Neuro Muscular Connection provides high quality patient care and is expert in diagnosing and treating physical disorders.

Dr. Shaffer is amazing! After hurting my back lifting a heavy pallet, I was in pretty significant pain. Over the period of one month and four chiropractic visits, I have been fully recovered with a complete absence of pain and have increased flexibility and movement. The Doctor takes time with me, listening intently, and he provides detailed explanations for my care. He is effective and very reasonably priced. His office staff, Kimberly is also terrific and exceptionally helpful. With her assistance and expertise making appointments and getting insurance reimbursements has been a breeze. Overall a wonderful experience and a very high recommendation for my care. Very.Well.Done!! read more

I liked the ease of getting to this place. Super easy to bring up on Google Maps and then it's just towards the back of the office buildings--Suite E. The lobby is small, but I've never really run into anyone there because I haven't had to wait! Dr. Kautz is always prepared and ready to treat my husband for his back pain. As far as treatment goes, my husband's initial appointment was an hour and he could have easily stay for longer. Dr. Kautz fully accessed his problem areas and came up with an unexpected diagnoses. For my husband's back pain, she recommended a spleen supplement (which they conveniently sell on site) and the stuff worked like magic! She really knows her stuff! Today, during his follow up appointment, my husband wished he had another 30 mins to go for the great muscle work that he was receiving. Dr. Kautz is strong and does her job well! Being pregnant, I wasn't sure if chiropractic work was what I needed, but Dr. Kautz assured me that it can help with common pregnancy pain, and that she confidently works on other expecting clients. So as soon as my Dr. gives me the okay, I'll be joining myself as a patient...and possibly even my baby in the future! read more

I just got treated by Dr. Woods. He was very knowledgeable and I left there 100% better than when I walked in. He also treated my daughter in the recent past and she felt much better after her unfortunate tic tick dance incident that left her nearly bent over and unable to walk. (funny but not funny) I highly recommend Dr. Woods! read more

I have been a patient of The Neuromuscular Connection and Dr. Steven Shaffer ( AKA Dr. Steve) for 18 years. He has made a huge difference in my life with not only his treatments but also his sense of humor, support, compassion, wisdom, and intuition about human health and nutrition. When I had my first visit with him, I was very discouraged as I was suffering from chronic fatigue and the other doctors that I had visited wanted to prescribe anti depressants and/or pain pills. Dr. Steve told me that he could help me but it might take a little time for his program to produce results. Improvement came within a few weeks and I have been a patient of his ever since. I recommend Dr. Steve and his friendly and competent staff very highly. I honestly don't know where I would be with my health and wellness without his wise counsel and support. If you want to improve your overall wellness and/or you have specific ailments, give The Neuromuscular Connection a try. You will not regret it. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Shaffer to help you with any medical concerns. He has so much knowledge/experience and explains things to you so well. He has an answer for everything. Every appointment, I leave his office feeling like a new and improved version of me. He helped my dad with stroke recovery. My husband was on the verge of being diabetic and helped him turn his health around. Long story short, I have recommended many family and friends because he does make a difference and solves the root of the problem. I trust him! read more

I had been suffering with IBS symptoms and swollen lymph's for months. My primary doctor recommended the FODmap diet and a probiotic and sent me on my way. My symptoms never went away. Everyday the symptoms felt worse. A really good friend of mine recommended I see Dr. Shaffer. I was very hesitant because of the out of pocket cost. I've been going to neuromuscular connection since February, and I've never felt better. I no longer have IBS symptoms and it has been worth every penny!! Dr Shaffer and his whole team are amazing. read more

I visited Dr. Shaffer's office in November 2017. I had crashed hard on a bicycle, I'm an avid cyclist. He was able to pinpoint where I hit my head, where my pains were without me ever saying a word. He helped me so much in just one visit and didn't require me to come back. He gave me some home exercises to strengthen an old shoulder injury I also had-- determining there was significant weakness. I knew it was weak, I just didn't know how to strengthen it properly. He also informed me I had high cortisol, and gave me a natural supplement that lowered it and had me sleeping better very quickly. There's too much good to say about just the one visit I had. I will be following up, and seeing him again if I need any further help. But honestly I felt so great after my visit that I scheduled my mom, and he made her back feel better in one visit - - -from pain she had had for over 20 years. It's been 6 weeks and her pain didn't come back. Worth your time and money-- don't hesitate. And my insurance reimbursed me. 5+ Stars!! read more

Dr. Shaffer it's our main doctor. I hurt between my shoulders thinking it was muscle or a bone out of place. He used muscle testing to find that actually my gallbladder was the cause of shoulder pain. We've gone to him for years and is always my first stop to determine my health issues. He knows the body better than any doctor I've seen. Then he treats the problem with natural methods. He's amazing and we have referred many friends to him. He gets to the root of the problem . You won't be disappointed going to see him. read more

Dr. Crispin Woods is an extremely nice guy and a great chiropractor. He sincerely cares about helping people. I first found out about him through a friend who invited me to his FREE Wednesday night Olympic Lifting Workshop. (held in his office every Wednesday night at 7pm and Saturday at 10am) Amazingly while I was lifting in the workshop he noticed I was having some minor posture problems and asked if I ever endure lower back pain. He was right, my lower back had been an issue for years. After only a few visits my posture was fixed and my back pain gone! Being treated by Dr. Woods has truly made me conscious of my lifestyle by not only practicing but also teaching the true principles of chiropractic wellness care. Thank you Dr. Woods for adjusting my posture and saving my back! read more

I have been going to Dr. Shaffer the main chiropractor since 2002. He is incredible! Whenever I have gone into see him he has always been able to fix whatever needed to be worked on. Also Dr. Shaffer doesn't keep you coming back unnecessarily. He wants to treat you quickly and efficiently, so you don't have to incur more charges than are needed to make you well. The staff is very nice and positive. I am very grateful I found this place so long ago, from a personal reference. read more

This place is amazing. I have always had problems in which the doctors just throw random medicines at me and tell me to take them and see what happens. I hated it!(I'm only 22) I saw Dr. Steve first and within the first session he almost completely diagnosed me and didn't have to give me any crazy medicines (only one supplement). He referred me to Dr. Keverne as well which at first I didn't want to do. But after seeing her I also realized how amazing she is too. She has helped me to pick better lifestyle choices and I actually had fun while doing all this. Both practitioners have amazing personalities and will keep you rolling! :) Like I said....This place is awesome. Try it once and you'll realize it too! read more

If you were looking at this, you probably already know generally what kind of doctor Dr. Schaeffer is. I will say that he is one of the best. People come here for different reasons, personally I am spinal cord injured and getting the laser treatment to increase sensation and function in my hands and arms. In the five months I have been coming here, I will say that I have made tremendous progress. Dr. Schaeffer is great, and his staff (Elise, Chelsea, and Marcella) complement him very well. You're really not gonna get any better care anywhere else. Sometimes I think that he is a shaman. He was able to diagnose me with the flu and figure out exactly what treatment to take and was able to eradicate it without using any modern medical diagnostic tools. While I can only speak from my experience with the clinc as a spinal cord injured person, I know that his other patients are getting tremendous benefit as well. read more

Just finished an amazing massage with Patti. Then got an adjustments by Dr. Shaffer perfect combination. Definitely coming back!

I think Dr. Shaffer is amazing! I was at my wits end when I started seeing him summer of 2013, based on a referral. I wasn't sleeping and couldn't walk without pain. Right away he helped me and has continued to help. I started seeing him every 3 days, and now I only come in on a need to basis (every 4-8 weeks right now). I have been so thrilled with my treatment that I have referred and continue to refer people to him. He's down to earth, easy to talk to and a joy to be around. I highly recommend him. read more

I was referred to NMC by a friend in 10/13. I had chronic sinus, throat, and ear infections and bouts of bronchitis for the past 4 years. I had seen countless conventional ENT's said it was "normal" or wanted to do surgery without being able to figure out the cause. I met with Dr Shaffer for my first consultation and within three minutes, he made a diagnosis. We confirmed the diagnosis with blood work and began treatment immediately. Four months after my initial visit, Dr Shaffer cured the initial diagnosis. We are still working through a secondary diagnosis but I have never been more confident that I am getting the right treatment (no surgery or antibiotics). My entire family comes to see Doc Shaffer for sickness or pain and we see Keverne for nutritional advice as well. I have referred at least 10 other people who were unable to find answers and Dr Shaffer was able to diagnose their issues as well. Kim and the rest of the staff are always helpful and pleasant. I love that I can book appointments online instead of calling and being on hold or leaving a voice mail. Dr Shaffer's practice changed my life and I can't say enough good things! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Shaffer since 2006. He is seriously the best! I had lost all faith in the medical system prior and didn't think I was ever going to get better. When I first came to him I was a mess. I had terrible depression, anxiety, and digestive issues. He was able to balance my neurotransmitters and I can now eat normally. Any time I have an ailment I see him and recover quickly. read more

I've been coming here for 6 years and it has changed my life! Dr Steve works to heal you, rather than just giving you medicine and sending you home. Dr Steven Shaffer rates far above the limited 5 stars available. There isn't sufficient room to tell you the miraculous work that he has done for his patients. His goal is to get a patient well - not the typical "keep coming back" that many Chiropractors use as a way to make money. Not only does he work his miracles with the "ordinary patient", but he has a program where he treats Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) patients giving them the ability to use their bodies in a way that medical doctors say couldn't be done. Once you see Dr Shaffer, you will find that he is superior to any other. read more

I had been battling with digestion issues for years. i was prescribed anti-depressants and prilosec by an MD. I am writing this review after only 2 visits with Dr. Shaffer. However, I am very impressed with the progress I have made in such a short time. I very much appreciated the time he spent explaining his diagnosis and treatment program. The staff I have met (Kim and Jason) have been very professional and friendly. I look forward to adding to my review as I complete my plan of treatment. read more

He seemed nice at first, but when I suffered from an allergic reaction to the supplements he prescribed, he became upset at my questions and requests for clarity. He treated me like an annoyance because I did not understand or respond well to his treatment methods on the first try. What he prescribed caused me harm...and he did not seem to care. Truly disappointed in his actions and I hope this review helps other thyroid patients avoid the same experience. read more
