Honestly, it seems the can barely differentiate between red and white wine. And why should they? This wine bar sells remaining stock to the customers - with no cut offs, of course. How am I so sure about this? Well, we ordered 2 glasses of wine, they came and we wanted to have a refill which was not possible because it was the last bottle. We opted for a different type of wine, staff poured wine into the glasses - 1 glass full, the other just 3 sips - again, the last bottle. This happened as well the first time my wife was there. Seriously, when you are into wine, go elsewhere. This is a rip off with incredibly untrained staff that doesn't care at all.

Clear recommendation to rent and spend some evenings there with friends. Or with business partners.

The drawback being, that it gets loud. The food is on one page at the back of a massive drinks menu, but the quality shines. The salads were big and beautiful, and the flammkuchen with crème fraîche, spring onions, speck, and pfifferlinge was perfect - - beautiful balance of ingredients, satisfying creamy base, and just delicious. The wines were OK. The recommended red from our stellar server opened up nicely over time. My two whites had character, but were nothing I'd buy in. We wandered in - unfortunately to sit outside you have to have a reservation, but the inside was fine if a bit warm. We sat next to a window and didn't notice any issues. They don't have a menu in English - but one very nice person who works there went through the whole menu with us, and when we were looking at wines he had us try a few before we settled on anything. They mostly have what they call "tarte flambé", which is basically a flatbread. We had the 'classic' one, which is cheese, sausage, and red onion with their house sause. It was very good, and one was enough for both my husband and I. Also - we tried their house balsamic on it which was divine. We also had .5 L of a Riesling that we tried and was quite delightful for a hot summer night in Hamburg. We spent awhile chatting with the worker (the one who walked us through the menu) and had an overall great time. The cost was reasonable (€22 for the flat bread and .5L of wine) and the atmosphere was great, and the people were amazing! They definitely make this place. Highly recommend.
