the law, but I tried to tell him I sent them an email with that fact, a day before I even started working for them, so I felt their might be another reason, perhaps I'm a 6 foot transgender. I don't know but I thought it was shady. And I thought this lawyers office was shadier, so I just hung up. Rude and very unprofessional.

The new office, O'Mealia Law is so unorganized. I've called literally almost 100 times. Their phone tree bounces you to three different places before you can leave a message and messages are never returned. Even when I've gotten through, I spent over two months calling weekly only asking for a copy of my records and they always say they'll be mailed or they'll help eventually and it's "going out in Friday" and over a year and a half later I still have nothing. I'm not even able to follow up with a new lawyer because they have no idea what was already done which I can't prove without these records. The service is poor, they've called me regarding other peoples cases and given me their personal information on accident, unorganized to say the last. Sadly I still need my records.
