Initially my husband began the program. I sat in on a couple of classes with my husband and it was helpful; learning about overall communication and implementing skills throughout daily interaction with others. On 7.22.19, I met with Sinert alone for a class. As it ended and I was walking out of the office leading the way to the front door, Sinert said, "You are going to be okay." I turned around and faced him and he put his hands on my face... repeating, "You are going to be okay." Sinert crossed my personal space/boundary. Sinert was within INCHES of me. In a professional setting, this was inappropriate. In a professional setting, you do not know a person's background/personal history, thus touching someone without permission is 100% NOT OKAY.
On 7.29.19, I met with Sinert to communicate to him how he made me feel. I informed him that he made me feel uncomfortable and so continuing with the next 2 classes is not possible for me. He apologized. I accepted. Sinert continued to go into teaching, however, I stopped him and expressed that I no longer wish to continue the 2 classes left as it has changed the dynamic in the professional/client dynamic. I requested a refund for the last 2 sessions, however, he stated that no refunds will be made.
I was wronged by Sinert touching me without permission, making the situation awkward/uncomfortable and changing the dynamic in a professional setting; I no longer wanted to learn what he had to teach. Instead of doing the honorable thing, (refunding me the last 2 classes because of his poor choice in crossing a professional boundary), it shows that he did not want to make things right.
Hopefully Sinert has learned that if you are in a professional setting, be mindful of personal space. I'm sure that if my husband was present, Sinert WOULD NOT HAVE touched my face with his two hands OR get within my own personal bubble.
If people want to better themselves overall with communication, anger, etc.... I recommend a professional that is held to a different ethical standard... perhaps a Mental Health Professional that answers to a Board---
Otherwise, Sinert is a Podiatrist that teaches Anger Management. There is no Board he will have to answer to regarding code of ethics. read more
