I have seen the Dr advertise specials on Yelp, so if you haven't any insurance it would behoove you to give the good doctor a call. They may be able to work out something affordable with you.

I really think it's hard to find an honest dentist. I recommended my friend to him because she had a root canal done on her front tooth by another dentist. Her tooth started to turn gray! She went back to her old dentist and he said "oh, all you need to use is whitening strips." Can you believe that?! Some I convinced her to go to my Dr. H and guess what---- her tooth was rotting!!!!! He said that a normal dentist could not do a proper job and referred her to a specialist. My parents are dental technicians and they know who the good dentists are (ask any dentist, they will agree). And since my parents and my sister go to him, I know that he is one of the best out there. Even though Dr. H's office is up north, I think it's worth the trip. He has extended hours (including Saturdays) and is very flexible.

The Dentist: Dr. Kao is an experienced dentist and readily answer questions or/and provide referrels when needed. If you have a minor cavity, he can sometimes use laser technology to fix it which is much less painful than the regular method. The Staff: The staff at the office includes Julie and Nicole who are easy to interact with. I always feel welcomed at their office. Building: My only recommendation for improvement is that the interior needs to be updated. The entire office is very clean and the wooden floors are up to date. The wall paint, decor, and ceiling, howevering, could use some sprucing up. Also, the outside of the building has a generic "DENTIST" sign on it which could use some brand design updates as well. Parking: There is a large private lot, so parking is not an issue.

Located in the professional services building in Old Orchard, ahem, Westfield Old Orchard. If the work he is going to do will even be moderately painful, he will let you know and offer to give you relief in whatever way - anesthesia, won't just "drill and drill and drill", etc. Cleanings/polishings may be a bit on the rough side, but you won't regret it and will remove more plaque and debris than any other dentist I ever known. This is his own practice and does well, but it is a small shop so scheduling is essential (duh). Emergencies for the last minute issues? I think he may be able to see you on the same day or next; however anything of a real emergency should just go to the ER (duh again). Recommended!

Exactly what I needed…read more I recently moved to north Chicagoland, and suddenly one of my bottom wisdom teeth started aching. I hurriedly bought a dental plan (insurance takes six months to kick in, really) and saw which dentists took it, and Dr. Lee Chuljoo was one of them. I called him Monday at about 10am saying it was an emergency, and I got in at 2pm. I came 10 minutes early and still had no waiting time. Dr. Lee Chuljoo took an x-ray, and before he saw the results he said he could do it for $100 (a godsend for me, I'm on a budget). He extracted the tooth within 20 minutes, and there was no pain even though I was awake. I will admit some of his equipment looks old, but hey, it works. Also, if you want a fancy treatment where they put you under, I don't know if Dr. Lee Chuljoo would be the best. However, he saved the day as far as I'm concerned, and I know he won't over charge you.

He said I had to get used to it. Every time I saw him I'd bring it up. After several years, because my bite was off, I chipped the crown. Not only did I chip the crown, I had constantly bit my tongue. As a side effect of medication I started to grind my teeth at night. I asked Doug about it, he was not concerned. My wife had seen him twice per year, he did not inform her that she was developing a sever decay issue. By the way, when my crown chipped and I was concerned, he would not return my call and when I dropped in to his office they acted as if he had no time. He did fit me in hours later and charged me and my insurance company for an emergency visit. Upon visiting a different dentist; the new dentist showed me on xrays where my old crown was not placed properly and is why my bite was off causing me to bit my tongue so much. Also with the same insurance that we had with Dr. Doug B. my co-pay was only $60 for a night guard to control my night time grinding. I have at this point lost lateral height by grinding my teeth down. Regarding my Wife, ex-rays showed sever decay between two teeth. The new dentist had assumed that my wife had not seen a dentist for some time not knowing she had been seeing Dr. Doug B at least twice per year. New dentist said the severity of the decay would have to have taken several years to develop.

He is prompt in an emergency (I had a veneer knocked out), gentle, and extremely personable. I am pretty sensitive and not one that enjoys dental work, so the fact that I have no anxiety going there is pretty telling. I've had many dentists in my life growing up with braces, and I say with 100% confidence that Dr. Bauer has been the best. Give him a try if you want quality, affordable work. My current veneer that he replaced after my accident has been going strong for five years - color is perfectly matched.

I am reviewing for Al since he doesn't do it! Dr. Swantek is caring, personable, kind and a partner in whatever procedure might be needed. His office staff is warm and wonderful too - a good experience. Al is extremely happy with him. Al has had some pain with his teeth in the past six months, and in the first experience Dr. Swantek fitted him in to see him ASAP. The pain went away, but flared up again this past week bigtime. This last week Dr. Swantek was away, but his assistant not only took the message and called Al back ASAP, but also arranged for us to see another excellent dentist in JP. And Al was able to see Dr. S yesterday, and he recommended an Endodontist specialist, Dr. Fitzgerald today, and Al had the root canal. Al is resting comfortably and doing so well, thanks to the joint efforts of all of these great dentists. Now I need to do a review for the kind and gentle attentions of Dr. Swantek's friend from dental school, who was nice enough to see us when Dr. Swantek was out!
