Client Review for Rivera Law Group - Marvin Gonzalez
Hello, my name is Marvin Gonzalez. I was involved in a car accident on January 22, 2025. It was a two-vehicle collision on the freeway as I was heading home, and I was rear-ended. At first, I thought the damage was minor, but in daylight, I saw that my vehicle had sustained significant damage--and I wasn't feeling well either.
I work a lot, and taking time off really impacted me and my family. I was overwhelmed, frustrated, and in pain--not just physically, but emotionally too. I've never been one to complain or seek legal help. Even after a previous major accident, I didn't reach out to an attorney. But this time, my back was in bad shape, so I went to my doctor, who referred me to Active Lifestyle Chiropractor in Reno, NV. While there, my chiropractor suggested I consider contacting Rivera Law Group.
At first, I was hesitant. I didn't want to get caught in a long, drawn-out legal process--I just wanted to get better and return to work. I dislike going to the doctor, and I hate taking time off because my family always comes first. Their business card stayed in my wallet for a week before I finally decided to give them a call for a consultation.
From the moment I spoke with Mary (a paralegal, I believe), I was met with professionalism and kindness. She and Tristin (my attorney) both took the time to explain everything clearly and assured me I had a case. Tristin was honest, transparent, and direct. He emphasized the importance of following through with all medical appointments and treatment--and both he and Mary were always just a phone call away.
Over the following weeks, I went through numerous doctor and chiropractic visits. Though I improved, the pain persisted. Eventually, after a few additional procedures, I began to experience real relief. Throughout this time, my legal team handled everything. Mary continually encouraged me to stay committed to treatment, even when I felt like giving up.
Eventually, I returned to work on modified duty. Though I was improving, the financial strain from being off work began to mount. I never sought compensation--I just wanted to heal--but the unpaid bills began taking a toll.
That's when Tristin informed me that my own insurance company had accepted liability under my underinsured motorist coverage--something I didn't even realize I had. He submitted the demand, and to my surprise, they accepted the terms without any back-and-forth. A few weeks later, the at-fault party's insurance also accepted full responsibility, again with no argument or delay.
Both insurance companies accepted the claims without questioning the validity of my injuries or the accident. And that's entirely thanks to the diligent work of Tristin and Mary, as well as the medical documentation I was guided to maintain. They told me that because I followed all medical recommendations, my case was clear-cut.
Now here's why I took the time to write this review--something I rarely do. I never met Tristin in person, yet I felt completely supported. He and Mary consistently checked in, updated me on my case, and ensured I felt heard. When it came time to settle, Tristin even reduced his attorney fees to increase my take-home amount. That kind of integrity is rare.
My case settled for $75,000.
My take-home amount was $32,000.
Medical and attorney fees totaled $43,000.
I had the honor of meeting Mary in person and thanking her for everything. She always answered my calls--no matter how many I made--and if she didn't have an answer, she found one.
Tristin--if you're reading this--Mary deserves a raise!
To anyone reading: this is my honest, personal experience. I rarely write reviews, but I'm writing this to be completely transparent and encourage others. With faith, the right team, and the right guidance, everything can work out. If you're hesitant about hiring an attorney, don't be. With Rivera Law Group, you're in very good hands.
Thank you, Tristin and Mary, for everything you did for me and my family. I'll always be grateful.
