Network Video has a pretty decent selection of titles for such a compact store. It is particularly good for foreign and arthouse films that you are unlikely to find at Blockbuster, for instance.
However, several months after moving out of the area and stopping renting at Network, I received a call from a debt collection agency informing me that I owed a large sum of money on my account. This was complete news to me, as I had never received a phone call advising me of this. Also, I had only ever had quite minimal late fees when I was a regular customer, and always made a habit of paying them off as soon as I was advised of them. Having worked in a video store myself, I'm pretty good with these things.
To top it off, as the debt was apparently from so long ago, they were no longer able to inform me what the debt was even for. All I knew was that if I didn't pay the debt, I would have a mark against my name on my credit file. After much debate, I paid half of the stated amount and had my account officially removed from Network Video's system.
So be cautious we these guys! I'm not suggesting that they are dodgy, but their record keeping leaves something to be desired. With that in mind, if you know that you will no longer be a customer there, be sure to have them remove your account from their system and advise you there and then of any outstanding charges. read more
